  1. RosenkrantzGM IT IS THE 41ST MILLENNIUM...
  2. RosenkrantzGM You have spent a week in the Warp. The eerie feeling affects you all differently, but a general discomfort informs you from when you wake to when you sleep that you are indeed still in the Warp.
  3. RosenkrantzGM One particular night, rumors begin to circulate of a crew-wide nightmare... and you're not exception. The themes vary, but all variants of the night-terror include a dead and rotting Raven. Other than the superstitious reactions of the crew, not much ill seems to come from it.
  4. RosenkrantzGM Nothing except...
  5. RosenkrantzGM An ornately dressed man, a noble, wearing the colors of House Rosenkrantz enters the bridge... the stranger goes as far as even sitting on the command Throne!
  6. Lucretia blinks as the man sits on the command Throne but shrugs. Probably a relative of the Lord Captain. She focuses once more on the auspexes, looking at the almost empty cup of recaf.
  7. Varenus_Grandier exits the navigation chamber and makes his way to the bridge
  8. Varenus_Grandier enters and notices the man on the throne, and approaches
  9. Varenus_Grandier "Where might I find the lord captain?"
  10. Caerwyn_Beraht shuffles onto the bridge, looking a little stormy and sour. He is shadowed by his servants Aeronwen and Tao Xen. They look like they are keeping their distance.
  11. Neue-Ziel is recovering at the Medicae Deck.
  12. Makh_Chomun is currently running the Armsmen NCO's through leadership drills and self-defense tactics down below in the training barracks.
  13. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "Mr. Grandier? You wish to have a word?"
  14. Caerwyn_Beraht "Bonum manuc." He grunts, shuffling past his crew members. "Lord Captain may I, Emperor willing, have your ear?"
  15. RosenkrantzGM The bridge crew appears to shift uncomfortably.
  16. Varenus_Grandier "I don't believe we have met, but it seems you already know my name. I was actually looking for the Lord Captain, where may I find him?"
  17. Lucretia watches as their new boy of faith walks in with his respective retainers, having the first look at them since they had arrived. She studies them carefully, not being too obvious about it.
  18. RosenkrantzGM "Erm... just a moment, then Mr. Grandier. Yes... priest? Sorry, what /is/ your name?"
  19. Varenus_Grandier gives the man an odd look, trying to decipher the cause of his reaction
  20. Caerwyn_Beraht looks aghast. "Lord Captain, I assumed a man of your stature would know of me! Tsk, pudeticus!"
  21. RosenkrantzGM "If you could just speak your mind, boy..."
  22. Caerwyn_Beraht "I am Caerwyn Beraht, thank you very much. Son of Geraint Beraht! Questor Interlocutus and Confessor aboard this sin mired argosy! I-why, you-" Caerwyn composes himself.
  23. Caerwyn_Beraht "Lord Wilhelm, may I use the Vox system to deliver a short prayer?"
  24. Varenus_Grandier quietly ask the crew around him about the man in the throne
  25. Caerwyn_Beraht has dug out his aquilla necklace, thumbing string of beads, biting his tongue.
  26. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm sighs. "I feel I may come to regret this, but... yes, Lord Confessor. You may."
  27. RosenkrantzGM The crew looks up to the navigator, shrugging, indicating ignorance. No one seems to know who the man is... or why the priest refers to him as Lord-Captain.
  28. Caerwyn_Beraht "Thank you, m'lord." With a swift motion he directs Aeronwen to the vox station. The older woman mutters a quiet pray over the station, splashing it with some holy water. Caerwyn strides over.
  29. Varenus_Grandier composes himself and approaches the throne
  30. Varenus_Grandier "Who exactly are you?"
  31. Caerwyn_Beraht takes the vox piece. "Ahem, yes hello? Lend me thy attention, you churlish voidmen. Drop thy tasks and listen, for a representative of the God Emperor is speaking to YOU!"
  32. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm laughs. "Well, Mr. Grandier, I ask myself that very question every day!"
  33. Varenus_Grandier glares at him, not amused
  34. Varenus_Grandier "I demand to speak with the Lord Captain
  35. Varenus_Grandier ."
  36. Caerwyn_Beraht "Look at this fine vessel you sail on. Look at thy body, pure and in the EMperor's image. Contemplate thy mind, ruminate, consider the priviliege of your ignorance. Think, my children, think of what you would be if these things were to suddenly discorporate? You would be but animals!"
  37. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "You may speak, of course, Varenus. Would you prefer we go to a more... secure room?" he leans in, and asks, almost whispering, "Is it a sensitive matter?"
  38. Makh_Chomun calls a halt to the drills. "Emperor's balls, is that the new priest boy?" Makh's memory betrays him as he tries to recall why he would think it awkward for the confessor to give a prayer through the ship's vox.
  39. Varenus_Grandier "I am not amused by this, all I know is the Lord Captain isn't present and some upstart is in his command throne."
  40. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm instantly gets up from his throne.
  41. RosenkrantzGM "You forget yourself, Mr. Grandier."
  42. Varenus_Grandier "If this is some sort of mutiny I will not allow it."
  43. Caerwyn_Beraht "You stand over this reality, this pit, every day of your small lives. You dangle so dangerously, mired in sin. When you look at this dire thing that could be your life, you must remember, always remember, that there are but two things keeping you safe. The God-Emperor, and Lord Captain Wilhelm Friedrich Johnnes von Rosenkrantz."
  44. Varenus_Grandier shoots and glance at the boy
  45. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "Mutiny? You DARE make such an accusation?"
