(Under the cover of darkness and guided by only the light of the moon, Kate and Kenzie descend into the compound landing just outside the bases living quarters.  They quickly dispose of their parachutes in a nearby dumpster before disappearing behind one of the steel buildings that house the staff. They quickly find the AC unit behind the building and connect the canister of CS gas they brought with them. The base is silent save for the humming of Orochi security drones and the beating of their hearts, as they make their way through the base they fail to find a single guard on duty or scientist working late. The guard towers appear to be automated, a single Minigun silently scanning the outer perimeters of the base on each tower. As they make their way to the research and storage facilities, they pass the mesh dome at the center of the base and while they can’t see anything inside they can hear something shuffling around inside and a faintly familiar clicking sound. Their presence doesn’t seem to disturb the domes occupants. The research and storage facilities are a maze of interconnected steel pods (if one didn’t know where they were going it be easy to get lost inside,) Kenzie quickly hacks the lock on the lab and the doors slide open. A gentle blast of cool air rushes out of the silent and dimly lit lobby. On the wall in front of them are two arrows, one labeled research and development the other storage/IT)
Kate: (Kate gestures at the storage/IT arrow with the barrel of her MP5, keeping silent as she advances in the direction it indicates, the weapon’s stock to her shoulder, watchful for people or drones.)
Kenzie: (maintaining silence Kenzie walks to cover their back. MP5 out sweeping her line of sight as Kate moves forward)
(As Kate and Kenzie make their way down the dimly lit corridor of locked offices and labs, they come to a room label IT administration. Inside there is a single administrator waiting for scan to finish, as he looks over a report on his desk amongst a forest of servers and racks of external hard drives. He has yet to notice Kate or Kenzie)
Kate: (Kate leaves her MP5 to hang by its strap and slowly, quietly draws her tranq pistol. She thumbs the safety off, takes careful aim (favoring the neck for fastest effect) and squeezes the trigger.)
Kenzie: (Watching the hall as Kate deals with the IT guy)
(The administrator turns around as the dart hits him in the neck, he staggers to his feet and attempts to call for help before collapsing on the ground. As he falls the scan finishes and the computer returns to the start menu. His desk is cluttered with reports and paper coffee cups, among the mess though is a key card for the lab and a unplugged external hard drive labeled email back up 12/13-01/14.)
Kate: (Kate surveys the room with a practiced eye. She pockets the key card and speaks in hushed tones.) “See what he was working on. Oh, and grab that hard drive.” (She goes to check first on the administrator, putting him in a recovery position, then checks the room’s exits.)
Kenzie: (taking the administrators seat. Begins looking over the work that was being performed)
(The administrator vitals are stable and there is still no sign of any guards or drones.)
Kate: (Kate looks back at Kenzie and again checks the exit.) “I’m going to take a look around. I’ll be on the comm.” (Kate opts to keep the tranq pistol in hand and moves on cautiously.)

IT/Storage:
(A program called QEX has finished running a scan. According to the program the quantum channels used by the servers are all now fully operational. Kenzie then recalls Connar’s explanation of how quantum communications work. If these particular servers are destroyed Third Sunday will not be able to repair them and they will have to either gut the entire base or abandoned the facility)
Kenzie: (After seeing what was being worked on she plugs in the external drive to see what is there.)
(The hard drive is encrypted and asking for a username and password. A sufficiently skilled hacker may be able to access the data without either. On the desktop though there is a folder named outgoing doc, in the folder is a series of pdfs on something called the seraphim initiative, as well as a unfinished PowerPoint presentation named AEGIS risk assessment. As she reads over the pdfs on the seraphim initiative, her phone begins to ring. Before she can answer it though, static crackles from the speaker and a buzzing voice begin to speak.)
The buzzing: RUNAWAYRUNAWAYRUNAWAYRUNAWAYRUNAWAYRUNAWAYRUNAWAYRUNAWAY. This is a bad place sweetling, there are things here that tear at our particle wings, things that are made of the dark matter between stars, things that eat bees. RUNAWAYRUNAWAYRUNAWAYRUNAWAYRUNAWAYRUNAWAYRUNAWAYRUNAWAY.
