Rata story pilot

"Ah damn she's fallen asleep again."
It was the third day in a row that this charade had played out, and John Carpenter was yet again presented with a sleeping ratatokr by the name of Emma Richards. She was short and plump with the signature enormous fluffy tail and big soft ears of her kind, and was currently snoring on her desk, a little louder than what could be called convincing. Nevertheless, he fell for it yet again, and as he hoisted her up into her arms before picking up her bag, began to carry her out of the lecture hall.
The both of them were keen sociology students, and often during lectures could be seen holding hands and whispering sweet things into one another's ears. It was strange how it had come to be; she had turned around too quickly at one point and found his face buried in her enormous and soft tail. Ever since then, they'd struck up a happy friendship, and although they had never discussed it, were  now a very happy and passionate couple, spending hours cuddled up to one another beneath blankets watching films, kissing, and fairly often, having sex. But these days it seemed to always end with him taking her home, getting persuaded to stay, making a nice dinner, then spending the night wrapped in one another's embrace.

As he carried her out of the lecture hall, she woke up slowly and smiled a coy little smile at him, and gave him a quick kiss on the lips.
"Mmm, my hero carrying me home again~"
He blushed. He realised now that he'd been tricked. Played like a damn fiddle.
"You don't need to fake being asleep, honestly," he said with a sheepish grin. Being played wasn't all that bad, although there was something that was bothering him. He had not slept in his dorm for two whole nights now, and had not sat down before his computer for several days.
He voiced these thoughts to her, hoping to find a compromise.
"Hmmmm" was Emma's response.
"You could just take me back to your dorm y'know. After that we could take it in turns with whose place we stay at."
So simple was the solution that he was taken aback for a second.
"Alright, sounds good" he said, altering his route to head towards his dorm.
As they arrived at the door he realised something.
"Just so you know, I haven't got as many pillows and blankets as you so-"
He was hoping she'd say that her tail would suffice. He was mistaken.
"Then be a lamb and pick them up from my dorm for me, here are the keys"
She plopped the keys into his hand, beaming up at him.
"I'll be waiting for you~"
