  1. This is a guide for the unlock
  2. behavior of main missions and side
  3. missions. Main missions unlock in a
  4. very simple way: just beat a certain
  5. mission to unlock another. Side
  6. missions are a lot more complicated,
  7. and have a lot more rules and
  8. exceptions that I will go over in
  9. detail here.
  10.
  11. To keep things as brief as possible,
  12. I'll be abbreviating many of the
  13. important, but repetitive,
  14. information in this guide. When
  15. talking about the main missions,
  16. I'll format them by putting the
  17. letter rank of the mission in
  18. parentheses with a number next to
  19. it, which indicates where it is on
  20. the list. The first indicator will
  21. be for where it is on the list when
  22. no missions have been done yet, and
  23. the second indicator will be for
  24. where it is on the list when all
  25. missions have been unlocked. When
  26. talking about side missions, I'll
  27. just say the name of the character
  28. at the start of the side mission,
  29. since the side missions don't have
  30. names, followed by an abbreviated
  31. location indicator. Here are what
  32. they mean:
  33. VC = Village Center
  34. N/E/S/W/C = North, East, South,
  35. West, Center. Sometimes I'll use a
  36. combination of these.
  37. HM = Hokage's Mansion
  38. TF = Training Field
  39. HS = Hot Springs
  40. HF = Hidden Forest
  41. TT = Tanzaku Town
  42. PP = Pachinko Parlor
  43.
  44. I'll be giving abbreviated
  45. walkthroughs for every side mission,
  46. too. These will mostly just tell you
  47. where to go, but sometimes they'll
  48. tell you which answer to pick for a
  49. dialog option, or important
  50. conditions that will apply to
  51. certain battles. These will all be
  52. in parentheses next to where I told
  53. you to go.
  54. #H = you need to get a combo of at
  55. least this many hits.
  56. #NT = you need to use this many
  57. ninja tools.
  58. #S = You need to use substitution at
  59. least this many times.
  60. #AB = You need to give at least this
  61. many additional blows to the enemy.
  62.
  63.
  64.
  65. Main missions
  66.
  67.
  68.
  69. Food Pill Experiment (B5, B6)
  70. Unlocks Tsunade Goes Berserk (B7).
  71.
  72. The Rival's Ability (C3) unlocks
  73. Candy Supplying Mission (C11).
  74.
  75. Secret Mission (C8) Unlocks Next
  76. Secret Mission (C9).
  77.
  78. Bushy Brow Training (D3) unlocks
  79. Even More Training (B4), which
  80. unlocks Explosion of Youth (C12).
  81.
  82. Find The Fake Merchant (D10) unlocks
  83. Fake Merchant's Reformation (D11).
  84.
  85.
  86.
  87. Side Missions
  88.
  89.
  90.
  91. Side missions are events that show
  92. up as green dots on the minimap, and
  93. they are unlocked in a variety of
  94. different ways. Some of them are
  95. available by default at the start of
  96. the game, others are unlocked after
  97. beating other side missions, some
  98. are unlocked in "waves," and a few
  99. are unlocked by going on dates with
  100. characters. Below is a list of every
  101. side mission in the game, and the
  102. conditions required to unlock all of
  103. them. Before you read those, keep in
  104. mind that missions and dates can
  105. conflict with each other such that
  106. only one or two of them can be seen
  107. at any given time, even if you've
  108. fulfilled the unlock conditions for
  109. both. For example, Kiba is in one of
  110. the first two side missions unlocked
  111. at the start of the game, and is
  112. unavailable for dating until that
  113. mission is done. The same kind of
  114. conflict can prevent missions from
  115. appearing. If one character is
  116. needed for two missions, or if two
  117. missions take place in the same
  118. spot, only one of them will be
  119. available at a time. They go in a
  120. queue, starting with the ones that
  121. unlocked first, then moving on to
  122. the ones that unlocked later. If a
  123. mission and a dateable character are
  124. in two different maps, they don't
  125. interfere with each other. For
  126. example, if Jiraiya has a mission in
  127. the village center, you can still
  128. give him a date gift in the hot
  129. springs.