  46. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm presses on a rune on his command Throne.'
  47. Makh_Chomun "Wilhelm? Wilhelm Friederi- Downfield! Who the flippin' hell is this Wilhelm?" He yells out to his leftenant who is overseeing the drills from a higher station.
  48. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: +Mr. Chomun. This is the Lord-Captain. Report to the bridge immediately.+
  49. Varenus_Grandier " If not then explain why you sit upon the command throne, and none of the crew know who you are."
  50. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "HAVE YOU GONE MAD?!?!"
  51. Caerwyn_Beraht "Without the God-Emperor's faith, without the iron will of your liege-lord, thy precious souls would tumble away into darkness. Now, bow thy head, for I shall begin: "Imperator, gratias conatus benedicens his temporibus . Nostrae fidei firmat sese , vitae nobis custodientes , benedicens cum ignorantia. Ave Imperator. Et serviant tibi in perpetuum , Ave Imperator."
  52. Varenus_Grandier "Where is the Lord Captain?"
  53. Varenus_Grandier takes a defensive stance with his staff
  54. Caerwyn_Beraht turns to the mounting chaos. "What in the God-Emperor's name is going on back there! You are *ruining* my prayer! You scurrilous heretical fiends!"
  55. Lucretia stands up and turns around, the scream from the noble and the priest's line bringing her to. "What in the Throne's name is going on here?" She asks, annoyance in her voice.
  56. Makh_Chomun Makh pauses for a moment, not recognizing the voice, but recognizing the tone of authority, he assumes it is the Lord-Captain, but takes along a squad's worth of the men he's been drilling, just in case. "Downfield! Keep things running while I'm gone." With that he proceeds to the bridge.
  57. Varenus_Grandier "A stranger sits upon the command throne and claims ownership."
  58. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "Damn you, sir! Has your third-eye made you blind to the reality in front of you? You are to be confined to your Tower until you come to your senses! Armsmen! Escort Mr. Grandier to his quarters!"
  59. Caerwyn_Beraht "Stranger?! I thought I was the unintiated stripling! Surely you recognize your lord, Wilhlem of Rosenkrantz?"
  60. RosenkrantzGM The Armsmen do not react.
  61. Varenus_Grandier "Armsmen, please escort this man to a holding cell."
  62. Caerwyn_Beraht "Armsmen, do your duty to the God-Emperor and your liege lord!"
  63. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "Don't stand there looking like complete fools! Do as you're told!"
  64. Makh_Chomun Makh arrives on the bridge, still clothed in his drill fatigues, with similarly dressed armsmen in tow.
  65. Caerwyn_Beraht scampers over Lord Wilhelm, whispering in his ear: "M'lord, if this is some form of jest at my expense I implore you to stop! These peons seem serious!"
  66. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "Mr. Chomun! There you are, sir... apprehend the Navigator."
  67. Varenus_Grandier turns to Chomun
  68. Caerwyn_Beraht Tao Xen puts herself between the Caerwyn and the room, slowly stooping into a combat stance.
  69. Makh_Chomun "What is going on!? This is the bridge you welps!" He looks to the person on the command throne and stares for a moment.
  70. Varenus_Grandier "Have you any idea who this fool is?"
  71. Lucretia "Excuse me, my Lord but... is the Lord Captain ill?"
  72. Caerwyn_Beraht "I recognize only the fool before me! Stand down, mutant!
  73. Varenus_Grandier takes a step back and takes a breathe
  74. Makh_Chomun "Excuse me, my lord? Whoever you are, please de-throne yourself. No I don't recognize this man. Where is the Lord-Captain? Comms! Get me m'lord Heinrich!"
  75. Lucretia "Wait, wait wait! Everyone stand down!"
  76. Varenus_Grandier "Maybe I have gotten too heated."
  77. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm is red in the face, his fists closed tight.
  78. Caerwyn_Beraht "Listen to seneschal, you foolish lot! She is the most reasonable of all of you!"
  79. Varenus_Grandier "There must be a misunderstanding of sorts. You must be a relative of the Lord Captain."
  80. RosenkrantzGM "Mr. Chomun..." he growls
  81. Lucretia "My Lord, please get down here, if you would be so kind? Same with everyone else. This would be best taken to somewhere... private."
  82. Varenus_Grandier comes to a realization
  83. Varenus_Grandier "Yes, that would be best."
  84. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "This... is... OBSCENE!!" he slams his fist down on the arm of his Throne.
  85. Varenus_Grandier "I think I may have the cause of our conundrum."
  86. Makh_Chomun "Sir, I won't ask again, you obviously look important, but you are above your station. I will have you confined to a cabin."
  87. Caerwyn_Beraht raises his fist. "Hear hear! Your actions court the gaze of dark things!"
  88. Lucretia sighs and speaks into her micro-bead. "Medicae deck, I'll need some tranq up here ASAP and the person to administer it. Got a noble here acting up."
  89. Varenus_Grandier "Please please, let me explain what is going on."
  90. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "You have gone mad! Do you forget your allegiances! I will have you all thrown into the void for this!"
  91. Caerwyn_Beraht scratches his chin. "Loquere, Igituras."
  92. Varenus_Grandier "It would seem that we have experienced a warp phenomenon when we made the jump."
  93. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm glares at the Navigator, concerned.
  94. Varenus_Grandier looks around and says "It might be better to discuss this elsewhere."
  95. Lucretia "Thank you! Now, shall we take this to someplace less crowded?"
  96. Caerwyn_Beraht "Agreed. It would be reasonable to assume the warp has had a hand in all of this..."
  97. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "Prepare the Sensorium! And bring the Household Guard!"
