  1. [5:52 PM] Foxglove: Btw, was there supposed to be anything about Omicron Zeta when you asked whether I remember it? :D
  2. [5:53 PM] Foxglove: I've sent to to a couple friends in my whatsapp groups(edited)
  3. [5:53 PM] Durandal: Oh yeah
  4. [5:53 PM] Durandal: So I had a thought
  5. [5:54 PM] Durandal: What if there are no DKV because they let the nomads kill them?
  6. [5:55 PM] Durandal: Not because the nomads turned on them, but the DKV literally went fullblown apologist for engineering them, and allowed their own creations to judge them.
  7. [5:55 PM] Durandal: And the ruling of their judgement was that the DKV ought be executed.
  8. [5:55 PM] Durandal: Its a weird thought.
  9. [5:56 PM] Durandal: I just wanted to maybe try and approach the DKV thing from an angle nobody has before.
  10. [5:56 PM] Foxglove: It begs the question why the Nomads wouldn't remember that. Grief?
  11. [5:56 PM] Foxglove: Maybe they went to sleep themselves as a sort of hard reset of their collected memory.
  12. [5:56 PM] Durandal: Yes. So they 'forgot' about the reliquary at Zeta.
  13. [5:56 PM] Durandal: Maybe it even served as a catalyst for a civil war.
  14. [5:57 PM] Durandal: One which may begin again if they discover the remains of their ancestors.
  15. [5:57 PM] Durandal: I feel like I'm writing a backstory to a metal album.
  16. [5:58 PM] Foxglove: If we go with the scenario of one Nomad side against the other, it could be because one side found out the truth, that they are the reason why the DKV are not there anymore.
  17. [5:58 PM] Durandal: Yep.
  18. [5:58 PM] Durandal: I think its fucking boss.
  19. [5:58 PM] Durandal: But maybe I'm wrong.
  20. [5:58 PM] Durandal: What are your feelings on it?
  21. [6:00 PM] Foxglove: I do like the approach. The biggest inconsistency I see here, though is that the Nomads have always portrayed to be loyal to their creators. The initial story went that the Nomads were supposed to populate Sirius and find the vaults like Valhalla One along the way which would supply them with knowledge and tech to grow and ultimately mature as a species so they wouldn't be dependent on the DKV anymore.
  22. [6:00 PM] Durandal: They wouldn't have known otherwise.
  23. [6:00 PM] Durandal: Due to their voluntary 'reset'
  24. [6:01 PM] Foxglove: You mean that, with the reset, they were the one who infantilized themselves?
  25. [6:01 PM] Durandal: It would be how they chose to remember their creators, yes.
  26. [6:01 PM] Durandal: The civil war was so costly that they just chose to forget.
  27. [6:01 PM] Foxglove: That is actually a good thought.
  28. [6:02 PM] Foxglove: I do like it a lot.
  29. [6:03 PM] Foxglove: It would need to be elaborated on and put in the game in terms of infocards et cetera, but I do think the foundations are really solid.
  30. [6:03 PM] Durandal: It gives the nomads a depth that wasn't there previously.
  31. [6:03 PM] Durandal: I think the big question is
  32. [6:03 PM] Durandal: If the nomads chose to forget about the tomb at zeta,
  33. [6:04 PM] Durandal: How come they rediscovered it now?
  34. [6:04 PM] Durandal: Why didn't they stumble across it by accident sooner? Why didn't they sever the jump links?
  35. [6:05 PM] Durandal: Jump drives are a new technology. Maybe they discover it that way and turn the gate on from the inside.
  36. [6:05 PM] Durandal: As in, Wild discover it with a jump ship.
  37. [6:05 PM] Durandal: The Musashi?