Kenzie: (Collecting the data through a thumb drive. She looks around the papers on the desk and under the keyboard for sticky notes some clue to the possible password. Even so far as to rifle through the IT pockets thinking he may have been tasked to this and given a password)
(On the wall there is Russian Newspaper, with a date circled. At under the circle there is a note that reads magic date 2-7-14)
Kenzie:(reads the clipping the best she can reviewing the data looking for a corresponding date. Before trying the date as the password.)
(user name admin, password 2714 opens the encrypted files. Inside is a back up third sundays correspondence within the organization and with the Orochi corporation. This may offer some insight into the nature of their relationship.)
Kenzie (smirks) “Digging deeper“ (She reads the correspondence)
(As she read the emails, she hears the giggling of woman coming from the halls as well as the sound of combat boots on the steel floor)
Kenzie: (sending the e-mail to the drive and collecting up the external with the thumb drive) “this is what we have techs for “(heads out into the hall after stashing the hardware in her bag and getting herself ready) (over the coms) “What’s your 20? Tracking movement in the hall”
Kate: (Kate puts a finger to her ear as Kenzie’s call comes over the comm. She responds.) “We have an unknown entity on site, potentially dangerous. Trash the equipment and get the fuck out.”
(Kenzies phone begins to ring)
Mystery woman: Kate-chan and I are having a race, two players only. But I have another game for you Kenzie-ch….(static interrupts the phone call)
The buzzing: Don’t play with her sweetling play with us, follow the leader (static stops)
Mystery woman: I said BEES CAN'T PLAY!
Kenzie: “If Bee’s can’t play, I’m not going to play.”
Mystery woman: Not you, them. They are always ruining my fun, taking my new friends away before I can kill them. We are going to play hide and seek, if you can find me, you get to live and if not you get to burn!
Kenzie :(looks around after hearing Kate and digs out the Emp emitter and begins using it in the computer room )
(There is a sizzling noise followed by the lights going out and the emergency lighting clicking on. The servers have been destroyed. Outside in the hall there is a single orange light floating the hallway as if it’s waiting for Kenzie.)
The buzzing: (static over the come) don't go looking for things in the dark follow the leader sweetling.
Mystery woman: BEE’S CAN'T PLAY! (The entire building begins to shake as she yells)
Kenzie: (tries to work out the characteristics of the Mystery woman relating it to other paranormals she may have experienced)
(The voice is unusually high pitched and its sounds as though English is not her first language. Her accent is vaguely Asian and most likely Japanese.)
Kenzie: “Time to buzz“ (Kenzie giggles following the bees. )
(The orange light weaves in and out of the corridors with no apparent pattern ultimately leading her back to the front entrance just the lab behind her explodes. Kate follows shortly after from a hole in the wall. in front of the mesh dome they passed on the way in a woman in a pink dress in combat boots is clapping excitedly.)

R&D:
(As Kate wanders through the hallway she can’t help but feel like she is being followed, despite the fact that she has not seen or heard another person since she knocked out the administrator. The doors and hallways of the research and storage facility are identical to one another making it difficult to tell where she is headed, the only directional indicators available are a green arrow pointing back to IT and a black arrow pointing the way to the lab)
Kate: (Kate checks her surroundings. If she feels like she’s being followed, she reasons, she probably is being followed. She holsters the tranq pistol, draws her combat knife and endeavors to gouge a mark on the wall pointing in the direction she is moving. After the attempt she’d take up her MP5 and follow the black arrow.)
(Kate arrives at the entrance to the lab, the lights are still on, though there does not appear to be any one inside. She still can’t shake the feeling that she is being followed)
Kate: (She looks back the way she came and lifts her infra-red visor from where it hangs round her neck to scan the corridor, on the off-chance the cause of that niggling feeling will be revealed.)
(The corridor is clear. Nothing unusual is visible in the infrared spectrum.)
Kate: (Kate lowers the visor again and swears under her breath, glaring down the length of the corridor. She turns and, if no obvious biometrics are required, would try the key card to enter the lab.)
