  224. [Scout's Log #18]
  225. Our group went out in force. Hound-Master Louise, his pack, and Recruit Stan returned to the camp with the intent to hunt down this creature. Scout Dan, Recruit Stan, and myself took turns going out with Hound-master Louise on search patrols through possible paths it may have taken. There were signs the creature was watching our camp, so we kept three at the camp at all times. We weren’t watching carefully enough.
  226.
  227. The creature took the shape of a bear and attacked our patrol. We fought it off, but on our way back it took Recruit Stan. Then, it took the form of a bobcat and attacked our camp. It teleported itself into a rucksack, ate or destroyed our supplies, and destroyed the tent. It also left droppings in Scout Dan’s sleeping bag.
  228.
  229. With our supplies compromised and a member missing, we decided to fall back to the outpost for reinforcements, Magister Zell’s arrival, or both. On our way back, we found Recruit Stan unconscious and tied to a tree. He was also naked. When we untied him, we found the beast had left runes painted across Recruit Stan’s stomach. We copied the runes as best as we could, took a sample of the blood, and sent it all to Magister Zell via a courier when we returned to the outpost. We currently await the Magister’s findings.
  230.
  231. [Return Message from Magister Zell]
  232. Did you copy the runes exactly? As far as I can tell they aren't magical. They aren't even runes, it's just really bad English. The message reads "Fuk off, were full"
  233.
  234. >scouts never came back
  235. >think they got the message
  236. >back to my old games
  237. >not bored out of my mind
  238. >managed to reach 400s in tree counting before losing count
  239. >cat isn't even mad about being catnapped, no need to renegotiate NAP
  240. >still no fish caught
  241. >NOT BORED
  242. >new presence in the forest
  243. >very familiar feel: witches
  244. >mixed with people
  245. >when could I sense stuff?
  246. >nvm, decide to investigate
  247. >not because I'm bored
  248.
  249. >follow the feeling
  250. >leads to some twink with box
  251. >well this sucks
  252. >debating how to debase when twink makes a circle
  253. >with blood
  254. >WTFing when the twink talks
  255. >"We want to negotiate"
  256. >don't negotiate with terrorists
  257. >don't want to touch the AIDs circle either
  258. >about to try throwing stuff when I notice the box
  259. >wouldn't hurt to look, right?
  260.
  261. >food: can't
  262. >bottled drinks: got a river
  263. >glowing drinks: fuck no
  264. >an axe: mmm maybe
  265. >nothing really interesting
  266. >wait, wuzzdat on the bottom?
  267. >is that? could it be?
  268. >a single round of .308
  269. >upend entire box to get to it
  270. >hold it in front of the twink
  271. >try and say "Bring me more!"
  272. >words come out garbled
  273. >twink gives me weird look "P-pardon?"
  274. >too much teeth, cant talk right
  275. >try more slowy "BRING MORE. TALK"
  276. >do i really sound like that?
  277.
  278. >who's got two thumbs and new friends?
  279. >not this guy
  280. >hard time counting appendages
  281. >also, they're not friends
  282. >twink came back with the box
  283. >had to bring rando and axe-guy to carry it
  284. >heavy crate of 308, fuck yeah
  285. >hiding behind an AIDs circle
  286. >approach, but stay out of sight
  287. >they know I'm here
  288. >quiet must not be normal in the forest
  289.
  290. >twink keeping a straight face
  291. >rando looks nervous
  292. >axe-guy scowls at me, ready to attack
  293. >only really care about the box
  294. >twink starts "We've come to negotiate"
  295. >just nod, learned last visit talking awkward
  296. >"We want the forest, the river and the ruins. We want your allegiance, or your departure"
  297. >big brass balls to ask all that
  298. >respond with mocking laughter
  299. >laughter echoes around woods, nice
  300. >respond loud and slow "LEAVE BOX. LEAVE WITH LIVES."
  301. >twink hasn't changed, rando about to piss himself again, axe-guy looks losses
  302. >twink waves to the box "This is a witch's box. We need more than that. The river ans the ruins."
  303. >box sounds neat
  304. >STALKER challenge isn't fun without challenge
  305. >'YOUR LIVES. THE RUINS."
  306. >twink starting to sweat "and the river?"
  307. >"DRINK. NO TAKE. BRING AMMO EACH VISIT."
  308. >axe-guy speaks up "and what guarantee do we have?"
  309. >twink and axe-guy have whispering argument
  310. >didn't really listen
  311. >twink talks again "What sign of good faith can you offer?"
  312. >sounds like they dont trust me
  313. >must've been the bobcat
  314. >don't really need extra teeth
  315. >pull out as many as I can
  316. >step out of the shadows and pour teeth in front of them
  317. >"MY MARK."
  318. >twink and rando look like they gonna hurl
  319. >axe-guy turning green
  320. >"WEAR AND YOU LIVE."
  321. >rando finally talks "A-and you'll l-leave us a-alone?"
  322. >"NO KILLING. ONLY FUN."
  323. >"We accept your terms." twink says
  324. >ammo, a new game, and a STALKER challenge, jackpot
  325. >what could possibly go wrong
