  7. Log:
  8. [17:41] She'g Ri Nemris (johnmcmanslaughter) had been doing some reading and meditating and came out after a rather long study session. When he noticed Knox, he gave a quick nod of greeting. "Knox." He paused for just a moment as he raised a hand to scratch at his chin. "I noticed that the Lord Talons Star Destroyer was in need of repairs. While I do specialize in weapons... if there is no need to update, upgrade or repair... I am still an engineer. I am sure I could find some place to help." At his roots buildings weapons was his passion before he had joined the Sith.... but building anything at all really helped.
  9.
  10. [17:49] Knox had been standing by in the main chambers of the Sith Academy when he'd be approached by Acolyte She'g. As She'g spoke it would seem he got the notice through proper channels about the need for able bodied Sith. There were a number of roles available from Overseers to keep works in line or Engineers to repair the damage done. The ominous dark figure would nod his head to She'g as he'd respond in his cold monotone voice. "Acolyte She'g, and yes the Star Destroyer we recovered days ago is in need of immediate repairs. My Master has the materials required but not the manpower to attend to each section. As well as a need for Overseers to ensure those who are hired do their job properly and without theft. If you are confident in your skills, I will take you to the landing platform where a shuttle can be taken to the Star Destroyer." In a second Knox would withdraw from his person a datapad and hold it out. It was a layout of the Star Destroyer with notes on different points of damage that had been received. It
  11.
  12. [17:49] Knox was a large vessel and so would require time. "The weapon functions aboard are not an issue at this time, however we do need Engines, Life Support, Sensor Relay, Communications, Bridge Support, or the Hangar Bay repaired. Of these sections which would you prefer?"
  13.
  14. [17:55] She'g Ri Nemris (johnmcmanslaughter) thought on it for a moment. He was no ship or even mechanical engineer; but he could create the shit out of stuff. So he thought on the offer of what he would work on as he looked at the schematics for the ship. The ones that required the most computing and coding he would not bother to touch. "Engines or Hangar Bay would be my preferred. Do you think Lord Talon would mind if I experimented on some new tech or not? Or should that be saved for the next ship we get. Are there already teams in place to assist me?" He chuckled some and would start to walk towards the shuttle if Knox was coming along. "Care to take the shuttle I modified for Eliza?"
  15.
  16. [17:59] Knox would make note of his choices and walk over to the console by the door. Reaching down and inputting them for repairing the Engines. Once it would be noted on the roster he'd then turn to Acolyte She'g and state, "I've set us for overseeing and repairing the Engines on the Star Destroyer. I'd refrain from modifying the ship we can't afford any errors on a ship that large. Just stick to the schematics and repair it to functioning capacity. I'll assist when needed." Nodding his head as he'd then turn and begin to walk to the lift. Stating as he did, "As for the shuttle you modified, it matters not. So long as we reach the ship on schedule." Waiting on the lift now for Acolyte She'g to come with him to the landing pad.
  17.
  18. [18:06] She'g Ri Nemris (johnmcmanslaughter) would call for the shuttle to come to them... he had found an AI that would assist in piloting well enough you could call the shuttle to you without a pilot. The thing had only three weapons... but one was a large cannon and the other were two front mounted, 180 degree automatic blasters that looked pretty badass as well; it would be waiting on them at the landing pad so they could take off as soon as they got up there.
  19.
  20. [18:13] Knox would take the lift to the landing pad as the ominous figure made stride as time was of the essence. The sooner these repairs were complete the close they'd be to their goal. Boarding the loading ramp as the shuttle landed for them with ease. When everyone would be aboard Knox would go to the cockpit and take a seat in the co-pilot chair. Allowing Acolyte She'g to take them into hyperspace to the Maw. The star destroyer was in no condition to move at the moment but the fuel was ready so it was but a matter of time. As they'd exit hyperspace they'd note the silhouette of the ISD 'Shadow' It would seem power throughout the ship was in dire straits due to the experiments performed aboard. Life Support was on emergency power so the air would be a bit thin. This would not be a problem for Knox however as he wore a pressurized suit. Glancing over to Acolyte She'g and state, "Input the approach vectors and then grab whatever you need. The air is thin so put on a suit if there is one aboard."

  23.
