  1. Time to Reflect Edition
  2.
  3. Hey guys, how’s it goin?
  4.
  5. I suppose at this point I should use this opportunity to reflect on all of the things I’ve done this year. I’ll try to go through them in chronological order:
  6.
  7. --I improved my Mario Golf Advance Tour singles time by almost two minutes, some of that from switching to Japanese. I should make an effort to improve this soon.
  8. --I picked up Monster Rancher Battle Card GB to put up a proper run of the game, getting my best time on March 10. I recall at least one person telling me that they have used my runs as a walkthrough. Crazy.
  9. --I managed to improve some of my times on Panel de Pon. If there’s something I could consider to be a New Year’s resolution, it would be to fully route Tetris Attack V-Hard and Panel de Pon S-Hard so that I will finally be satisfied with their routes. It’s going to be a really slow process.
  10. --I also picked up some unusual speedgames after acquiring flashcarts, starting with Battlebots: Design & Destroy and Beyblade G-Revolution. G-Revolution deserves a proper revisit.
  11. --The Pokemon Puzzle League V-Hard record no longer has a death in it. There will probably be a point not long after SGDQ where I go back to this. I’m not sure I’ll ever leave this game forever.
  12. --SGDQ week, this year, was the week of Puyo Pop. It feels good to feel competent at Puyo. Next year, I want to actually be at SGDQ for once in a few years and just relax and hang out with puzzle friends if I can’t get any runs in.
  13. --I improved my Pokemon Puzzle Challenge Intense time. I feel like I’ve been trying to improve it ever since.
  14. --I got bored and recorded a run of Nanopa’s Easy mode. Puzzle League with a Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha skin is actually quite rad.
  15. --I did a speedrun of SNES Wario’s Woods, but I still don’t feel like I’ve learned how to play. I need some motivation to do more runs.
  16. --I managed to get revenge on my 2016 Tetris Attack tournament performance by winning the tournament this time, all while never letting a run get to 10 minutes. I guess I’m consistent, if nothing else.
  17. --I added incentives to my stream to get people to donate for different stream content. If Vyse’s actions have been any indication, I would say that it has been a rousing success so far.
  18. --Touhou Puzzle League is still a hot mess, but I did get around to posting some more times.
  19. --The year ended with some weird choices in games with the acquisition of a NES. Home Alone, 10-Yard Fight, Arkista’s Ring, Krazy Kreatures, Tetris, NES Open Tournament Golf; most of these games are not worth trying to do repeatedly. I’ll let you guess which ones.
  20.
  21. If there are games that could use some more focus in 2019, I would think that Tetris Attack GB, the GBA Yu-Gi-Oh! games and Monster Rancher Advance would be leading candidates. I also haven’t played Yu-Gi-Oh! The Falsebound Kingdom in ages, but that’s a bit of a long one. I’m not a fan of doing longer runs because it’s harder to get in multiple attempts so the opportunities to improve are few. More power to those that do the longer games regularly, especially all those RPGs. If only I had more time to do those runs…
  22.
  23. That’s my life story for 2018. I don’t know where 2019 will lead me, but the journey is supposed to be half the fun! Until next time, everyone, thanks for reading!
