  10. Attempted Armed Robbery with a Knife

On Sunday, October 2, 2011, at approximately 11:30 p.m., two males were standing on the corner of N.E. 45th Street and 17th Avenue N.E. when they were approached by two unknown females who threatened them with a knife and demanded money. The victims were able to run away and call police. The female suspects got into a dark green 4-door vehicle, possibly a Toyota Corolla or Mazda, and fled the area eastbound on N.E. 45th Street.

  15. The victims did not give the suspects any money and were not injured in this incident. There is no further suspect description available at this time.

  17. This case is being investigated by the Seattle Police Department under case number 2011-324489.

  23. Crime Prevention Tips for Similar Incidents:
  24. * Avoid confrontations whenever possible.
  25. * Remove yourself from potentially dangerous situations as soon as possible.
  26. * Call 911 when you believe a confrontation is escalating.
  27. * Walk with friends if possible.
  28. * Call Husky NightWalk: 206-685-WALK (9255) for a security guard escort to various locations on campus and within a one-mile radius off campus. The hours of operation for these uniformed guards are 6:00pm-2:00am, 7 days week.

  30. If you suspect criminal activity, some helpful information to pass on to the police:
  31. * Clothing descriptors- look for layers under the visible layer, other distinctive
  32. design identifiers, etc.
  33. * Physical characteristics - height, weight, eyes, hair, mannerisms, scars/tattoos
  34. * Direction of travel (by foot or automobile)
  35. * Suspect vehicle description, including license plate
  36. * Weapons involved
