Light Ball - Blinding

The motions of his hands grew more frenetic, and Jodah began to whisper something. The primata, the guards, the scribes, even Brother Tanar, leaned forward to catch his words. Voska looked away.

Jodah closed his eyes tightly and hoped that Voska would do the same. With a final flourish, Jodah unleashed his spell.

Even through eyes screwed tightly shut the light was intense, filling his vision. Jodah could imagine it spouting upward like a fountain, smashing into the ceiling and spreading outward in an intense column. It only lasted a moment. A moment of intense brilliance, and then the radiance was gone.

Jodah opened his eyes to find the Primata and most of the others on the ground, shouting and pawing at their blinded eyes. Voska had been ready for the spell and was now running at full tilt toward the curtained windows.