(The card works and the lab doors slide open, inside is a series of empty cages intended for small animals and a lab bench with a box of SD cards labeled seraphim initiative trials 11/13-01/14. In the center of the lab there is an autopsy table on which rests the body of a strange creature that appears to be half human and half Ak’ab. The body is no larger than that of a human child and it appears to have been in the process of having some kind of machine graphed into it chest when it died.)
Kate: (Kate unfastens her pack’s quick-release strap and shrugs out of it, opening it up in front of her. The box of SD cards will be claimed, and then she would look for something in which to wrap the small body. She has no illusions of fitting it in her pack.)
(As Kate packs away the SD cards, her phone begins to ring. Before she can answer it, her phone begins playing “tainted love” by depeche mode but the song never finishes, instead it keeps playing the same line of the song over and over. “Sometimes i feel i've got to run away.”)
Kate: (Kate puts her pack back on, switches off her comm and casually reaches for the mini-EMP emitter on her belt and triggers it to kill her phone.) “That’s quite enough of that. You’re not going to scare me with the eighties. I was there.” (She turns her comm back on and holds her MP5 ready but tilted downward slightly. She waits, watchful and listening carefully.)
(The phone shorts out and the song stops, she then hears a woman giggling. As she turns, she sees a woman with neon pink hair skipping past the lab door in a pair of combat boots.)
Kate: (Kate makes her way quickly to the door in combat-professional style, checking corners before pointing her eyes and weapon in the direction the woman ran. She keeps her silence.)
(the woman seems to have vanished, however right outside the lab is the mark Kate made with her knife in the corridor)
Kate: (Kate views this mark grimly.) “I’m not playing this game.” (She heads back into the lab and resumes her search for a sheet or surgical gown to wrap the body of the research subject.)
Mystery women: (over the dead phone) “Ohhh, you don't want to play? and senpai said you were so much fun too, oh well guess I’ll go play with Kenzie-chan.”
Kate: “I didn’t say I didn’t want to play. I just don’t like that game. Think of another. What’s your name?”
Mystery women: “Mama calls me Yui, but my real name is etched into the fabric of the cosmos by papas sacrifice. So if you don't like hide and seek what games do you like to play Kate-chan?”
Kate: “I’ve always been partial to cops and robbers. But my favourite game is chess. Do you play chess?”
Yui: “chess is boring, I have a game we can play. Lets have a race the first one outside gets to keep living, the loser gets to burn. (giggling gives way to static)”
The buzzing: RUNAWAY sweetling, this is a bad place, we cant reach you here RUNAWAYRUNAWAYRUNAWAYRUNAWAYRUNAWAYRUNAWAYRUNAWAYRUNAWAY
Yui: “Bees can't play!”
Kate: (Kate puts a finger to her ear as Kenzie’s call comes over the comm: “What’s your 20? Tracking movement in the hall.” She responds.) “We have an unknown entity on site, potentially dangerous. Trash the equipment and get the fuck out.” (Kate thinks fast. She decides that since she can’t trust the corridors she’ll make her own exit. She sticks one of the thermal charges she’s brought with her to a wall, triggers it and uses the three second delay to get the hell behind cover.)
(The thermal grenade makes a hole in the wall that leads outside, as Kate exits the building she sees Kenzie out front looking puzzled. As Kate makes her way out front, the bases flood lights click on as the research and storage facility is set ablaze by a series of mysterious explosions. Yui can be seen clapping excitedly in front of the mesh dome they passed on the way in.)
Yui: that was so much fun, senpai was right. You are fun!
Kenzie: (covering Yui with the gun but watching Kate questioningly.) “We picking up strays?”
Yui: senpai said you were coming and that I needed to tear you into a million little pieces but I am not going to do that because then we couldn't play anymore.
Kenzie “what's a sin pie?”(Looking from Kate to Yui)
Yui: foreigners wouldn't understand. You call him Worth though, he said you met at the hospital in America.
Kate: (Kate makes a quick call over the comm.) “Extraction, west side. Don’t dawdle.” (Kate trains her MP5 on Yui and pauses a moment. She mutters to herself.) “Why is it always sociopaths?” (Louder, she calls out.) “Take her down!” (She begins to advance at a walking pace, firing short, controlled burst.)