  98. RosenkrantzGM He storms out of the bridge.
  99. Makh_Chomun "Well while you all sort it out, I'm going to make sure no one else assumes the command throne. Comms! I wanted Heinrich last week!"
  100. Lucretia races after the eccentric noble. "Wait!"
  101. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm turns.
  102. Varenus_Grandier follows quickly behind
  103. RosenkrantzGM "What is it now?! Perhaps you wish to cuff me, too?!"
  104. Lucretia "Why do you wish to use the Sensorium? And why the guard?"
  105. Lucretia "And my apologies, my lord, but this situation has gotten awfully strange."
  106. Varenus_Grandier "If we can all speak reasonably, I can explain this."
  107. RosenkrantzGM "The Sensorium can be sealed, and can be made into the most secure place on the ship. And the /guard/ is required, because LOYALTY will be greatly appreciated by those who are armed."
  108. Caerwyn_Beraht chaes after them, blathering about 'evil spirits'.
  109. RosenkrantzGM +Lord Heinrich will be entering the bridge momentarily.+
  110. Makh_Chomun throws a hand in exasperation. "Thank you."
  111. RosenkrantzGM The old noble calmly enters the bridge, reading from a dataslate.
  112. Lucretia waits a moment before speaking up. "Wouldn't it be best if nobody was armed? Things seem somewhat volatile and all."
  113. RosenkrantzGM "You wished to speak with me, Mr. Chomun?"
  114. Makh_Chomun Makh approaches the older man and gives him a chest-thump in salute. "M'lord. We seem to have a problem, some noble, I assume we're transporting, assumed the Lord-Captain's command throne. You don't have any direct relatives on the vessel that I'm not aware do you?"
  115. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "As Master and Commander of this vessel, I reserve the right to meet any threats to my authority with lethal force!"
  116. RosenkrantzGM Heinrich: "Oh? And have you had him arrested?"
  117. Caerwyn_Beraht "While that may be ture, Lord Wilhelm, I suspect this might be a problem that would best be handled by tact."
  118. Lucretia "Right..."
  119. Varenus_Grandier "My Lord, I believe many of the crew have been deceived by the warp, including myself. I sure if we can all be reasonable you will use your great wisdom to create a plan of action that does not require violence."
  120. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm grinds his teeth, eyes darting between you.
  121. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "WHERE IS THE GUARD!"
  122. Varenus_Grandier raises his hands in a submissive manner
  123. Makh_Chomun "The navigator, the confessor, and other assorted crew have escorted him to the sensorium to sort it all out. I was about to have him confined to a cabin in the luxury quarters." The Master-At-Arms pauses for a second. "Where is the Lord-Captain, m'lord?"
  124. Varenus_Grandier "The guards don't know who you are My Lord."
  125. Caerwyn_Beraht flinches, raising up his arms. "Throni salvum me innocentem!"
  126. Varenus_Grandier "Many of the crew do not."
  127. Lucretia sighs as she waits for the medicae personel.
  128. RosenkrantzGM Heinrich: "Wilhelm? Is he not in his chambers? Perhaps he's visiting a noblewoman on the Luxury Quarters..."
  129. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "The... guard?! THE GUARD?! Has EVERYONE gone mad?!"
  130. Makh_Chomun "Wilhelm....Who my lord?" Makh has a look of concerned confusion. "Who is this Wilhelm, m'lord?"
  131. Varenus_Grandier "Most yes, the warp is to blame. She is a wicked mistress."
  132. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm takes a few steps towards Varenus, standing not a foot away.
  133. RosenkrantzGM "This is YOUR fault!"
  134. Lucretia "Hey, hey! Calm down!"
  135. Varenus_Grandier "Is it a sailors fault when a storm breaks overhead?"
  136. RosenkrantzGM Heinrich: "Wilhelm? Wilhelm, Mr. Chomun. The man who employs you... are you well, sir?"
  137. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm hisses, "Fix it."
  138. Caerwyn_Beraht , fed up with this nonsense, begins to gently sway back and forth. He cantillates, hoping to drive off whatever phantasm is toying with them.
  139. Varenus_Grandier "All shall return to normal once the warp is exited."
  140. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm storms back into the bridge.
  141. Makh_Chomun Makh falters, his arms hanging by his sides as he racks his mind for this mysterious Wilhelm. "I-I am fit of body and mind sir, but I do not know this name or this man. Am I well?" He rubs his chin in thought.
  142. Varenus_Grandier follows Wilhelm to the bridge
  143. Lucretia continues to follow him, in case he tries anything.
  144. RosenkrantzGM Heinrich: "Mr. Chomun... perhaps you ought to visit the medicae deck."
  145. Caerwyn_Beraht "Et in nomine ejiciantus vostus....Et in nomine ejiciantus vostus..."
  146. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "Return this vessel to realspace, immediately!"
  147. Makh_Chomun "Perhaps I shall." He says before seeing the noble return to the bridge.
  148. RosenkrantzGM The crew doesn't even react, letting their superiors handle the madman.
  149. Varenus_Grandier "As you wish."
  150. Varenus_Grandier leaves for the Navigation chambers
  151. Makh_Chomun "I warned you, sir! Armsmen! Confine that man to the nearest luxury cabin!"
  152. Varenus_Grandier {Lucretia}+Please keep me informed.+
  153. Lucretia looks at Chomun, then at the noble. Her eyes pleading him to do something. +"Informed of what?+
  154. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm unholsters his laspistol.
