  1. Before I did classic Mega, I ran a bunch of indie puzzle-platformers that few people had heard of and almost no one had played. These were amazing speedgames and I worked really hard to optimize them and had a lot of fun doing it, but without community interest and bonding and a shared understanding of what you're doing, speedrunning is just another GameFAQs challenge page you move on from a week later.

  3. I'd been speedrunning off and on for a while, but The Sunday Sequence Break is what made me take a real interest in pushing it and talking to other runners and giving feedback, because whether your game was known or not, you got a showcase and some recognition when you set a milestone time. For up-and-coming runners who ran little-known games, TSSB's record section was vital and hugely appreciated, and put you in touch with other people in the community who had played your game or just thought the run looked impressive or interesting.

  5. Flicky, PJ, Duckfist, Feasel, Gilder, Arkhanno, and all the guests who tirelessly worked through several hundred pages of submitted times and documented a lot of strats and history for featured games: thanks a bunch. I hope the show is able to come back in some form, because it's hard to emphasize what an important resource it is for growing the community and showcasing what runners do. Great work, and thanks again.
