- [22:03] <Georgia> Ah, nothing like drinking with friends! New friends. A new team! Everyone's more or less gone their seperate ways by now, except for Georgia and Allie--the former of which is completely, disgustingly sober.
- [22:06] * Allie isn't all that smashed, either...though depending on what kind of drunk she is, it'd be hard to tell the difference. That said, she REALLY got the bartender to give her A Look when she ordered a soy milk from the bar. For now, though, walking outside, she has quieted down noticeably.
- [22:08] * Georgia walks out with Allie, wrapping her coat around her against the Seattle chill. "I'll help you get home, if you'd like... did you drive, or?"
- [22:10] <Allie> "Nah," she says, stretching languidly in the night air. "I don't live super far away so I just walked."
- [22:10] * Georgia nods. "Fair enough. I don't walk much, honestly... I should probably do it more, but..." She shrugs one shoulder gently. "You don't mind me coming with you for a bit?"
- [22:12] <Allie> "No," she says, actually sounding surprised. "Why would I?"
- [22:14] <Georgia> "Well, we just met, and... you DO know what business we're in." She smiles lightly. "A lot of people, they have this... level of paranoia about them."
- [22:17] <Allie> "Oh." She considers for a minute, walking in silence. "My brother told me the same thing once, before he told me he knew somebody who knew somebody, and so on, to get me into all this. Watch your back, he said, cause you can't trust no one else to do it."
- [22:17] <Allie> She shrugs. "Well...you seem friendly enough, and usually nobody wants to be seen with the surge-freak anyway, so..."
- [22:19] <Georgia> "Watch your back... shoot straight... conserve ammo... never trust an elf... and never, ever, make a deal with a dragon." She smiles, then laughs slightly. "Rules as old as the profession. But, honestly... I'm not one to judge people for being different. YOu may have noticed I'm not precisely normal, myself." She brushes a strand of pure-white hair behind an ear.
- [22:23] * Allie giggles slightly. "Yeah, it's a big contrast between you, and tall dark and orkish. And you seem nice enough, though really sad." She shrugs. "Dunno why, it just seems like it."
- [22:23] * Georgia chuckles lightly. "Near death experiences do that to a girl, I suppose. It's dangerous work." She wraps her jacket a little closer around herself.
- [22:24] <Allie> "Ah. Is that why you were asking about church stuff?"
- [22:25] <Georgia> "Eh, maybe a little bit. Mostly I just... I like taking my friends to church with me." She shrugs. "It's a good experience, I feel."
- [22:25] <Allie> "Oh, okay." Then she smiles happily and begins to hum.
- [22:26] * Georgia chuckles a bit, walking along. "So, you mentioned you had a brother?"
- [22:27] <Allie> "Yep. He's helped me out a lot since this." She flicks the edge of one of her ears. "He didn't get changed, though, just me."
- [22:29] * Georgia nods. "It's good to have family that cares about you." She smiles, then grimaces a bit. "It seems family is very important to quite a number of our team."
- [22:29] * Georgia has... a bit of an odd accent, it should be said. It's almost Italian, but... not quite.
- [22:29] <Allie> "Is that bad?" she asks curiously.
- [22:30] <Georgia> "Some would call it a weakness. I wouldn't, but some would."
- [22:31] <Allie> "Oh." She nods. "Too many targets or something, I could see it." Then she chuckles. "...They'd have a hard time with Justin."
- [22:32] <Georgia> "He sounds like a very interesting man. Perhaps we'll meet at some point." She chuckles.
- [22:33] * Allie shrugs carelessly. "Maybe. I haven't seen him face to face in a couple years, but then I *did* just come back home to this area."
- [22:34] * Georgia nods. "Fair enough, fair enough. Do you have any questions you'd like me to answer, by the way? I understand I've been making the conversation to be about you quite a lot..."
- [22:38] <Allie> "That's okay, I like to talk," she grins. "In case you haven't noticed. But, uh...I guess...let's see." She pauses, thinking, finger tapping her chin.
- [22:38] <Allie> "What do you do, I guess? Not just for this," she explains with a vague gesture back at the bar, "but...I guess in general."
- [22:39] <Georgia> "Not much, honestly. I take classes at Seattle University when I have money saved up for it... I study philosophy and religion. I watch urban brawl a bit. Go to church, of course..."
- [22:40] <Allie> "How often? Like, once a week, all the time, twice a week but never on Sundays?"
- [22:44] <Georgia> "Whenever possible. I try to make it every sunday at the very least, and I help out when I'm not busy with other things... sweeping floors, helping with accounts, stuff like htat."
