  1. This is a routing guide meant for beginner/mid-level people interested in crash 3 any% no item glitch.

  8. Important info before reading:

  10. - Third mask form/invincibility is really fast. Get it as much as possible in platforming levels.
  11. - Plane levels (2 in this category), N. Gin, and Cortex take away your masks.

  13. - This guide is all in the context of any% no item glitch so masks that appear in levels only in time trial mode will not be mentioned.
  14. - This guide will not mention routing decisions involving entering a level to make a global cycle be in a better position as beginner/mid-level runners will most likely not have good enough movement to match those cycles and it's not documented what the cycles look like with slower warp room times.
  15. - Do not obsess over missing invincibilities while you run this. Most of them don`t save as much as people think and there are many other important ways to go fast.

  19. WARP 1
  20. - 02 is done first because if you die before starting your run and go decently fast, the turbine cycles in this level will be in fast positions. Do not bother getting the slot box mask near the end, it's not worth it.
  21. - 03 is typically done next because of the cuddle skip strat near the end which people wanna get past quick. At top level it's reasonable to reset to missing it but you shouldn't otherwise. No masks here, don't get hit.
  22. - 01 is done next because it has 2 masks in it unlike 04, so you can still get 2 invincibilities in this warp room. Grab the first mask and get invincibility on the next mask.
  23. - 04 is next with your 2 masks from 01. One invincibility
  24. - 05 can kinda go where you want it to but it's usually done last out of the 5 levels since it's the level you're least likely to reset over. No masks here, don't get hit.

  26. WARP 2
  27. - 07 is the most important invincibility of the three platforming levels. If you have 2 masks, go to this level.
  28. - If you need masks, go to 06 because it has a large amount of masks. If you are doing this level without 2 masks, you still should wait on the slot box's mask and get that invincibility. If you are doing this level with 2 masks, do not wait for the slot box.
  29. - 09 is the second most important invincibility in this warp room, so do it after 07 if you leave that with two masks.
  30. - 10 has a damage abuse at the end to skip the cuddle animation. Do it after all the platforming levels have been done. You can still do this cuddle skip damage abuse with only 1 mask because it saves more than the level 11 invincibility in warp room 3. No masks here, don't get hit before the damage abuse. Never do the cuddle skip here and then refill masks in 06.
  31. - 08 can go where you want, it doesn't take masks and you can't lose them.

  33. WARP 3
  34. - 12 is done first here if you did the damage abuse in 10. Do not damage abuse on any jets here because it's slightly more practical and way easier to save time by getting invincibility in 11.
  35. - 11 is done next with your 2 masks you got from 12. This level's invincibility saves the least amount of time out of the whole category and it's a very small timeloss if you miss it.
  36. - 13 has the most important invincibility of this warp room, make it a priority over level 15.
  37. - 15 has the second most important invincibility here.
  38. - 14 can go where you want, it doesn't take masks and you can't lose them.
  39. - N. Tropy has a damage abuse you can do here, don't do it if you have 1 mask.

  41. WARP 4
  42. - 18 is done first for a free mask. If you don't do the N. Tropy damage abuse, this is a free 1 mask refill.
  43. - 20 is the most important invincibility here, it stops the water cycles from rising while you have it.
  44. - 19 is ideally done before 16 so you can just damage abuse in the last parts of 16 with remaining masks, but if you suck at 19 then some runners like to do 16 first so they still get another invincibility in 16 if they get hit in 19.
  45. - 17 TAKES AWAY your masks. Most people do it last because of that and the fact that...
  46. - N. Gin takes away your masks.
  47.  
  48. - 24 takes away your masks so you can do it first, last, or after all the platforming levels have been completed.
  49. - 22 can go where you want, it doesn't take masks and you can't lose them.
  50. - 25 has free masks so it's done first for invincibility in 21. You can damage abuse on the hoppin' coffin before the blue gem to keep the door open there - it won't matter since the free 3 masks are right up ahead.
  51. - 21 has 1 mask for invincibility.
  52. - 23 has no masks but it is usually done after 21 for safety since you may have some masks left over from that.
  53. - Cortex takes away your masks but it doesn't really matter obviously.