  24. [18:21] She'g Ri Nemris (johnmcmanslaughter) input the proper details in to the shuttles computer so that they could make an appropriate and safe landing in to the hanger of the large Star Destroyer. Once inside, he could tell even before the pressure of the shuttle released that breathing was going to be difficult. He put the force in to his lungs so that he could breath just fine for long enough to find a space suit on board... or something to help him breath at least. With a slow hissing sound, the airlocks on the shuttle broke so they could exit. She'g immedietly searching for some way to help him breathe long term without having to use the force; which he found out recently he could easily run out of. "Ahh. I tend to carry many things in my bag; but I did not bring my space suit this day." What a shame. Soon after they exited, he managed to find a helmet that would serve as a vessel to keep him breathing with the thin air on the ship; and he no longer would have to use the ship. Following the schematics that Knox had given him, he would move
  25. [18:21] She'g Ri Nemris (johnmcmanslaughter): towards the engine bay as he questioned him. "Do you know the damage that has been done to the engines? Or is that something we must find out once we get in here?"
  26.
  27. [18:30] Knox would disembark from the shuttle and await Acolyte She'g as he searched for a helmet in the Hangar Bay. The scars of the battle they had with the Terentatek still there along with their broken shuttle. Once he was ready they'd make their way in calm stride through the corridors of the ship to the Engine room. It was a large ship and this gave him plenty of time to talk to She'g. When asked about the damage Knox would share what he knew. "The damage to the Engine was as a result of Dr. Holdans siphoning power during the month he was on board. Using that power to keep the lab facility running. There was damage to power couplings and several circuits. Whatever parts you do not have on hand my Master has graciously had them delivered to their designated areas." As they toured the other sections fo the ship they'd note there was not as much damage. Quarantine procedures had most of the ship on lock-down so there were few places to go for the creatures. After a modest time they'd arrive to the engine room which
  28. [18:30] Knox would show a large cylinder which no doubt fed fuel to the thrusters. The system was offline and the terminal at the station would not be available for use. In total there were 7 engines, 3 Primary and 4 Auxillary Engines which made up the thrusters of the Star Destroyer. All of them would have to be inspected and repaired.

  30. [18:35] She'g Ri Nemris rolled (TECHNOLOGY) with: [7] + [9] + bonus[3] + Force[0] = 19
  31. [18:37] She'g Ri Nemris (johnmcmanslaughter) learned what the damage done was and figured it was more circuitry than anything actually mechanical. Some transistors and power couplings may need replaced several places throughout the ship and in the main engine bay itself. Though to be certain exactly what needed done, he sent out his drone which was able to scan for exactly what damage was done and where as well as the parts and procedures it would take to fix it. The drone quickly found what was wrong with this particular engine bay and it was just a matter reconnecting a few wires in the junction box. When that was finished, the engine would kick back on with the loud whirrrring sound of mechanical parts.
  32.
  33. [18:41] Knox watched in amusement as Acolyte She'g swiftly solved one of the Primary Engines problems. Giving some modest praise to state, "Impressive. Next one then." Guiding Acolyte She'g as he'd stroll down a walkway to the next primary engine. The same as the last one but Knox would see if She'g could handle it swiftly. Making small talk as they went along the way. "How did you come to acquire such knowledge Acolyte She'g?"

  35. [18:43] She'g Ri Nemris rolled (TECHNOLOGY) with: [10] + [1] + bonus[3] + Force[0] = 14
  36. [18:51] She'g Ri Nemris (johnmcmanslaughter)'s drone continued to scan the room. This one seemed to have a bit more extensive damage. It was figuring out all that was wrong with this engine for a little bit and it gave him time to speak to Knox. "I started making bombs when I was a child. I was raised by.... freedom fighters..." The more glorified word for terrorists "on Thurstra and was expected to join the family business. When I learned that creating, building, inventing new things came naturally to me I decided to take a break from all of the death and destruction to truly learn my trade at a school on the Sephi Homeworld. I graduated with high honors and went to try and work a real job in the government. But that life bored me. So I went back to making bombs and weapons; anything that could hurt someone I was creating. Before I had to run from Thurstra.... I had nearly every criminal in the system coming to me for their weapons. Having a general knowledge of technology was important in such schooling." The diagnostics had come back from his

  38. [18:51] She'g Ri Nemris (johnmcmanslaughter): drone and he would have to end up doing a bit of actual work for this one. He reached in to his bag to grab his tools as he got to work actually fixing a few housings and junctions on engine number 2
  39.
