- This is a guide for the unlock
- behavior of main missions and side
- missions. Main missions unlock in a
- very simple way: just beat a certain
- mission to unlock another. Side
- missions are a lot more complicated,
- and have a lot more rules and
- exceptions that I will go over in
- detail here.
- To keep things as brief as possible,
- I'll be abbreviating many of the
- important, but repetitive,
- information in this guide. When
- talking about the main missions,
- I'll format them by putting the
- letter rank of the mission in
- parentheses with a number next to
- it, which indicates where it is on
- the list. The first indicator will
- be for where it is on the list when
- no missions have been done yet, and
- the second indicator will be for
- where it is on the list when all
- missions have been unlocked. When
- talking about side missions, I'll
- just say the name of the character
- at the start of the side mission,
- since the side missions don't have
- names, followed by an abbreviated
- location indicator. Here are what
- they mean:
- VC = Village Center
- N/E/S/W/C = North, East, South,
- West, Center. Sometimes I'll use a
- combination of these.
- HM = Hokage's Mansion
- TF = Training Field
- HS = Hot Springs
- HF = Hidden Forest
- TT = Tanzaku Town
- PP = Pachinko Parlor
- I'll be giving abbreviated
- walkthroughs for every side mission,
- too. These will mostly just tell you
- where to go, but sometimes they'll
- tell you which answer to pick for a
- dialog option, or important
- conditions that will apply to
- certain battles. These will all be
- in parentheses next to where I told
- you to go.
- #H = you need to get a combo of at
- least this many hits.
- #NT = you need to use this many
- ninja tools.
- #S = You need to use substitution at
- least this many times.
- #AB = You need to give at least this
- many additional blows to the enemy.
- Main missions
- Food Pill Experiment (B5, B6)
- Unlocks Tsunade Goes Berserk (B7).
- The Rival's Ability (C3) unlocks
- Candy Supplying Mission (C11).
- Secret Mission (C8) Unlocks Next
- Secret Mission (C9).
- Bushy Brow Training (D3) unlocks
- Even More Training (B4), which
- unlocks Explosion of Youth (C12).
- Find The Fake Merchant (D10) unlocks
- Fake Merchant's Reformation (D11).
- Side Missions
- Side missions are events that show
- up as green dots on the minimap, and
- they are unlocked in a variety of
- different ways. Some of them are
- available by default at the start of
- the game, others are unlocked after
- beating other side missions, some
- are unlocked in "waves," and a few
- are unlocked by going on dates with
- characters. Below is a list of every
- side mission in the game, and the
- conditions required to unlock all of
- them. Before you read those, keep in
- mind that missions and dates can
- conflict with each other such that
- only one or two of them can be seen
- at any given time, even if you've
- fulfilled the unlock conditions for
- both. For example, Kiba is in one of
- the first two side missions unlocked
- at the start of the game, and is
- unavailable for dating until that
- mission is done. The same kind of
- conflict can prevent missions from
- appearing. If one character is
- needed for two missions, or if two
- missions take place in the same
- spot, only one of them will be
- available at a time. They go in a
- queue, starting with the ones that
- unlocked first, then moving on to
- the ones that unlocked later. If a
- mission and a dateable character are
- in two different maps, they don't
- interfere with each other. For
- example, if Jiraiya has a mission in
- the village center, you can still
- give him a date gift in the hot
- springs.
