NaRi is a fluffy ball of hyper and weird sunshine. She’s a complete tomboy that hates anything girly, and has a natural aptitude for sports. She could destroy you at almost any sport without breaking a sweat and is an extremely quick learner. Ri is very innocent and immature, and probably the least responsible person ever. She is basically a three year old in the body of a twenty year old and is a total aegyo machine. She’s very stubborn, and will do whatever she sets her mind on, usually getting her in trouble, and is the type to jump headfirst into a situation without thinking. She never runs out of energy and is, hands down, the weirdest and craziest person you will ever meet. This girl doesn’t seem to have an off switch and is always bouncing off the walls with energy. Ri is a proud ARMY, iGOT7, EXO-L, Carat, Starlight, LEGO, ONCE, she could go on and on. Ri stans way too many Kpop groups to keep track, and makes a Kpop reference out of everything. She knows the choreography to almost every song you can think of, and doesn’t hesitate to dance when she hears music, and makes up the silliest dances, but she has very precise and flowing dance moves when she actually performs, due to her rhythmic dance background, earning much admiration. She doesn’t seem to know what the words “quiet” or “too loud” mean, and never stops talking. She usually speaks whatever’s on her mind, but doesn’t mean to hurt anyone’s feelings. Ri always has an out of the box weird thing to say, and has the weirdest thoughts to voice. While the other people take cute or sexy selcas, Ri takes weird selcas to the next level by making the craziest and weirdest derp faces and adding some pretty weird things, like her brother’s socks, into the selca. She’ll just randomly yell things out, mostly in Chinese, and it always startles the people around her. She’s always playing pranks and tormenting her brother and friends, and especially loves photobombing their selcas. She eats at a humanly impossible rate and amount and never seems to stop eating. Along with her wacky personality, she is super flexible and can bend her body into some pretty wacky shapes, weirding out her friends while doing so. Even though she seems like an outgoing, wacky girl that doesn't seem like she cares about the haters, she actually has quite low self-esteem from when she was bullied in her younger years. She thinks of herself as the untalented and unattractive, and she goes to her older brother first when she needs support the most. She gets flustered very easily, and she will blush furiously at any comment or any sweet act directed her way. Because she’s so innocent and vulnerable, Ri gets hurt very easily, and her friends and brother try their best to protect her, but they can't protect her from everything can they? Don't ever get her mad, or else you are as good as dead, and if you make her cry, you will feel like you heard is being ripped to shreds.


»Background:
Born in China and raised in Korea, Ri grew up with very supportive and loving parents. She was encouraged to follow her dreams and her parents were with her every step of the way. They saved up money to take her and her brother to all their extra curricular activities from basketball to violin to wushu. Ri saw her brother reach great heights with his bboying and wushu, and while she was immensely proud of him, she also felt a need to be just as good. Ri had always been fascinated with music and dance from a very young age. She loved composing and choreographing little dances and performing them to her friends and family with her brother, and her parents took her to many dance and music classes. Ri met L/I one dance club meeting in first grade, when she was paired up with him to and perform a duet for a competition. They became close friends, and were absolutely inseparable. They did everything together and treated each other like siblings. They were put in the same classes, same teachers, and were always seat mates. Ri started developing feelings for L/I, but put it off as nothing much. She fell in love with the flowing and flexible movements of rhythmic gymnastics and the powerful and dynamic movements of artistic gymnastics, and begged her parents to allow her to take lesson. She was a fast learner, and soon made quite a name for herself, winning both national and international titles. When her brother and L/I were scouted to be trainees for Pledis, she was sad to see them go, but extremely happy for them. She texted and FaceTime them as much as possible, when her and their schedule allowed. Ri had such a crazy schedule, having to wake up at 4am in the morning to go to gymnastics practice, and having to travel all around the world for competitions, she was rarely able to experience things kids her age did. She was still required to get straight A’s, and eat three meals a day though, no matter how hectic her schedule got, and never forgot to text or FaceTime her brother and best friend every day. She experienced a lot of bullying, having people telling her she was a nerd and had no life, due to her overflowing schedule and straight A grades. Through it all though, she never dropped her bubbly personality or smile, and stayed strong.

They had been in the same dance class since forever, but didn't really get to know each other until they were paired up to do a duet in first grade to perform at a competition. They got to know each other better after every dance practice, and became close friends. They won first place.