  40. [18:55] Knox rolled (TECHNOLOGY) with: [1] + [3] + bonus[4] + Force[0] = 8
  41. [19:04] Knox watched at the sidelines as Acolyte She'g would continue his repairs to Primary Engine 2 and noted how there was some difficulty with it. Knox was about to render assistance but realized he was out of his depth and rather have the Acolyte perform the repairs. Halting himself as he'd slink back to his observance. Instead just holding a conversation as he'd state, "One most make use of their skills to survive. Even at the cost of others." Knox did not mock She'g for attending school as it was important to have an education. It'd be strange if a Sith couldn't have a basic understanding of things used in life. Knowledge was important and the more of it you had, the more tools at your disposal. Stating in reassurance to his own point of view. "All knowledge, from something as basic as what is learned at an Acdemy, to making weapons for war. It gives you an edge over those who do not possess such knowledge." He'd wait patiently as Acolyte She'g would have to spend more time on these repairs it'd seem.
  42.
  43. [19:48] She'g Ri Nemris (johnmcmanslaughter) worked slowly and meticulously to start fixing what had been diagnosed. The parts were around, but to add difficulty... some of them were not the right size. However a few minutes later after he cut and welded and bent and replaced... he managed to get everything where it needed to be. Some of the electronics were fixed and suddenly the rushing wound of gears and cogs and everything that made up the engine of the ship started to slowly fill the room again. Well... that one is finished." He sent out his drone to scan the next engine.
  44.
  45. [19:53] Knox would note that Engine number two would power up as the loud whirr of its start up and then subsequent hum could be heard. Motioning with a hand for him to follow as there was still the third engine to power. Walking along the designated path as he spoke, "Have you been taking what I've said to practice and retain your knowledge? It goes a long way to training your mind and believe it or not gives you greater mental fortitude." An important trait for one who planned to defend themselves from attacks in the force. It was noted in history of those who practiced various techniques such as playing pazaak in their head or using strong sense of emotions to block infiltration of the mind.
  46.
  47. [19:54] She'g Ri Nemris rolled (TECHNOLOGY) with: [6] + [7] + bonus[3] + Force[0] = 16
  48. [19:58] She'g Ri Nemris (johnmcmanslaughter) allowed his drone to do its diagnostic scan quickly to determine what was wrong with the engine. He read the results and started getting to work. This one was badly damaged as well. He opened up the terminal and junction and started to work on what was needed to be done in both places. As he spoke, he would talk to Knox even if his voice was distorted by the helmet he wore. "I have. When I thought about it later I realized that it is like my schooling. What I learned in an academy I studied with books and notes long and hard enough to simply remember off of the top of my head when needed. Then I realized that I had been studying the materials I have learned here longer and harder than I ever did for the other stuff. That with the constant meditation to keep my mind clear of distractions... I found that I indeed to remember it." He shrugged and focused back on the engine for a moment. About an hour later, it would start to turn and power on again.
  49.
  50. [20:07] Knox was glad to see Acolyte She'g had arrived to this revelation. It was one of the most important first steps to harnessing his power. Calmly coming to explain, "Then you have discovered an important step. Meditation. This is not something that is exclusive to the Jedi. Even the Sith must meditate to retain their knowledge and even more importantly their emotions. As you come to experience different events throughout your life, Meditation and reflection as well as the Sith teachings will guide you. Giving you access to greater understanding and power." Knox had since his earliest days learned of the importance of meditation. As a Marauder meditation was a pass-time to help bring his rage into temperament and keep it locked away. Knox would go on to explain this fact as well as the Sith Code. An hour would pass and the engine would come to life like its predecessors. Knox would then motion once more stating, "There is one more console, the Auxillary Engines are linked to them and this one will be more difficult as it is connected to Four of them." Leading the way to the console and coming to a halt nearby.
  51.
  52. [20:08] She'g Ri Nemris rolled (TECHNOLOGY) with: [2] + [6] + bonus[3] + Force[0] = 11
  53. [20:13] She'g Ri Nemris (johnmcmanslaughter)'s helmet moved with his head as he nodded at the mans words. "Yes. I had never really meditated before this; but I sort of learned quickly that it is the best way to keep in control. Push all of the emotions out and focus only on your goal. Pull from them when they are needed to be called upon. It is incredibly difficult to master; but I am getting there. I can push most of my old ones out... but sometimes new ones sneak up and they cannot be controlled right away." Re'ya's betrayal could still be felt through the force as he had not handled that yet. He moved to the console that all four of the auxillary engines were linked too and started to look through it. Computers had always been a bit of a weak spot for him; but there was always room for improvement. "Seems this one is truly tricky." A sigh escaped his lips as he got ready to buckle in for a longer night of looking through error codes to deduce what may be wrong with the last four engines.