- [22:50] <Allie> "Neat," she says, smiling. "You know, it's funny...you hear about a church and you never think of the more boring things that need doing there, like what you're mentioning."
- [22:51] * Georgia laughs a bit. "Yeah. Mos tplaces have drones that do it nowadays, but... I like the old fashioned approach. It's... calming, to work with my hands."
- [22:53] <Allie> "Yeah, I guess I can see it. My brother makes stuff for me using his hands, too. Well, and tools, it'd be hard to do it LITERALLY by hand."
- [22:55] * Georgia nods. "Mmm hmm. I'm... not very good at making things, honestly. I've been meaning to learn, but..."
- [23:03] <Georgia> "Just haven't had time."
- [23:20] <Allie> She nods. "I know *that* feeling," she says...with feeling. "There's a bunch of things that Hustle says he can still show me but I need to find the time to practice the things I *do* already know first before I can even try and sometimes I just want to just *do* it, you know?"
- [23:25] * Georgia nods. "True enough, true enough. I have to get in a lot of practice, myself..." She snaps her fingers, a little tuft of flame coming off them.
- [23:28] <Allie> "Oh hey," she says, watching closely. "That's neat stuff. Magic?"
- [23:29] * Georgia nods. "I'm a mystic adept."
- [23:30] <Allie> "Oh, awesome. So you have a little bit of real magic and a little bit of punch-harder-in-the-face magic?"
- [23:30] <Georgia> "My more mystical powers are a bit limited in scope... I'm only good with spellcasting, and I only know a few spells." SHe smiles lightly. "But yes. Pretty much spot on--I follow Saint George, the Dragonslayer. His is my Way."
- [23:42] <Allie> "...Okay, that's really neat. But, uh...you sure that someone called the Dragonslayer is a good idea these days?" Her tone is teasing. Mostly.
- [23:44] * Georgia laughs. "It's not always literal. It CAN be, but it's not. He's... my idol. THe ideal I strive to live by. Standing fast to my allies and friends, and fighting evil as much as I can."
- [23:52] <Allie> "Oh." She's gone a bit starry-eyed by this point. "That sounds *really* neat. I kinda wish I'd found something like that, but, uh, nothing really yet. Pretty much it's been 'survival' and 'try to not live in the streets' for now."
- [23:55] * Georgia nods. "You're Awakened yourself, then?"
- [00:01] <Allie> "Yep, just a regular adept though." She shrugs. "For a little bit I thought it was just me being awesome. Hustle put a stop to that."
- [00:03] * Georgia nods. "Still." She shivers against the cold a bit. "A mentor may find you, or you may find one. It might take time, but..."
- [00:04] <Allie> "Well, that was Hustle."
- [00:09] <Georgia> "No, no, not that sort of Mentor. Like Saint George for me, or Suriel's manifestation of the Wise Warrior, Gideon. A... a concept, an ideal."
- [00:15] <Allie> "...Oh." She grins sheepishly. "Right. Well, maybe, I guess? We'll see. Unless you can think of a patron saint of sneakiness. Or catgirls!"
- [00:17] <Georgia> "Well, I've heard of shamans who took Cat as a mentor, so." She chuckles lightly.
- [00:18] <Allie> "Halfway there ain't bad," she grins, then leaps over and hugs Georgia briefly about the shoulders. She lets go and steps back, grinning. "You know, you are probably the nicest person I have met since coming back here."
- [00:20] * Georgia smiles, returning the hug, very lightly. "Thank you. I do try to treat my fellow man right. The golden rule and all that."
- [00:20] <Allie> "Yeah, I guess that makes sense. Shame other people don't remember that one much. At least, not around here."
- [00:23] <Georgia> "Not anywhere, really. The world is a dark place, and the brighter the light, the deeper the shadow. Still, I would never dream of setting my torch aside."
- [00:24] <Allie> She laughs. "I know you're serious but that sounded so *cheesy*. I love it! Is everyone else this sincere?"
- [00:37] * Georgia laughs. "Mmmm. OF this group... yes, I would say so."
- [00:38] <Georgia> "In general, of course not, but for us... I'm not sure Midori could lie to save her life, Suriel's a good, honest man, Oishi's far to honorable to be insincere, and Starr is a grumpy old woman."
- [00:38] <Georgia> "Don't tell her I said that, of ocurse."
- [00:40] * Allie giggles. "My lips are sealed. At least until I call her that to her face, but then it'd be because I said it, or she made me say it or something, instead of just repeating what you said."
- [00:42] * Georgia laughs. "Fair enough, fair enough."
- [00:47] <Allie> "So what kindsa things do you guys end up doing? I mean, I saw that last brawl and that was pretty banzai. You guys get into that a lot?"
