- in all seriousness we do need to have a talk about what constitutes an official metagame (and specifically, Little Cup). i think that it has been the general consensus of the community at large that little cup isn't a very competitive metagame and that we shouldn't support it by putting it in high stakes, official tournaments such as grand slam and spl. the vocal minority that does play little cup regularly has called tier bashing quite often, but i believe that if a significant portion of high level players think that a tier isn't a good measure of skill then we should definitely have a good hard look at removing it from the tournament circuit. to take an often occurring situation from grand slam, good players (who are good all around; ciele, heist, bloo, etc) have to learn to play other metagames than their "standard". you generally don't hear any complaints about other tiers being uncompetitive or simply no fun to play; in fact I think a lot of players would view NU, RU, UU, and Ubers as BW's best tiers. LC, though, is always the butt of the gripes, and we should listen and respond to that. continuing to allow a small percentage of players to force on the larger portion of players [when we could have a better, more skillful tier in its place] is really disheartening and kind of representative of the community's ideals nowadays.
