  1. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau kicked off a two-day trip to British Columbia with a 5K on March 2. He ran the monthly CFB Esquimalt Fleet Run alongside 300 members of the Canadian Forces.
  2.
  3. According to Canadian Running, Chief Petty Officer and Naval Combat Information Officer Kris Bucci said the winding and hilly course through the Esquimalt naval base was lined with sailors and other base employees. While the presence of military personnel gave the race a more competitive feel, Trudeau was in a chatty mood, smiling and interacting with fellow runners while keeping up an eight-minute-per-mile pace.
  4.
  5. Despite the fact that it was cold and rainy, Trudeau wore shorts, along with a pair of black and orange Asics. He took part in a pre-race warm up, which included squats, jumping jacks, and stretching.
  6.
  7. Trudeau ran the course in about 23 minutes and took the time to shake hands and take selfies with military members and their families afterwards.
