-edit- the full treatment lasts a month(if you're careful, only a week of constant exposure). touchups extend it by either a month(if you're careful) if preformed in the underworld or shadowland at night, or a week(day if careless/totally exposed) if done in creation proper or a shadowland during the day. if either ritual is preformed in creation it must be done at night(being out of the sun isn't enough for the ritual (even though that does protect the jade))
-edit- players can typically assume they manage the lesser treatment for any personal scale equipment unless truely pressed (same way you typically poop 'off screen'), this is meant more as a concern for fielding armies and a way of restricting somewhat the utility of the underworld's massive jade deposits without fucking it completely/forcing abyssals to use soulsteel exclusively.
(-edit- for fluff lets say the lesser maintaining treatment is akin to ritualistically oiling a katana(all weapons), cleaning armor(duh), or waxing a car(necrotech) in terms of time and difficulty, and as for materials a healthlevel of two of the abyssal's own blood(it's close enough to ghostblood to work here(helped along by the attunement, so you can't substitute some other abyssal's blood), other exalt types (or mortals) have to use the real stuff(ghost juice), or use the more expensive regents of the alternate procedure(although this lesser version doesn't see it's difficulty increase for that)) is sufficient for a daiklave and some armor and maybe even the jade components of a nerotech mount(components, not heavy jade armor plating)(but that stretches the limits. (much more than a couple weapons and some armor requires it's own ritual with another 1-2 hl of blood)) when mixed with a few moderately common regents and thinned with blade oil.)
