  1. ok, so let me just preface by saying that I remain impartial between the groups in my judgement. From where I'm standing, both groups have negative and positive aspects. While the tsek group is more confrontational, the formerly USSR group tends to mainline offline raiding. Both groups get a lot of hate for these two facts, but it's part of what Rust is and I'm not about to let that sway me either way in my judgement.
  2.
  3. As for the rules:
  4.
  5. Keep in mind, the intention behind the kos rule is not to eliminate kos, but to get rid of toxic bahaviour, hence we look for kontinual kos. Also keep in mind that not all killing is KoS. First I need to establish if the cases were kos, and whether there is a continual pattern.
  6.
  7.
  8. Applying the above to the cases Vader's group reported to me:
  9.
  10. 1) vader getting KoS'd with scrap in the field:
  11.
  12. I have no proof to go on. There is no entry in the logfiles within the reported period (midnight - 4pm) for vader being killed by anyone afilliated to Kingneedle/Tentacoin. I spoke to them and they admit contesting "you guys", while you (Vader's group) were taking helli. What I do find in logfiles is that at some point vader was killed by helli (aka blunt):
  13.
  14. "(10:55:50) | [SWDLS] Lord Vader[12755281/76561198035592659] was killed by Blunt"
  15.
  16. So that lays some weight to thier claim that they were challenging you during heli.
  17.
  18. I made provision for the possibility that one of the tsek guys could have downed Vader and taken the scrap, but the TSEK clan is confrontational and would rather full kill so the kill would show up in chat than to sneak off with it, leaving vader to suicide.
  19.
  20. What I'm basically saying is I have no idea who to believe, and not enough evidence to sway me either way.
  21.
  22.
  23.
  24. 2) killing at light house
  25.
  26. From what I saw in the video that Nipple sent me, I can discern a few facts:
  27.
  28. Kingneedle's group says they were drawn to explosions. Hence I'm looking for facts to back that up. The only evidence I have before the killings happened is Nipple's video and there is no sound.
  29.
  30. Yesterday I reviewed Nipple's video and I got the impression that he was helping to carry loot from a raid base and was killed while carrying the loot back to his base. The reason why I think it's a raid base, is that it's a simplistic base, with chests, with a tc. The loot is disorganised and of the type that is typically grabbed and dumped as happens during a raid. Vader told me over steam that it's not a raid base, it's a "stash base".
  31.
  32. In the mean time the other group also sent me a video. From thier discussion in the video, it definitely looks like they were looking for you in that area - which tels me something gave you away, lending credence to the claim of explosives.
  33.
  34. Moreover, after reviewing Nipple's video a second time, I noticed that when Nipple suicided to respawn in what you call the stash base, the name of the bag he spawned in was called "raidy raid".
  35.
  36. Nipple proceeds to open the chests that are full of unsorted loot, proceeding to grab full set of gear and guns (getting ready for a fight) as well as taking the most vaulable stuff, among which is a rocket launcher.
  37.
  38. In the other groups video, I can clearly see they are referring to your rocket launchers before opening fire, meaning they have at least identified you as raiders before opening fire, and is thus not KoS.
  39.
  40.
  41. I also went to look at the "stash base" in game.
  42.
  43. There is a base nearby owned by Guthunter - the base was clearly recently raided. There is a raid ladder left on the walls, owned by Stevieboi whom is afiliated to Nipple/Vader's group.
  44.
  45. The stash base is located a few metre's away and perfectly intact.
  46.
  47. The raid base/stash base walls were built by m1stress/vader.
  48.
  49. Chests inside was placed by Razor/Educatednipple
  50.
  51.
  52. The conclusion for this case is that the stash base is by definition a raid base and that Nipple and his group were killed while transporting loot that was obtained during an offline or passive raid, and is not against the rules.
  53.
  54. I would like to clarify that in both online and offline raids, the rules are not to prevent loss of raid loot. Any loot that is obtained during a raid, is subject to raid rules, and may be contested for at any time during the looting phase of the raid. Offline raids or passive raids tends to be drawn out, but you cannot have a raid without carting loot, hence we define the looting phase as part of a raid, even if it is delayed.
  55.
  56. In closing, in both cases, with the evidence and player testimonies I have, I see no rule breaking from either group.
