bae wonhyeon came from a very religious family. she was raised with good morals and a desire to be seemingly a very perfect family. she always had to follow a strict dress code, what she would eat and what she would say, which she wasn't happy to do so. she has a dream of being a dancer, but her parents wanted her to pursue business as "that's what the heavens want you to be".

one purge night, chunghae, her little sister, had been murdered by their neighbor. her parents who had been against purging dealt with grief, but wonhyeon dealt with her anger. that night, she went out to that same neighbor and killed them, to her parents' dismay. they must not tell anyone wonhyeon had killed someone, for their image will be ruined.

wonhyeon had developed depression because of her sister's death and she couldn't keep up the "perfect" image anymore, so she decided to move out. she stole her mother's hidden savings, went to the city and pursued dance in her uni and worked parttime as a tattooist. she was detached to the world, often stating she hates living in it but often pretends to be a optimistic girl in front of her schoolmates and friends. she then got eaten by her hate that she was driven to go and talk to someone, eventually meeting changmin along the way... who could maybe change her outlook in life.

relationship with love interest: wonhyeon and changmin are friends, mostly because wonhyeon often goes to her counselor and changmin usually tags along with her when she's done so they can eat somewhere.

how you guys met: when pretending to be happy got to her too much that even smiling became so painful for her, she went to see a counselor. changmin was there to assist wonhyeon to his mother.
