- Challenge 3: Puzzlesmith
- Challenge 3! Cow voted out at last council.
- This time, Drake will be sitting out 2 players.
- Well, now's a good time to be scratching your heads. Some of these puzzles will be familiar, some will be doggone headache worthy, but hey, why else work as a team, right?
- 6 of you, each of you get 1 puzzle.
- You can collaborate with your team to figure them out, as long as you submit the correct choice in for your own puzzle, you're good to go.
- Each puzzle is worth 1 point.
- If it comes down to a tie, 6/6 vs 6/6, I have a tiebreaker ready for you. Just be ready to nominate a player to face off in it, since it'll be live. Anyone with a timezone near EST is recommended, but anybody's valid EXCEPT for those who sit out.
- If you're sitting out, you're out of the challenge until council.
- Now for the puzzles;
- 1) Easy Word Puzzle. Not anything that takes more than 5 minutes unless you're really having a bad day. Not sure what I've got to tell you about this one..Review your Alphabet? Big Grin
- 2) Medium Word Puzzle. This might take you a while, but it's worth the fight. It includes a little math, but more or less deals with the structure of the question than anything else.
- 3) Hard Word Puzzle. I mean, it's not as hard as the math one, but it's still a head-scratcher. Will take you a good while, definitely a good task for the ones with quick minds. Logic, too, yeah you'll need that with this one.
- 4) Easy Math Puzzle. This one isn't too bad, nothing a little trial and error couldn't handle. Charting this out with paper is recommended, so you can grasp it in your head.
- 5) Medium Math Puzzle. A calculator and knowing your operations are a total tool for this one, be ready to get down and clever. This shouldn't take anything above 20-30 minutes, maybe less if you're quick.
- 6) Hard Math Puzzle. Not gonna lie to you, this one hurt. A calculator also helps in this one, I'd have one ready. Personally, this took me an hour since I never liked math, so 20-30 minutes for the quick ones of course.
- Footnotes;
- -Puzzle #5 and #6 were closely ranked in difficulty, was a tough choice to differ.
- -None of these are pure riddles OR Sudoku, too unoriginal at this point.
- -Slack is recommended for quicker contact with your teammates in working this out, the forum takes a while.
- I also can promise almost immediate response on Slack to check your submission, whereas the forum might take a while.
- Steam and Skype are quicker than the forum but slower than slack, so if you've got those, it's a gamble as to how quick I'd get to respond.
- Ah, and by checking your submission, yes, you can submit as many times as you want. I'm only taking your most recent shot, though.
- I have prepared messages for *Incorrect*/*Correct* for each individual puzzle, so you'll know whether or not you got it right.
- Submit 10x in the same bit, though, I'm only responding to the most recent one (That has a submission in it, questions do not interfere with submissions)
- Be sure to label your PM with something that tells me it's a submission or questions, helps organizing a ton.
- That all being said, you've got 24 hours to choose who's doing what in your tribe.
- Please, more than 3-4 people reply / tribe.
- Drake, let me know who's sitting out or I'll just take whoever's 2 names that didn't get mentioned.
- If I still don't know who's doing what by the end of the 24 hours, I'm giving one last 24 hours and I'll contact whomever personally.
- If by then, still no response, a tribe won't have the full 6ix (True fans will get that pun) to do the challenge.
- And no, you can't do 2 puzzles for your tribe.
- Puzzle details are sent individually, and will be sent once I get a clear view on who's getting what.
- So hustle, discuss, get your choices in! Good luck, trust me, you'll be needing it for what I've cooked up Wink
- Choices are due 4:00PM EST, January 27th, 2016. Get 'em in.
