  26. » jaehyun was born in jeju, south korea, where he grew up with his parents. they originally weren't expecting to have a child, but jaehyun was a happy surprise for them. when he was three years old, his mother gave birth again, this time to two girls. being the older brother, jaehyun was immediately protective over his younger siblings, eunji and eunmi, and vowed to protect them from the world. growing up, he was particularly close with his mother, who was the one that initially took him to dance lessons. at first, jaehyun didn't like it, because he was the only boy there, among about fifteen other girls, but it was his mother who reassured him that it was was okay and that he shouldn't be embarrassed. jaehyun continued with dance lessons all throughout the rest of his school life, and was then street casted for sm entertainment. his mother was very supportive of his decision to travel to seoul to become an idol, while his father wasn’t so keen at first, but later began to support his only son after much persuasion from his wife. jaehyun travelled to seoul on his own when he was thirteen and began training under sm entertainment, where he became part of the sm rookies. because of this he grew close with several members of nct, as well as wendy from red velvet, who later became his best friend. however, he later left the entertainment company for personal reasons, and joined bighit instead, a year after leaving, and continued his training there instead.

  29. » one word that describes jaehyun is a chatterbox, and even he will admit it. he loves to talk, and he could probably talk for the whole of korea. there is never a quiet moment around him, and it almost seems as if the only times he stops talking is when he's asleep. because of this, people can always tell when he's tired, because he becomes unusually quiet. he also always finds some way to look on the positive side of things, and hates it when other people are sad. he is definitely one of the more rowdy members in the group, and can be very shameless, often teaming up with the rest of the loud pack to make trouble. however, he really does mean well, and can always be counted on to make others feel better whenever something doesn't quite work out the way it was planned. he is known to cause trouble (often by accident and without meaning to), and the leader of the group feels the ned to keep and eye on him, because he'd be the type to just wander off without telling anyone and get lost. he is a very good listener, and is always there for his members when they need to vent out their problems, as he will sit there and listen, without making unnecessary remarks, making him one the easiest members to talk to. he is the type of person to act shameless, and like a total flirt, but whenever a girl walks within five metres of him, it's all over and he's scrambling to get away, because he has no experience with the opposite sex, and gets all nervous and awkward around them. however, jaehyun can also sometimes be a bit annoying, because he is just always there, even when people don't want him around, and never seems to take the hint when he's not wanted.