Why it happen?
Ri has had a crush on L/I for the longest time. She couldn't like anyone else because all she could see was him. Ri saw all the other girls at school that liked him, and was sure that L/I liked one of them. He was always doing sweet things for her, but it seemed to be out of friendship and not out of love, so she was always too scared to confess, thinking that he didn't like her, and she was too afraid of rejection. She worried that if she confessed, it would ruin their friendship. Even after all those years, Ri was never able to gather enough courage to confess. She was going to finally confess the day he and Minghao left, but she couldn't do it, too afraid she would be rejected.

Valentine's Day when they are in seventh grade, and Ri is sad that she got nothing while her other friends had so much. The reason was because Minghao and L/I had chased away all the guys that wanted to confess, unknown to Ri of course, and she's sitting in a tree moping. L/I joined her and hands her chocolates, boba tea, and a teddy bear, telling her to cheer up (shut up babyyy!!). They spend a long time just talking, and it leaves Ri very confused about L/i’s actions.

Scene from when they were really young, and Minghao, Ri, L/I, and Tingting, and their families, are all on a camping trip. The kids run off into the woods to play hide and seek, and Ri falls and scrapes her knee while running. She starts crying on the ground, and L/I hears her. He rushes over, and tries to help her get back to the campground. Ri doesn't want her parents getting mad at her, so L/I sneaks bandages and ointment from the campsite, and treats her wounds for her.

When they were in middle school, L/i sneaks into Ri’s room on her birthday when she’s grounded and wasn’t allowed to celebrate. She was in a rotten mood, and L/i cheered her up, bringing a cupcake, chocolate of course, and some ice cream, also chocolate. He got her a boxed Harry Potter set, so she wouldn’t have to check the books out from the library every time, and an assortment of cute stuffed animals. They spent the night hanging out and talking.

L/i and Ri get paired up to do a dance project together when they were in middle school, and Minghao is furious, being overprotective as always, and worrying that something might happen between the two. They were taking a break from choreographing and practicing when their heads get closer and closer, until they almost kiss, but Minghao walks in on this, and goes ballistic, screaming in Chinese at the two. After, Minghao watches the two to make sure nothing else like that happens again.

Ri and L/i set up Minghao and Tingting on a date, and watch from afar at how adorably flustered they are. They stalk the two as they go to different places and get really excited when the two start getting closer and more comfortable with each other, ending with Minghao asking her out to go on another date. It’s something both Minghao and Tingting look back on with gratitude towards the two younger ones, as it broke the ice between them. (I mean if someone uses The8 as a L/i, this might not work then….. I cri bc now i ship my OC with Minghao lol Tinghao is my new OTP XD)

Ri goes to visit SEVENTEEN on one of her free days. She ran into L/I, and both fell to the ground in an awkward position. Vernon had the fortune of being able to witness this, and starts laughing, attracting the other members. Minghao starts yelling in Chinese, which only Ri and Jun can understand, and the others are just laughing at the two awkward people blushing furiously on the ground.

L/i takes Ri to the beach and amusement park before he leaves to become a trainee. They have an entire day of fun, plus a sleepover at Ri’s house, and end with Ri escorting L/i to the airport. L/I is about to confess when his flight is called, and he has to leave.

They haven't seen each other in person for a few months, and both are overjoyed to see each other. Ri runs up to him and tackles him in a bear hug, almost knocking him over, and then immediately backs off, both of them getting awkward.

Ri finds L/I sitting a practice room writing things in his notebook. She’s about to jump scare him when he gets frustrated, and storms out of the room, leaving his notebook. Ri gets scared and ducks behind a corner for fear of being caught, as she’s never seen him so angry, and quietly muses to herself that L/i is not all cuteness and sunshines after all. She sneaks into the practice room to find out what got him so worked up, and sees that he couldn’t finish a dance he was choreographing. The song happened to be to a song she knew very well, and she goes over the part of dance he’s already choreographed, thinking about how she could finish the dance for him. She writes in her ending of the dance with some suggestions for moves she thought didn’t flow well, and quietly leaves the room before he comes back. She doesn’t know that he was watching her the entire time. L/i choreographs a second version of the dance as a duet.

The two walk into SEVENTEEN dorm, L/I with his arm slung over Ri’s shoulder and both talking and laughing. All of the other members are all ooohing and making kissy faces at them. Ft. Minghao on the side, giving L/I the stink eye hehe.

The agency arranged them to go to the same campsite they went to as kids. They spend the weekend there, just reliving the memories of the past. They did all the things they did as kids, and there were a lot of “Do you remember when…..” and Ri almost confesses, but backs out again.

