- Adrian sat in the chair of his study.
- He tapped his fingers along the desk, as if he were deep in thought. A second later and his scarred digits were pulling at a drawer. He removed a tome and placed it onto the table, moving everything else out of the way.
- He stood up, grabbed the circlet, and placed it next to the tome. It was time. The runic theory had been perfected through rigorous study and peer review. All that was left was applying them to the circlet.
- The undead scholar closed his artificial eyes and opened them, as if to gather his composure before continuing in the meticulous process he was about to undertake. A blue glow encapsulated his burned hands.
- A runic array appeared in the air above the circlet. Ornately designed geometric figures could be observed. Symmetrically perfect lines swirled in various directions. Runic symbols began to appear inside and outside of the array.

- Before long, the complex designs hovering in the air aligned themselves with the circlet. The complexities were transferred onto the inside and outside surfaces of the talisman.
- Line by line, symbol by symbol, and shape by shape.
- It took hours of uninterrupted concentration. A single slip up and he risked jeopardizing the integrity of the entire runic formula.
- It took a great deal of mana, and an even greater deal of vigilance in order to apply them exactly as they were supposed to be.
- The functions were complex-- naturally, it required one to have an abundance of intellectual endurance.
- The designs were carved into the orchilacum, using the material of the circlet was forged of in order to further accentuate the magical functions enabled by the runes applied to it.
- The runes themselves would enable the circlet to allow one to utilize their memories and cognitive magical potency to stabilize an illusionary apparition of themselves. Additionally, upon contact the circlet would bind to one's mana circuits in order to further stabilize said form. He was nearly finished.
- One more step.
- The runes had to be empowered by experienced illusion magi. This would further stabilize the effects of the functions. And for that? He'd need help. A few people came to mind. People that he trusted, and people that he knew would be able to satisfy the requirements demanded by the circlet.
