Bad TImes And Good Times (ch67)

2-DAY EARLY RELEASE FOR ALL MY PATRONS!!

This is just a quick little something! It's been a while since I've done some RWBY, but being we haven't seen CFVY in like 3 volumes, this is sort of random. But someone prompted me on tumblr and I wanted to get back into it a bit.

Also pausing the current bigger fic for this right now. I didn't have time to edit the new chapter of that this week ;~;

															Chapter 67.


There are just some mornings in the team CFVY dorm room when the boys are wise enough to take a hint and go out early to get some breakfast.

Coco's trained them well; she doesn't even have to say anything to persuade them this time. All it takes is a very compelling glance directed at Yatsuhashi (and she's much more terrifying in the morning without the shades to block her eyes), and a very compelling aura directed Fox.

The boys move about very quickly but quietly before ducking out the door.

Coco smirks as she slowly sits herself up in bed and leans back against the headboard, taking care not to wake the team's final member.

Velvet is still fast asleep on her side, her hands curled up at the top of her chest in a manner that Coco is sure gets cuter and cuter every time she sees it. Long, fuzzy Faunus ears twitch occasionally as she sleeps, the brown fur turning a warm orangey-chestnut color in the beams of sunlight slipping through.

Coco knows that most people view her as a cool confident girl who never gets flustered. But Velvet Scarlatina is the only person on Remnant who can make her heart flutter and her cheeks blush like a schoolgirl's.

She enjoys the silence, the morning sunlight, and her girlfriend's sleepy presence for a while, letting her hand come down to stroke Velvet's ears ever so gently with the backs of her nails. Velvet makes content little moans in the back of her throat and subconsciously shifts closer into her girlfriend's lap.

Coco cradles her head in her hands, running the pad of her thumb across Velvet's cheek to the corner of her lips. She leans down to hold a kiss to Velvet's head between her ears, then continues petting through her hair and fur.

Coco takes the time to just look her over, admire how pretty and cute she is at the same time. As Velvet breathes, sometimes she lets out little hums here and there, and each sound she makes causes Coco to fall more and more in love.

"Geez, it's too early for this..." Her face is on fire, and she needs to sit back a moment and draw in a deep breath. But just when she thinks she's recovered, Velvet makes another tiny sound.

"Mn..." It's followed by a petite yawn, and Velvet stretches both arms out in front of her. When she relaxes she's more or less hugging Coco's waist.

Coco does everything she can to maintain some semblance of self-control, but it doesn't last for long. She eventually leans back down over her girlfriend and folds her arms around Velvet's head and shoulders, pulling her into a loose sloppy hug.

"You're really unfair, missy."

She leaves a kiss behind on each Faunus ear, and then one on the tip of her nose, nuzzling her cheek. Velvet whimpers happily, her fingers curling around Coco's back as she tries to bring herself into the waking world.

Coco waits patiently, leaving tiny kisses all along her girlfriend's cheeks, hair, and ears, until Velvet finally opens her eyes. Coco bumps noses with her again.

"There she is. Mornin', Velvs."

"Mm, Coco... good morning," Velvet yawns. "Where are-?"

"Out to lunch. Well, breakfast, I guess."

"That's nice." Velvet shifts herself closer, burying her face in Coco's shirt. "I hope they enjoy themselves..."

"I know I will." Coco runs her hands across Velvet's back for a moment, feeling her breathe and mumble little noises to herself. Another yawn comes, and Coco gently eases her back. "All right, c'mon, don't fade on me now. Lemme see those pretty eyes."

"Oh come now, Coco. You'll have to look into a mirror for that."

"Girl, you are on fire this morning."

Coco sits Velvet up and clears the loose strands of hair from her face. Velvet blinks up at her with eyes the color of chocolate and a smile just as sweet, her ears drooping slightly in a relaxed manner.

Coco glances down at her girlfriend's lips. Velvet tilts her chin and closes her eyes.

Coco kisses her briefly, appropriately given the early, lazy hour. When they part she pulls Velvet fully into her lap and hugs her close. Velvet wraps both arms around her leader's shoulders and rests her chin on her shoulder, letting out another sigh.

Coco closes her eyes and enjoys the moment, enjoys the feeling of their hearts beating together. Before she knows it Velvet's fallen back asleep, and Coco doesn't really care to move either.

So she just rests her head against hers and lets the warmth of the sun and the beat of Velvet's heart lull her back to sleep.

If she doesn't wake up for the rest of the day, no one can really blame her.
