- Months of furious practice followed the final manifestation of Ifrit’s Claw. Rosaline practiced and practiced and practiced. Each day she would rise in the morning and begin by following her mastered steps. A funnel of wind would swirl around her arms, becoming so easy it was like second nature. Fire flooded outwards from her palms -- she knew how to do that like the back of her hand.
- The real challenge came with regulating the merging of wind and fire. Every time, it came out a little bit different: either the flames or the winds would be stronger, but it really didn’t seem to make a difference. It just bothered her.
- So she practiced. Several times a day she would manifest the Claw, using her magic to twist and move it as if the pieces of her own little puzzle were muscles. Each time she did it, it grew a bit easier, a bit more natural.
- Her father’s voice echoed in her head:
- “Rosaline, the more you stretch a muscle, the more flexible it will be the next time around. The same goes for your magic. Practice it enough time, and it will be like second nature.”

- The final day came. In the morning she rose, and sat atop her cliffside, staring out at today's view: the praries. Rosaline traveled more than she should, leaving less time for her training than she ought to have. However, she always had two dedicated moments, set aside directly for her dedication: Ifrit's Claw. Morning and night were the most peaceful times of the day, she considered, and used this to her advantage.
- A burst of wind and fire began her manifestation. They swirled and twirled in tandem around the curvature of her arm, moving outwards to form a vicious claw at her hand. Rosaline had learned the shortcuts, and things got easier each day. Almost immediately could she summon the claw: a final burst of will and Boreas' winds sent the fire merging with the wind, creating a roaring claw named so fittingly after a yokai.
- With such ease, Rosaline came to a decision: it was time to whip out the claw in combat.