  155. Varenus_Grandier +The situation of course.+
  156. Lucretia goes to draw her own revolver. "Drop it!"
  157. RosenkrantzGM Heinrich: "Wilhelm... show restraint. Mr. Chomun, stand your men down."
  158. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "You, too?!"
  159. Caerwyn_Beraht unsheathes his chainsword, its teeth letting out a low growl. "This is barbaric! Lucrezia, restrain yourself!"
  160. Lucretia "Hey, I'm not the one threatening everyone with a laspistol!"
  161. Caerwyn_Beraht stalks foward, chainsword held in a masterful fencing stance. "I don't want to hurt you...!"
  162. Makh_Chomun gives Heinrich a bewildered look, before he relaxes and signals for his men to stand down. He gives Heinrich a questioning look.
  163. RosenkrantzGM Heinrich: "No. Don't be stupid, boy. Do not escalate things further. We will resolve this, but you must restrain yourself and ease the situation."
  164. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm slowly lowers his weapon.
  165. Caerwyn_Beraht looks around, blushing and a little rattled. Perhaps pulling out his chainsword wasn't such a fantastic idea.
  166. Lucretia stands her ground but lowers her revolver, her eyes looking into the spinning teeth of the chainsword.
  167. RosenkrantzGM Heinrich takes a seat on the Command Throne, "Come, Wilhelm, stand by my side."
  168. Caerwyn_Beraht "Lucretia, do you understand what's going on here? We have been had. Foul things are toying with us."
  169. Caerwyn_Beraht sheathes his chainsword, muttering a pitiful little apology.
  170. RosenkrantzGM Heinrich: "Mr. Chomun, tell me, who is your Lord-Captain?"
  171. Lucretia "Frankly, Caerwyn, I don't even know what's going on... All I know is that I don't want blood spilled. Not today."
  172. Makh_Chomun Makh is silent for a time, staring off as he tries to remember.
  173. Caerwyn_Beraht "That 'Stranger' is your rightfu lord. You don't recognize him because the unreality of this place is hindering your senses."
  174. Makh_Chomun "I do not recall, as hard as I think I cannot think of who it is, I would think perhaps Johann, m'lord, but I have not seen his like in months."
  175. Lucretia slowly holsters her pistol with a sigh. "Twelve years among ships and I still hate this place..."
  176. RosenkrantzGM "Friend of Lord Castelan. The man who saved you from that awful life. Being in his employ has given you more freedom than you've ever known. What does the Lord-Captain look like? Focus on the details of his face."
  177. RosenkrantzGM "Think hard, Mr. Chomun," Heinrich tries to help you.
  178. Caerwyn_Beraht "Convenit, pulchrumas." He smiles at Lucretia. "This is just the tip of the iceberg. If you don't want to go deeper, be sure to come to confession."
  179. Caerwyn_Beraht "Don't want unnatural evil swimming around in your brain now, hm? Dictus orationibus!
  180. Lucretia sits and drinks up what was left of her recaf. "I haven't gone in fifteen years, would be a shame to break the streak." She comments with a tired and apologetic smile.
  181. Caerwyn_Beraht breaks out a small vile of holy water, splashing acorss the deckplate.
  182. Makh_Chomun Suddenly, like an ice-breaker cracking through a sheet of the ice of the arctic, Makh finally realizes who his Captain is...and he drops to his knees, prostrating himself. "It is M'lord Wilhelm Friedrich Johnnes von Rosenkrantz!"
  183. Caerwyn_Beraht "Praise be! This man can see the light!"
  184. Makh_Chomun "I do not know what had come over me, my liege, I have no excuse and accept any punishment you seem fit for my gross insubordination."
  185. Lucretia stands and walks away from the fridge. "I need a drink..."
  186. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "Nevermind that, Mr. Chomun. Reinstate order aboard this vessel. Everyone's seemingly gone mad."
  187. Varenus_Grandier +I am prepared for warp exit, inform the crew to prepare to jump into realspace.+
  188. Makh_Chomun "At once! All of you!" He motions to his bewildered armsmen to follow him out of the bridge and back towards the training barracks. He follows his orders to the t and begins to restore order to the ship. Though diplomacy works, so does skull-cracking and pile-driving.
  189. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: +Mr. Grandier. Maintain course to Port Wander. We cannot afford to waste any time.+
  190. Caerwyn_Beraht goes white. "After this brush with the unholy? M'lord, we at least need to re-bless the ship if we were to continue on!"
  191. Varenus_Grandier +Yes Lord Captain.+
  192. Caerwyn_Beraht "Better yet, I should take confession, so that I can confirm that the men are of sound mind."
  193. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "Priest, bathe every inch of this vessel with holy ointments, waters, and that Emperor-foresaken smoke. Uncle, maintain command until we exit the Warp. I will make myself invisible to the confused crew until they have come to their senses."
  194. Caerwyn_Beraht beams. "Excellent! I have the most wonderful conccotion to scrub the fetor of evil from these holy deckplates..." He jogs off, digging out his case of priestly accoutrementss.
  195. RosenkrantzGM =SKIPADOODLEDOO=
  196. RosenkrantzGM Yet another week passes by, Wilhelm has done a remarkable job of remaining "invisible" keeping busy with... various activities.
  197. RosenkrantzGM The crew has been largely pacified, satisfied with Heinrich as an authority figure.
  198. Makh_Chomun has the armsmen drilling even harder than usual to keep any doubt or questioning to a minimum.
  199. Lucretia continued doing her duties, the amount of recaf and amasec needed dropping with each day that passed. Maybe the warp was playing tricks on them?
