Genlocke Rules

GENERAL INFORMATION

This Nuzlocke mode consists in trying to beat all main series Pokémon Games in sucession, from gen 1 to gen 8. As this challenge is meant to be a race between Mini and Leo, the winner of each game can choose the startes of the next one and the player with the least deaths within the previous game pick which version each one plays.

The genlocke will start with Pokémon Yellow so both players have the same working ground at the start.

GENERAL RULES

- all fights have to be done in SET mode
- no Xitems allowed
- you can only catch the 1st Pokémon you encounter per route/area
- no legendaries allowed
- static encounters can always be caught and used (unless legendary ones)
- gift pokemon can always be used (unless legendary one)
- in game trades are allowed but count as the encounter for that area/route
- all Pokémon have to be nicknamed
- when a Pokémon faints, all its evolutionary line is considered dead not only for the current game but also for all the remaining ones
- the game is considered finished when you beat the E4 (or equivalent)
- no glitches can be used during the run

CATCH RULES - Exceptions

- if the 1st Pokémon you encounter is a dupe, you can search for another one till you get a Pokémon you didn't catch already
- if you find a shiny, you can always catch it and use it even if you already caught a Poke on that route or if it is a legendary
- if you find a roaming legendary, you are allowed to throw 1 Pokeball at it. If it catches you can use it.

GAME SPECIFIC RULES

- in gen 2 games (and remakes) the nuzlocke only ends after beating Red
- Fire Red and Leaf Green only ends after round 2 E4