Ri wanted to visit her parents who were back in China, and L/I wanted to come with her. When Ri almost gets run over by a car, L/i popps out of nowhere, and pushes her out of the way. L/i finally realises he loves Ri, but he doesn’t know how to confess though, and starts to drift away from her, leaving Ri extremely confused and hurt. Just a few days ago, he was fine, it’s not like him to become so distant and cold towards her.

Both start ignoring the other, leaving Minghao and the other members confused and worried about the two. L/i tells Minghao about his feelings after about a month of this, and how he doesn’t know how to express them, but by then it was too late. Ri was walking around mindlessly, stuck in her hurt and misery, and doesn’t notice that she crossed the road on a red light or hear the honks of the oncoming car. This time, L/i isn’t there to push her out of the way, and she gets hit by the oncoming car. The last thing she says and thinks is L/i’s name. She’s rushed to the hospital, and they find out she’s stuck in a coma. Upon hearing the news, SEVENTEEN and Tingting immediately rush to the hospital. Everyone breaks down once they see the once bright and hyper girl, now lying motionless and cold in a hospital room. L/i breaks down and confesses right then and there to her, but there’s no way to get Ri out of the coma, only just to wait and see. (hoho plot twist, u thought i was gonna give a happy ending)

L/i, Minghao, and Tingting aren’t the same after Ri gets put into a coma. They visit her every day, and talk to her like she’s still with them, telling her their daily lives. Every day, L/i comes in secret again to Ri with one red rose. He puts it in a glass vase with the previous ones and takes a polaroid picture that he puts in an album with they day number, to count the days until she wakes up. Minghao and L/i pretend to be happy and cheerful onstage, but once they get back to the dorm, they slip into darkness again. The happy-go-lucky members of seventeen are gone now, and replaced with empty shells of them, all mourning Ri’s missing presence.

On the one hundredth and fiftieth day, Ri’s finger starts moving while the three are there, and they explode with happiness. Little by little, Ri is able to move her hand and then arm. The old selves of everyone are slowly returned as Ri returned. One day, she finally opens her eyes, but she doesn't know anyone except L/I, his name being the first thing that pops into her head. (I'm too soft for sad a ending haha)

Ri gains her strength and memory back gradually. L/i confessed to Ri by sending her on a scavenger hunt to all the places they went to as kids (i.e. campground, Lotte World, the beach, etc.), and with the help of Tingting and his members, each place he had her experience a memory they shared. By the end of it, Ri is getting a bit emotional from all the memories, and happy to finally end up at the SEVENTEEN dorm to find out what the reason behind this was. The dorm is dark and then a projector shows their first dance performance together, getting Ri to finally cry. When L/i confesses, she’s crying so hard that it takes all her energy to nod her head, and she falls into his arms still crying uncontrollably, but smiling through her tears.

They accidentally expose the Tinghao relationship, which was kept from the public, when they took a selca together to reveal their relationship, oblivious to the two cuddling behind them, and posted it on the SEVENTEEN Twitter. Many fans started to fangirl/boy over how cute L/i and Ri looked, and then there were the eagle-eyed Carats who noticed the two people in the background. Needless to say, Carats were freaking out and the members’ phones were blowing up with the retweets and comments about the couple in the background. Minghao and Tingting explode at the two, yelling in a mixture of Korean and Chinese, and getting so worked up that they forgot what they were angry about in the first place. Most fans were extremely happy for the two members, laughing at the videos the other members had posted of Tinghao getting mad at Ri and L/i, and chasing them around the dorm.

A video of Ri dancing backstage along with SVT goes viral, and whenever she comes to visit them, at least one member starts playing the video, prompting Ri to chase that person down and pummel them with pillows. This got her the nickname “Jihoon 2.0”. Vernon and Joshua videotaped a video of her pummeling poor Mingyu, the height difference comically obvious as Ri had to jump up to hit him on the head, and this too goes viral. Lots of Carats commented that SVT didn’t need Woozi to scare the members anymore, they had Ri now.

Proposal scene where L/i gets so nervous, he almost backs out. With the encouragement of the other members and Tingting, he proposes to Ri by singing a song he wrote on his own. He shows her his collection of the one hundred and fifty polaroids, and says some cheesy line about how he would love her until the last rose dies, and hands her a bouquet of one hundred and fifty red roses, one of them fake. Dino ruins the moment by loudly sniffling, which prompts the rest of the members and Tingting to tear up as well, giving their hiding spot away.

Ri was just mindlessly wandering around the streets on L/i’s birthday, sad that she couldn't celebrate it with him, when she runs into Cinta. She saw the look in Ri’s eyes, and figured she was going through some sort of relationship problem, and tells her about the agency. Ri immediately takes up the offer, and hopes that she will finally be able to confess.