  200. Neue-Ziel enters his office in the Engine Room and begins monitoring the ship.
  201. Makh_Chomun He has even set up a pugilist and wrestling tournament for the duration of the journey.
  202. Caerwyn_Beraht is in a rather sour state, perhaps adjusting to his new home. He spends most his days blessing the hallways of the ship, consecrating his confessor-temple, and reading tomes of esoteric imperial cult traditions.
  203. Caerwyn_Beraht also haunts the ship's librarium, trying to do some text translation on the side. He not very successful, but pouring through ancient texts usually takes more time than effort.
  204. Lucretia spends her free time reading in the librarium, trying her best to learn more high gothic.
  205. Neue-Ziel commands his servo-skull Fetch to get him "Passions of Battle 2: Electo Boogaloo" and "Inclinata pro dumme leute Latine" books from the librarium.
  206. RosenkrantzGM Loud ship-borne klaxons and alarms signal an exit out of the warp into realspace, as your journey comes to an end.
  207. RosenkrantzGM The sounds echoes throughout the ship, a deafening thing.
  208. Caerwyn_Beraht breathes a sigh of relief, thumbing his aquilla necklace.
  209. Lucretia squeezes the grip of her revolver, not letting go until they are back in the materium.
  210. RosenkrantzGM The ship's hums low, and loud, and then jolts, the force traveling from the rear of the ship to the prow figure on the bow.
  211. RosenkrantzGM ++REALSPACE TRANSITION COMPLETE++
  212. Varenus_Grandier +Complete.+
  213. RosenkrantzGM Augury and auspex systems scan, revealing you have entered the Rubycon II system, a red supergiant shining bright towards the port bow.
  214. Lucretia sighs as she sinks into her seat, moving a few stray stands of hair away from her face.
  215. RosenkrantzGM Data flashes on the bridge's holo-display:
  216. RosenkrantzGM +\\SYSTEM DATA FILE - Port Wander SECTOR: Calixis SUBSECTOR: Drusus Marches SYSTEM: Rubycon II, red supergiant star POPULATION: Approx. 5 million on station, 5 million in system CLASS: Battlefleet Calixis Orbital Station TITHE GRADE: Aptus Non//+
  217. Varenus_Grandier returns to the bridge and approaches the priest
  218. Varenus_Grandier "I...I would like to confess."
  219. Caerwyn_Beraht frowns, laying a hand upon the navigator. "SPeak into my ear, my son. Tell the God-Emperor of your weakness."
  220. Lucretia can't help but smile. "I always hoped to be posted here... never had the chance."
  221. Varenus_Grandier commences to describe in detail all of his heretical doing to the priest
  222. Neue-Ziel drinks his mineral water and continues monitoring the ship's systems.
  223. Caerwyn_Beraht shivers with anticipation. He hopes he can handle hearing whatever heinous sins this mutant has perpetrated. He nods along as his confession begins, muttering "possit remittitum" along the way.
  224. Caerwyn_Beraht "My son, creature of the God-Emperor, the necessary sin, know that you are now expiated. The God-Emperor only asks that you praise his name once per toll of the tocsin, and continue your unwavering duty in his name. Ave Imperator."
  225. Caerwyn_Beraht brushes off Grandier's shoulder. "He also asks that you keep your clothes in presentable condition."
  226. Varenus_Grandier nods and thanks him, then walks to Lucretia
  227. Varenus_Grandier whispers to her "Thought I'd let him feel useful."
  228. RosenkrantzGM The port itself is vast... an enormous structure. In the center, high spires stand, imposing, a veritable cityscape. Multiple expansions through the ages render the outer structures into a rather patchy affair. The ships coming into the port, some smaller and some larger than yours really give you a sense of perspective and scale. This is the final bastion of the Imperium's influence; beyond, the open Expanse awaits. As such, huge amounts of trade must pass through this port, and the wealth is more than apparent by the sheer traffic you see, the defensive installations, and the Battlefleet Calixis patrols that regularly visit it.
  229. Lucretia smiles slightly and nods.
  230. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm enters the bridge for the first time in over a week.
  231. Caerwyn_Beraht "What a mighty testament to the power of the Imperium." Caerwyn begins to swing his censer on a pendulum. "Utinam hac decentia locus."
  232. Makh_Chomun is busy preparing the armsmen and other assorted crew to prepare for docking.
  233. Lucretia notices Wilhelm enter and respectfully kneels down. "My Lord."
  234. Varenus_Grandier is studying in the librarium
  235. Caerwyn_Beraht "M'lord, I request that we bring the men to the cathedral, posthaste. If they are not reminded of their duty, they might pollute their bodies with daemonpiss and whore fluids. And little sins like these grow until they morph into dire heresy."
  236. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "I'm certain you'll entertain yourself on the /Solstice Imperialis/, Confessor Beraht, though the crew on furlough on a port of this size would be a mistake. They will remain on board the ship."
  237. Neue-Ziel sees nothing new on the monitors and proceeds to the Sensorium.
  238. Caerwyn_Beraht "Then you are inviting darkness to suborn them, Lord Wilhelm." He sprinkles some holy water on his hands, and then turns to face Lord Wilhlem. "Hold out your hands m'lord, it would be prudent to show the God-Emperor that you are contrite in your thoughtlessness."
  239. Lucretia "My Lord, if I may ask. How long shall we stay here for?"
  240. Neue-Ziel +Leader Magos Enginarium Katherine, you are in charge while I leave my post.+
  241. Varenus_Grandier enters the bridge with the others
  242. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "I will be doing no such thing, Lord Confessor. Lady Lucrezia, I am here to acquire star charts. I don't anticipate too long a delay. If anyone wishes to leave to port, be sure to remain connected to vox frequencies."
