  1. "Dear Zelfie,
  2.
  3. As you've probably figured out by now, in the last vote both rssp and I flipped. I'm writing this letter to you using the reward I got from levelling all three shibes up to 100. You're welcome to share this with whydon and with anybody else that comes to the jury later.
  4.
  5. I wanted to say three things in this letter: a description of what's happened in my game to date, an explanation for why I decided to "flip", and my plans going forward.
  6.
  7. Let's start back on tomo. On day 1, I got nice and tight with two people: you and rssp. I ended up being much closer to rssp than I was to you, but since you and umbreon had the numbers I certainly wasn't going to tell you that. Rssp didn't know about the alliance until after the swap. On tomo, Rssp and I worked on the idol hunt together (using clues together, brainstorming together) and found the tomo idol together a day or so before you got it. Later on, I discovered that by leveling the tomo shibe to 100 before anyone else, we would get access to the riddle hunt on the lucha side. I shared the clues again, and we solved it within 5 hours of starting the riddle hunt, and rssp and I ended pre-swap with two idols: one in each of our pockets.
  8. This friendship made it so that when you offered to throw matches to Umbreon, I happily agreed, not to save umbreon but to save rssp. Something you may not have known is that when Umbreon went to rocks on the final pre-merge vote, the tie vote should never have happened. Rssp voted for Umbreon (not Whydon!), and Jay (who was supposed to join Rssp and Marjane and Whydon), for some reason decided to vote ria instead. On the revote, Rssp voted again for umbreon, but Jay voted for Whydon (again, don't know why) and got rocked out himself.
  9. Immediately after the merge, I identified that our alliance of four can easily get to final 5. But I wasn't happy with my situation: I was sure (maybe I was wrong on this) that if the final 5 was the alliance of four plus animus, I would not make final 3. My reasoning was simple: you would take umbreon and vice versa given how close you were, and of me airwind and animus, it is obviously optimal to take animus to the end. I couldn't get close to Airwind (we just didn't click I guess, I reached out a lot!), so I had a really uncertain future as the bottom of a four man alliance facing what was effectively (given animus) a final 2 situation.
  10.
  11. On the other hand, because I knew I was tight with Rssp, any world that would end up with Rssp in final 5 was a much safer route, especially so if I took along with me animus (who would self vote) or some jury threat from the old alliance.
  12. So that's what I tried to do. At f10 (god, what a mess that was), the original plan was to have rssp, whydon, and marjane try to eliminate animus taking advantage of a split vote. This changed when Umbreon doubted whether or not he could trust Granny. When I was planning out paths to final 5, granny's vote was a consistent thorn in my side because he was so close to you. But when Umbreon said that in the alliance chat, immediately I realized that this was an opportunity. So I told Rssp to tell Marjane (neither Marjane nor Whydon knew I was working with them, because I was afraid they might sell me out!) to tell Umbreon that Granny was with her. Umbreon believed that Granny had flipped, just like we planned, and so the gears of a granny lynch were put in place.
  13. Granny would have gone home f10, if Whydon didn't inexplicably tell Granny that he was getting voted out. Once I found out (from the logs with Umbreon that he posted in the alliance chat), I called Rssp on discord and told him that I wasn't going to join an alliance with Whydon. I thought Whydon might betray me, or not follow the plans I wanted to enact, and he was just in general far too unpredictable a factor for me to work with. So I pushed hard in the alliance chat for a Whydon lynch against the will of rssp and I'm very happy that it went through.
  14.
  15. A 100% intended side-effect of publicizing a vote on Granny was that even if he didn't go home, he would flip away from you and Umbreon because he wouldn't trust people who were planning on voting for him. And so instead of rssp, whydon, and marjane, the alliance of outsiders became rssp, granny, and marjane when the f10 vote concluded.
  16. At f9, Rssp and I once again tried to get the idol. I was monitoring the progress you and umbreon were making in the alliance chat: most of the time though, we were ahead of you on the hunt. I believe the only time you guys were ahead was on the magikarp riddle--for some reason we didn't think to square root the numbers so we got stuck on the code (and that was the only time I copied answers from you guys!). But we got to the final clue and the treasure chest only a few hours before you guys did. Rssp and I didn't know what to do with the damn chest with the shibe fur, so we had the shibes drag it to 5 on the map because that's where the gif of the island zoomed in on. Nothing happened. But then I took the shibe fur in our alliance chat, which began a roleplaying scenario, and I now have the advantage (I can play the shibe fur after the votes are read to negate a vote in the case of a tie prior to f7). In addition to my previous idol and Rssp’s idol which I think I can control, this puts me in an excellent position.
  17. Last tribal council, I planned very early on that I needed for you guys to split votes in order to get a lynch on you or umbreon without playing an idol. That's why I suggested that we split between whoever didn't get immunity in Rssp, Granny, and Marjane. I talked to Umbreon to try and finagle a f3 promise--he did, but I still didn't really believe him. At the end of the day, I flipped with Rssp, Granny and Marjane were informed of my presence after the vote, and here we are.
  18. Going forward, I expect that Airwind (or Ria) will be the vote at f8, and Ria and Umbreon will follow in some order after that, barring any strange immunity runs. The f5 vote will contain Marjane, myself, Rssp, and two of Animus, Granny, and Umbreon (I want to keep Umbreon alive as long as possible so that Granny and Marjane will be willing to vote him as a jury threat, diminishing my chances of being backstabbed).
  19. At the end of all this, I hope the explanation of what's happened so far has at least been entertaining, and I hope the next time we play, I will be put in a situation where I think the best course of action is to ally with you guys. I enjoyed voice chats with you, Umbreon, and Airwind, and I enjoyed scheming and joking and having fun. But at the end of the day, the alliance was too big: a four person alliance always has one person at the bottom of the totem pole, and this time I thought it was me. Maybe I was wrong, maybe I wasn't. In any case I did what I thought was best for my game.
  20.
  21. Genuinely, my greatest fear is that after this betrayal I still don't make f3, because in that case I would have ruined your chances (and those of airwind and umbreon) in this season for nothing. I hope that doesn't happen.
  22.
  23. Take care,
  24.
  25. Hal"
