- ---------------------
- Idea:
- >drugs in Hell understandably come in a wide variety - with no restrictions, regulations, and with the laws of physics, chemistry and biology reduced to mere suggestions, there's a near limitless potential in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and especially the narcotics industry
- >you get your normal, everyday, humdrum, boring old heroin, cocaine, marijuana, Speed, ecstasy, LSD...
- >but that's boring!
- >the REAL interesting stuff lies beyond stimulants, depressants, opiates and hallucinogens!
- >first, you have your basic 4+ stuff - that is, something that belongs to the main four types, but it's a little extra
- >in real life, Dimethylheptylpyran was a synthetic analogue to THC, which caused elation and low blood pressure for ten times the duration of the real deal, but was weak in the hallucinogenic department
- >Hell's DMHP lasts 48 hours, and produces intense, yet soothing hallucinations comparable with LSD
- >and you're guaranteed to avoid bad trips!
- >then, you have your fantasy stuff, like Burgess' vellocet (an amphetamine+painkiller combo), synthemesc (literally just synthetic mescaline, produced to lower the price of Peyotes)...
- >the real change starts with drencrom, or Adrenochrome
- >in Hell, it's specifically produced because it drives people mad, psychotic, even
- >it's a prominent member of the so-called "aggressor" group - drugs specifically designed to make you fight
- >these range from stimulant-painkiller blends like the aforementioned vellocet (though that's mainly used for its endurance-, and stamina-increasing effects), to complex stuff that outright turn someone into an omnicidal maniac
- >another member of this group is KMFDM - named after the band, it is "a drug against war", as it causes reckless, anarchic behavior and paranoia, whilst also numbing pain and giving a massive adrenaline boost - perfect for inducing some friendly fire among enemies, though an overdose can results in both sides being wiped out by one nutjob
- -
- >daterape drugs belong to the "Hypnotics" group, which do just that - they make users (or rather, victims) submissive and suggestible
- >then, there are the literal "magical drugs" - expensive stuff with a 100% guarantee to work exactly as intended with no drawbacks or chances of addiction (mental or physical), that are usually only available for the demonic upper class
- >they're mostly used for transformations and the like, but a lot of "repercussion-free" analogues to everyday drugs exist as well, and their sales are on the uptick
- >TGMs - temporary gene mods - were created as the scientific answer to the aforementioned "Tranformatives"
- >they function similar to gene tonics or "vigors" form the Bioshock series of games - to the point where you can buy stronger, but more addiction-inducing intravenous versions, and weaker drinkable versions of them
- >since they're effectively the product of stem-, and cancer-cell manipulation, they're often even more expensive than magical drugs
- >the medicinal side of the trade doesn't lag behind, as everything, from vita-pills to healing rays are widely available
- >however, many believe that the chemical compounds required to deliver the healing effects as quickly as they come outweigh said effects, and the generally higher price of non-conventional medical drugs is also a deterrent
- >certain pick-me-ups or "insta-vitamins", however, enjoy a huge and dedicated buyer base, alongside liquors that contain a milder version of certain drugs' effects
- >"Pink Elephants" is one of the most common 16th-birthday party gifts among young imps, for example, and it can be bought over the counter in many convenience stores
- >energy drinks containing vitamins and minerals are also common - as do ones that contain delayed-effect depressants
- -
- >Beelzejuice is the culmination of many of the aforementioned drug types
- >a mildly alcoholic, mild flavored liquor (said to magically become the favorite flavor of the drinker), it is a combination of mild, long-duration stimulants and (physically) non-addictive anti-depressants, is rich in vitamins and minerals, and effectively functions as an appetite-suppressant
- >and this latter part is where the issues came up
- >while it is utterly harmless in every aspect, if it's used as a replacement for proper food and drink, there's a high chance that the user will become heavily addicted to it
- >the fact that it tastes like their favorite thing without ever becoming bland, due to it's mildness creating a "taste Shephard tone", makes it very difficult to stop drinking
- >as it contains no addictive substances, it wouldn't cause the user to consume it in excess to get a "greater hit", it gives the drinker a sense of "comfortable fullness", and prolonged usage in this form can temporarily, or even permanently slow down the drinker's metabolism
- >the problem, therefore, arises when a longtime drinker suddenly quits, or doesn't has access to it anymore
- >all at once, the suppressed hunger comes back with full force, whilst the body begins to cry out for its suddenly cut supply of essential nutrients
- >add to this the sudden crash induced by the lack of stimulants and anti-depressants, and you got a recipe for disaster
- >while no deaths have been recorded as a result of a post-Beelzejuice Refeeding Syndrome, BRS is still an officially recognized condition that many rehab clinics offer treatment for
- >there have also been rumors that the rising cases of anorexia, bulimia and sudden disappearances due to an onset of morbid obesity among Hell's elite and celebrities can be linked to the drink
- >Beelzebub himself considers the drink his "best failed experiment", but has refused to give further details when pressed
- -
- >Ywn help verosika through her cold turkey
- -
- It's like dealing with a depressed foodie who has the munchies 24/7, and you literally have to stop her from chewing on her own tail, whilst ensuring she doesn't suddenly eat herself to death.
- She's also constantly crying about Blitzo, her career going bust (in reality, they're just between albums, and the studio got cold feet after hearing the rumors associated with Beelzejuice, and ordered her to quit), or not having any real friends (she's insecure about her crew, for obvious reasons).
- You're basically a combined therapist, dietician and personal trainer.
- It's exhausting.
- But it's worth it.
- Especially since succubi require semen as part of their natural diet, and since you're a sinner, she can't eat your soul anymore.
- Well, not without a contract, but she doesn't have the power or authority to make those.
- -
- Realtalk I would rather routinely fuck Blitzo and brag about it to her
- -----
- I like the idea that there's some extra exotic drugs that essentially do fucking magic, think something like project power but not RNG.
- ----
- >failed experiment
- Interesting...
- -
- It's Beelzebub we're talking about.
- Either he wanted people to get addicted to it and glut themselves (in which case, it largely failed, as only those who use it as appetite-suppressant become gluttons when they stop using it), or genuinely wanted to make something that can stop gluttony when it's convenient, only for it to fail in a way (that still punishes those where TECHNICALLY gluttonous with his drink).
- -
- clever way of going about it to be sure
- -
- I gotta admit I don't know much about the big bads of demonology. The only one I really have a handle on is Abbadon, and that's only because an /x/fag came and explained him and then I used it for a quick story. I forgot pretty much everything else he taught us.
- -
- To give you a quick rundown:
- >Lucifer:
- Pride. Prince of Lies. Punishes hubris.
- >Mammon:
- Avarice. The Golden Calf. Looks like fucking Harpagon from Moliére's "The Miser." Punishes greed.
- >Asmodeus:
- Lust. Stereotypical Ugly Bastard. Punishes lustfulness.
- >Abaddon/Apollyon:
- Sloth, more accurately despair. God accidentally created his dark mirror image. Will undo all of Creation eventually. Lives in the Abyss were all the sinners who died in Hell go. Replaced by sleepy-ass Belphegor in more popcultural works.
- >Satan:
- Wrath. The Accuser. The Punisher. Frozen up to his waist in ice, munching on Brutus & Co. Replaced by Moloch in some readings.
- >Leviathan:
- Envy. Giant seamonster. Punishes envy. Apparently.
- >Beelzebub:
- Gluttony. Lord of the Flies. Fat fuck. Former king of Hell. Punishes gluttons.