  243. RosenkrantzGM +Of course, Master Ziel. Will you be long?+
  244. Neue-Ziel +Unsure. I might investigate the port for more enhancements.+
  245. RosenkrantzGM +Go with the Omnissiah+
  246. Lucretia politely nods and stands back up. "I'll be sure to remain in contact."
  247. Caerwyn_Beraht "Lord Captain! I am adamant in this matter. Take. The. Water. Please."
  248. Caerwyn_Beraht "I WILL debate you."
  249. Neue-Ziel looks at his shiny new bionic arm as he enters the bridge.
  250. RosenkrantzGM "Mr. Chomun... do hold onto the ever-important vial of water for me."
  251. Lucretia walks up to the lot. "What's this about a vial of water?"
  252. Makh_Chomun turns from where he was observing one of the command consoles and approaches the Lord-Captain. "Of course, m'lord."
  253. Neue-Ziel "What's going on?"
  254. RosenkrantzGM The ship approaches a long docking arm, and slowly maneuvers into position to dock.
  255. Caerwyn_Beraht "Lord Wilhelm refuses to be cleanseed by the waters of expiation, Lady Lucretia! Can you counsel him against this foolishness?"
  256. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "These implants, Ziel... I am impressed by their effect. I tested them with a photon-flash grenade in my quarters."
  257. Lucretia "I'll gladly do it in his stead, if that will suffice? I am the person in charge of knowing what goes on in the vessel, after all. So I can keep an eye out for anything that goes against His Will."
  258. RosenkrantzGM "I intend to take more interest in the Priesthood of Mars from now on."
  259. Makh_Chomun "The Lord-Captain will do as he pleases, Mr. Beraht." Makh says with a wry smile.
  260. Neue-Ziel "I'm truly envious, My Lord-Captain. However, I did get something." Ziel shows off his new right arm.
  261. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm approaches you.
  262. RosenkrantzGM He punches you on the arm.
  263. RosenkrantzGM "Do you feel that?"
  264. Neue-Ziel "Ow."
  265. RosenkrantzGM "Remarkable..."
  266. Caerwyn_Beraht looks like he's about to tumble into a tantrum. "I am not asking him to fast, I'm asking to-" Caerwyn goes red, resisting the urge to argue. He turns to Lucretia, slowly taking her hand and anointing it with holy water. "Et suscipicum benedictionem , non est ex fide . Tuum perstringamim manubrium autem pulchritudinisium. Ave Imperator."
  267. RosenkrantzGM "Dine with me soon, Enginseer. I am interested to learn more."
  268. Neue-Ziel "Higher end models have special compartments. It allows the user to hide objects even a compact modified pistol. "
  269. RosenkrantzGM "Remarkable," he repeats, "Mr. Chomun, is my Escort prepared? I wish to enter Port as quickly as I am able."
  270. Lucretia smiles politely as Caerwyn does his rituals. "Well, I'll be doing any religious activities in our Lord's stead from now on, if he so wishes?"
  271. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm turns, and nods, "I so wish."
  272. Varenus_Grandier chuckles at the scene before him
  273. RosenkrantzGM He even gives her a quick wink.
  274. Makh_Chomun "They are awaiting your word, my lord."
  275. Caerwyn_Beraht "My lord!" Caerwyn croaks, throwing down his balled fist. "I hope you remember, when the chips are down, that the God Emperor protects his own." He notices the wink, and shrinks back into the corner.
  276. Lucretia follows Caerwyn. "Hey, I was being serious, you know?"
  277. RosenkrantzGM "Excellent. In that case, let them know I'm on my way now."
  278. Neue-Ziel "So Lucretia, you wanna take a look around the port?"
  279. Lucretia looks at Ziel. "Oh, certainly! But I need to finish some business with the good Confessor here."
  280. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm exits the bridge towards the port.
  281. Caerwyn_Beraht shoos away Lucretia, sullen. "His disrespect towards me and the God-EMperor is unacceptable."
  282. Neue-Ziel "I have no problem waiting."
  283. Caerwyn_Beraht calls for Tao Xen, requesting her to fetch a clean pair of robes. A grimace of disdain stretches across her face, but she silently does as she is told.
  284. Lucretia stares at Caerwyn. "Don't take it out on me."
  285. Caerwyn_Beraht looks at Lucretia sideways. "You...you..." He hims and haws, trying to forumlate some sort of explanation. He fails repeatedly, giving up on the endeavour entirely. "You're right. I apologize, my lady."
  286. Varenus_Grandier "My lady Lucretia, may I accompany you?"
  287. Caerwyn_Beraht "I too would like to escort you through the station, my lady. I have nothing better to do."
  288. Neue-Ziel [Binary] "Oh boy."
  289. Lucretia grins and nods. "Of course you all can accompany me! Just try to keep up." She finishes playfully."
  290. Varenus_Grandier "Be kind to an old man." he shoots back
  291. Neue-Ziel "Understood."
  292. Caerwyn_Beraht "No problem." Caerwyn cracks his knuckles, the painful popping causing the young priest to wince in pain.