Kenzie: (Drawing a bead on the woman at the name of Worth. Charging the rounds with Anima and squeezing the trigger of the MP5 on Kate’s words. Short bursts.)
(the bullets hit Yui and send her to the ground in a shower of blood, she has yet to move.)
Kenzie (collects samples after making sure the woman wasn’t getting up. 3 in total )
Yui: is that all?
(the blood samples shatter the test tubes and seem to dig into the ground. 3 new Yuis emerge from the blood.)
Yui: My Turn (she then summons a massive anima charge over her head and hurls it at Kate and Kenzie destroying the rest of the storage and research facility in the process)
Driver: Copy that, eta  6 min, be ready to go.
Kenzie:(to the driver) “I just became ready five minutes ago”
Kate: (Kate’s eyes widen as the world seems to slow. To her it seems like her limbs are moving through treacle as she drops her SMG, letting it hang from the strap. She draws her combat knife from her belt and, in the same movement, slashes at her opposite palm. She wills the resulting blood into a thin, anima-charged shield, bracing herself for the blast aimed at them.)
Kenzie: (Rolls to with the blast and tries to orientate on Kate ducking behind the blood shield . Charging up her own anima with fire and launching it Yui.)
(the charge hits Yui and incinerates her in the process, the ashes dig into the earth and spawn another 3 yui’s for a total of 9.)
Yui: so much fun but something's missing….I know, Yui chan will you let senpai's pets out.
Yui clone: Ay (she skips over the mesh dome and tears the door off its hinges.) Come and get it!
(several larger Ak’ab human hybrids dash out of the dome knocking over Kate and Kenzie as they take to the sky for another attack.)
Kenzie:(looks to Kate.) “Anything resembling a plan? Cause plan A isn’t working and Plan B created clones”
Kate: (She blinks at the ak’ab/human hybrids taking to the air, but she’s only at a loss for a split second.) “Cover the… flying things. I’ve got the ground crew.” (Kate still has a canister of CS gas on her. She actives it, holding her breath a moment as she lobs it into the midst of the Yuis. She draws her tranq pistol and prepares to start firing.)
Yui: eww that stinks (with a wave of her hand the gas is dispersed.)....what to do now.
Yui clone: I know lets dance! (the yui’s form a coarse line and begin to summon amina charges at their toes.)
Yui: ready! and one and two and (with every kick the air is filled with random anima charges detonating all around them. The base has been set ablaze.)
Driver: eta 1 min, I can see you now ladies.
(The ak’ab begin circle back around for another attack, the gas seem to have made them wary though.)
Kenzie: (waiting for her moment as the Ak’ab approach, She channels her anima to weigh them down with ice and lightning. Working her elemental magic to bring a storm)
(the ak’ab's ice encrusted wings brake and bring them back to earth after flailing around for a second they are back on their feet and charging in Kenzies direction)
Kate: (Kate keeps herself between the Yuis and Kenzie, her left arm held out like she was holding a shield, and one does indeed form from the blood still seeping from her hand. She angles it to let the the worst of the anima charges be deflected overhead. In her other hand, she begins squeezing off tranquilizer shots at the clones, trying to take them down without letting them multiply.) “Get to the west fence; we need to go!”
(the tranquilizer darts freeze about 3 meters away from their target, it is same shield worth was using at the hospital.)
Kenzie times the advancing Yui and the charging Akab grabbing Kate and using flicker to teleport to get to the fence letting the Akab charge into the Yuis)
(the ak’ab charge into the mob of Yui’s, knocking them to the ground and into the path of the oncoming APC crushing them all.)
Driver: sorry to interrupt but we have got to go.
Kenzie: (Looking at the mess)” does that count as one? (as she enters the vehicle.)
Kate: (Kate actually looks pissed off at having been hauled around. She grimly takes her last thermal grenade from her belt and thumbs the timer, setting it for ten seconds. She rolls this under the APC, among the carnage beneath and hops inside.) “Go go go!”
