- Quagsire (make sure return is move slot 1, can also have Sleep talk taught in any other slot) with TM02 held
- slide pokemon with TM09 held - will be given to Quagsire after you set up the first set of boxes
- Bellsprout or Machop with Coin Case held - i prefer Bellsprout as it's at the top of the Pokedex if you switch to " A to Z mode" (will stay in that mode when you save game/reset)
- 4th pokemon - can hold any item (I normally do master ball/rare candy) - otherwise clone one of the above so you have 4 to set up ACE easier