  293. Neue-Ziel "Are you okay?"
  294. Lucretia "You okay?"
  295. Varenus_Grandier chuckles and gathers his gear
  296. Neue-Ziel commands his Servo-Skull to follow him.
  297. RosenkrantzGM As you all gather to the airlock nearest the bridge, Wilhelm awaits with a squad of armsmen.
  298. RosenkrantzGM The slide doors open up.
  299. RosenkrantzGM The buzzing noise of the port instantly floods in, and increases in volume as you walk in.
  300. Makh_Chomun has his Leftenants accompany him, he's planning on buying them all a drink or two.
  301. Lucretia is leading her party, with Bolton tagging along as well.
  302. Caerwyn_Beraht walks with the crew, swinging his censer side to side, trying to keep the filthy masses of the Imperial Peasantry away from his perfectly pressed robes. He keeps his eyes peeled for his ecclesiarchal brothers.
  303. Varenus_Grandier keep pace with the crew, enjoying the sights
  304. Caerwyn_Beraht "Custodium me a sordibus tuis!" He barks at a passerby who bumps into him. "I'm a priest!"
  305. RosenkrantzGM A group of merchants approaches your group, swarming you.
  306. Varenus_Grandier "Pax fratrem meum."
  307. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "Mr. Chomun, inform them I will not be taking any questions or receiving anyone during my stay" he leans in to say.
  308. Caerwyn_Beraht "The covetous appear. Would it be inappropriate for me to use house resources so that I might give them my custom?"
  309. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "If you can keep them away, priest, I may even bother with the hand-cleaning ritual."
  310. Makh_Chomun "Back the lot of you!" Makh roars as he pushes to the front of the crowd, warding them away with a shaking fist. "M'lord will not be seeking nor receiving any person this day. Try your luck with someone else!"
  311. RosenkrantzGM Suddenly, a small faction of the merchant mob turns aggressive, "What do you have to say for yourself!" one cries out, "Rosenkrantz aggression has frozen trade of valuable commodities along important routes!" another adds.
  312. Caerwyn_Beraht nods. "I shall spend your money to save your soul, then. You have have my thanks." He shouts at the merchants: "Hello! Hail, brothers! A representative of the God-Emperor has need of your services!"
  313. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "News travels fast..."
  314. Lucretia steps forwards. "What all this talk about agression and frozen trade?"
  315. Makh_Chomun "Hold your tongue welp! Before I cut it out." He then rattles his scabbard against his belt.
  316. RosenkrantzGM "The Florestal Consortium didn't cripple itself, now did it, woman?!"
  317. RosenkrantzGM "Talk about a hostile acquisition!"
  318. Lucretia "In fact, they bloody did! Not keeping their end of contracts and such. So research what you speak about before opening your mouths and spouting wrong information."
  319. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "Don't waste your time, Lady Lucrezia... these parasites will never accept the reality."
  320. Caerwyn_Beraht returns to the group, quite satisfied with whatever dealings he had with the merchants. "Why, what business do these moneylenders have with us?"
  321. RosenkrantzGM "You employ lowly gladiators, impostors no less! Colonel Tsaelad?! Hah! And you shield them from their crimes... the attempted murder of an Imperial noble, no less!"
  322. Neue-Ziel "Fools, all of them."
  323. Lucretia raises her hands. "What attempted murder?"
  324. RosenkrantzGM "That of my son" an older man comes forth, trappings of nobility about him. "Lord Selvan."
  325. Lucretia "That was a duel. He offended me. And last I heard he was on his way to recovery."
  326. Makh_Chomun chuckles at that particular memory.
  327. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm: "End this, Mr. Chomun, I have much to do."
  328. Caerwyn_Beraht "To even level such accusations against the VOICE of the Emperor is heresy, my good man! If you wish to bring this matter to debate, you should do it in the halls of the Cathedral, not out on the street like a rabble rouser!"
  329. Caerwyn_Beraht slinks back behind Makh, nervous despite talking so tough.
  330. RosenkrantzGM Arbites become uneasy and approach you.
  331. Makh_Chomun "Listen here, the lot of you, M'lord is the best there is, past, present, and future. Ohhhhh yeah, you better believe it, and if you doubt so, /if/ you really doubt it challenge me. Other wise don't waste my time, or m'lord precious time. We have business to do."
  332. RosenkrantzGM Sensing trouble, the merchants back off.
  333. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm enters a Star-Chart Tradehouse.
  334. Lucretia heads off to do Lucretia funtimes.
  335. RosenkrantzGM Heinrich: +We have an issue with the Port Authority+
  336. Lucretia +Did we took a reserved bay or something?+
  337. Makh_Chomun +Those welps spreading rumors again?+
  338. Caerwyn_Beraht +Utrumis super mendacibus. We can't let this go unpunished, the God-Emperor demands it.+
  339. RosenkrantzGM +Administratum officials are... calling in Terms of the Warrant.+
  340. Lucretia +As in... they are asking a favor or do you mean an audit?+
  341. RosenkrantzGM +Demanding one, under threat of the other, I'm afraid.+
  342. Lucretia +Well, I don't think we have anything to hide, do we?+
  343. Caerwyn_Beraht +Throne help us...+
  344. Lucretia +Oh wait, it's the other way around. What do they want of us?+
  345. RosenkrantzGM +They're pointing to the Rite of Visitation on the Rosenkrantz Warrant. We cannot -legally- refuse them.+
  346. Lucretia +Ah, well, not much we can do now, can we?+
  347. RosenkrantzGM +That's not all. They insist on a Tithe Marshall board the ship and oversee it.+
  348. RosenkrantzGM +Wilhelm, are you listening?+
  349. RosenkrantzGM +Is someone with him...? This requires some legal scrutiny. Not to mention it should be he who deals with this.+
  350. Neue-Ziel +I'm near the Star-Chart Tradehouse. I'll tell him.+
  351. Neue-Ziel enter the Star-Chart Tradehouse and tries to find Lord-Captain Wilhelm.
  352. RosenkrantzGM Armsmen stand inside the Tradehouse, but Wilhelm is nowhere to be seen. You can, however, hear his laughter echo from a back room.
