Yuu: But what should we do for New Year's preparations?

Tou: ...I can't think of anything except doing a big cleaning.

Yuu: Aya-chan began to prepare cleaning tools without even saying a word!

Fuu: Well, we're obviously going to do that, but cleaning doesn't exactly sound like a fun event for everyone...

Fuu: Sure thing, any ideas will do.

Aya: Why don't we all make traditional New Year's dishes? You can't celebrate New Year's Eve without them, after all.

Fuu: Alright, approved!

Yuu: Fuu-senpai, that was fast!

Fuu: Look, some of that stuff can keep for a while, and this is something you'd do to prepare for the New Year's celebrations anyway.

Tou: I agree. All of those dishes are said to bring luck, so I think it would be good if we all made them together.

Its: Bring luck?

Tou: All of the traditional New Year's dishes are meant to be talismans for good luck and longevity.

Yuu: Ah, I've heard about that! Like black beans meaning to have enough health to work hard enough to get calluses.[1]

Tou: Yeah, that. The datemaki omelettes resemble a scroll when rolled up, so they're said to increase your intelligence.

Its: I see... So it'd be a good idea to make those dishes for good luck, too!

Fuu: Alright, time to prepare things for cooking!

Its: I'll need to help out with the cooking, too!

Fuu: Uh, that's... Okay, there was that soba just recently, even Itsuki can do it if you keep an eye on her... I hope.
