  1. Q. How do I win Rock, Paper, Scissors every time?
  2. ====================
  3. A. Many people believe Rock, Paper, Scissors is simply a game of chance and luck. However, like chess or Super Mario Kart, RPS is a game of strategy, observation, and intelligence. Here are eight easy steps to win every time.
  4.
  5. ====================
  6. History
  7. ====================
  8. The earliest form of Rock, Paper, Scissors was seen in eighteenth century Japan, called Jan-Ken-Pon.
  9.
  10. ====================
  11. World Championships
  12. ====================
  13. The World Rock Paper Scissors Society sanctions yearly world championship competitions.
  14. 2006: Bob Cooper: United Kingdom
  15. 2007: Andrea Farina: United States
  16. 2008: Monical Martinez: Canada
  17. 2009: Tim Conrad: United States

  20. Strategy
  21. ====================
  22.
  23. 1. Rock It
  24. Men have the tendency to throw rock on their first throw. If you are playing against one, try using paper.
  25.
  26. 2. Twisted Scissor
  27. Experienced RPS players will play on your naivety and throw paper. Counter with scissors.
  28.
  29. 3. Copycat
  30. Inexperienced (or flustered) RPS players will often subconsciously deliver the form that beat their last throw. Counter with the opposite.
  31.
  32. 4. Double on the Rocks
  33. When you see a two-Rock run, you know your opponent's next move will be Scissors or Paper. People hate being predictable and a firm indication of predictability is to come out with the same throw three times in a row. Counter with Rock.
  34.
  35. 5. Finger Findings
  36. As your opponent begins to throw, watch his or her fingers carefully. Fingers will move or tense depending on the form they are about to throw.
  37. Rock: all fingers are tense
  38. Paper: all fingers are loose
  39. Scissors: only the top two fingers are loose
  40.
  41. 6. Paper Please
  42. Paper is thrown the least in a match. Use it as an unexpected option.
  43.
  44. 7. Prep Work
  45. Watch your future opponent play others. Do they have a favorite form? Do they maintain a consistent throwing pattern? Counter accordingly.
  46.
  47. 8. Spock & Roll
  48. When in doubt, and all seems lost, go for the Spock. It is unexpected and highly illegal, but also impossible to counter.