  353. Neue-Ziel follows the laughter and enters the backroom.
  354. RosenkrantzGM You see him sitting at a table with a tradesman, several empty glasses on the table, another half-full glass on Wilhelm's hand.
  355. Neue-Ziel [Trader Cant] "Lord Wilhelm, I have terrible news."
  356. RosenkrantzGM He turns to you, his wide smile slowly receding to a neutral expression.
  357. RosenkrantzGM [Trader Cant] "I take it this can't wait?"
  358. Caerwyn_Beraht enters, a comically oversized chainblade strapped to his back. Furnished with some gold leaf, the phrase "Argumentum Ad Hominem" is written across the lenght of the blade. Caerwyn struggles to lug it around, but is quite proud to own it.
  359. Caerwyn_Beraht walks over, listening in to the conversation as it is occuring.
  360. RosenkrantzGM "Lord-Confessor, I see you've made good use of your funds."
  361. Caerwyn_Beraht "You spoil me, Lord Wilhelm. It is a mighty emblem of my faith, despite the crudity of its purpose. Perhaps seeing it in action will convince you to take up the mantle of faith once again."
  362. Neue-Ziel [Trader Cant] "The Administratumis demanding Tithe collection under the Rite of Visitation."
  363. Caerwyn_Beraht smirks. He'll get through to this guy yet.
  364. RosenkrantzGM [Trader Cant] "I see. We will get around to it during our journey."
  365. Neue-Ziel "Silence, boy. We have pressing matters."
  366. Neue-Ziel [Trader Cant] "They insist a Tithe Marshal be allowed to board the ship to oversee it."
  367. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm turns to the merchant sitting across for him. "It seems I must be going now. I appreciate your business, Mr. Randal. I hope to stop by when I return and enjoy your company."
  368. RosenkrantzGM "It would be my pleasure, Lord Wilhelm."
  369. Caerwyn_Beraht "I assume you are referring to the tithe? Ah, wait, I don't assume. I know. It would be best to consult legal and ecclesiarchal precedent and see if we can stop this effrontery."
  370. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm gets up and rushes out the door. "You... understand us?"
  371. Neue-Ziel [binary] "Like a little rat."
  372. RosenkrantzGM [Trader Cant] "And just who in the hell do these people think they are? This is an insult..."
  373. RosenkrantzGM The Armsmen struggle to keep up with Wilhelm's hurried pace.
  374. Caerwyn_Beraht "My Lord Wilhelm, I have picture perfect memory and have spent the vast majority of my life sifting through the languages and codes the Imperial canon is written in. You can scarecely create a secret language without me understanding it; they all have the same roots, after all."
  375. RosenkrantzGM "I must say... I am impressed. Join me for dinner, Lord Confessor, I am intrigued."
  376. RosenkrantzGM Reaching for his commbead, he places it on his ear. +Let these people know I will be reviewing their request soon.+
  377. RosenkrantzGM +In fact, invite them for dinner.+
  378. Neue-Ziel [Techna-lingua] "Oh, great. This won't be awkward at all."
  379. RosenkrantzGM Heinrich: +Imperial Adepts are not like the nobles back on Sophen, Wilhelm. Don't think you can wine and dine them into compliance... but I will let them know of your invitation.+
  380. Makh_Chomun +Shall I get the Bosun to make his special treat, Lord-Captain?"+
  381. Caerwyn_Beraht "MOre negotiating over food, then? I hope your provender is far better than the trash those merchants served us."
  382. RosenkrantzGM +Everything must be perfect, Mr. Chomun. Lady Lucrezia, see to it that everyone has appropriate attire, and that we have every necessary detail. Let us make use of the Sensorium if need be.+
  383. Lucretia +I'll see what I can do, my Lord.+
  384. Makh_Chomun +As you say, sir.+
  385. Caerwyn_Beraht +I shall assure that the dining area is properly blessed, m'lord+
  386. RosenkrantzGM "If I were to give you a legal tome, priest, how well could you remember details you read? And... how quickly could you read it?"
  387. Makh_Chomun During all of this, Makh took his subordinates out for some old fashioned drinks. While drinking ven Dreiger tells stories of the various weaponry he's seen in use in his service, Makh takes particular interest in the Auto-Cannon and immediately has one ordered for his personal use, for when things truly go to shit. Many jokes were made at the expense of Leftenant Downfield, much to her chagrin.
  388. Caerwyn_Beraht "I have perfect memory, m'lord. I would have it read in under an hour."
  389. Lucretia cuts her slumming short and returns to the ship in order to set things up for the dinner.
  390. RosenkrantzGM "Excellent, my boy," he pats you on the back, "excellent!"
  391. Caerwyn_Beraht beams, finally getting the praise he so deserves. He makes sure to get the tome in his possesion, postehaste.
  392. Neue-Ziel returns to the ship with his newly acquired cybernetics.
  393. Makh_Chomun Soon enough Makh returns to the ship, his somewhat inebriated subordinates in tow.
  394. Varenus_Grandier returns to the ship
  395. RosenkrantzGM Wilhelm immediately makes for the Librarium Vault once on the ship, looking for the Digesta Emproia Calixia, hoping to take advantage of his Ecclesiastical friend's talents.