  54.
  55. [20:21] Knox after having just recently talked about his emotions he'd note his distracted thoughts swimming about. Knox would state, "I sense your frustration. Let it seethe inside your very essence of being but do not let it boil to the surface until it is ready to be called upon. Focus and learn to visualize as well as manifest those emotions to more easily do so." Knox would wait patiently as he'd pace about the room for what would be an hour or so. Though he was a man who had long since coped with having to Oversee others it did not mean he was infallible to impatience. Stating loudly, "Acolyte She'g, have you found the problem yet?" Putting his gloved hands behind his back and under his cloak as he waited.
  56.
  57. [20:22] She'g Ri Nemris rolled (TECHNOLOGY) with: [6] + [1] + bonus[3] + Force[0] = 10
  58. [20:26] She'g Ri Nemris (johnmcmanslaughter) grumbled as he was still scrolling through pages of coding to try and find the right error. There were a few, but he could still tell that there were only a few causes; usually technological issues were simple fixes that required even simpler fixes. This though... this was starting not his strong suit. Of course he heard Knox, and gave the man a few nods of understanding. "Yes.That is what I need to focus on when I start my trials in a few days. I need to get control of what I am feeling right now and make sure it does not distract me from my missions. This... is a betrayal like I have never felt before. However I do realize that in the end... it will just make me stronger." Still just using his finger on the console that he was looking at to find the correct code.
  59.
  60. [20:26] Knox rolled (TECHNOLOGY) with: [10] + [5] + bonus[4] + Force[0] = 19
  61. [20:31] Knox had watched on in anger as Acolyte She'g would once more make an attempt to fix the console that powered the Auxiliary Engines. Finally Knox had lost to his impatience as he'd walk forward and decide he'd give it a try himself. Brushing Acolyte She'g aside as he'd say, "Stand aside Acolyte, I'll fix it." Taking out his gloved hands as he'd begin to type with speed and precision at the console. Unlike the other Engines at least he could access the console making this easier. Yet still the Engines were not coming online and Knox was growing furious. The seething hatred was growing as Acolyte She'g could sense it easily. "Pile of junk fire damn you!" It was a taste of what Knox had and so Knox's eyes flared as he'd take his metallic boot and kick the console station hard. Then in a comical and unexpected way something would happen as suddenly the console registered the problem as being fixed. Knox would press for the Auxiliary Engines to begin drawing power as all four whirred to life. Smiling now as he'd let out a long sigh. Turning to Acolyte She'g he'd state, "That does it. Now let us go back I've had enough of being on this ship." Hoping that the other repair teams would finish their tasks and he would not have to come back out here.
  62.
  63. [20:37] She'g Ri Nemris (johnmcmanslaughter) was brushed aside by Knox, however reluctantly. However fixing a ship... well that was Re'ya's business as that was what she had studied. It made supressing his recent emotions of betrayal harder as he was no longer focused on something else but able to wander in his own mind. As Knox got angry; he could feel She'g doing the same for entirely different reasons. However it was when the auxiliary engines fired that he was able to focus himself once more. It was also incredibly frustrating that anger and rage had fixed it over technical finess... "Well it seems something was loose. Good job, Knox." Now it was time to leave though. "That should help the others as well as power should start to come online through the entire ship as well." The two of them walked side by side until they reached the hanger bay they had parked Eliza's modified attack shuttle in and quickly left the ship to head back to Corellia with She'g flying as fast as he could.
  64.
  65. [20:39] Knox would turn to Acolyte She'g as he started to regain composure. His breathing steadying and he'd state in response to his comment. "Even if power is distributed throughout the ship through the reactor, there may still be other parts of the ship that have been damaged which prevents power from being distributed to priority systems. Life Support is still offline as well which means it has yet to be fixed by the others." A crew would have to get onto it immediately if they wanted to work without wearing helmets. Following after She'g as he'd make way to the Shuttle to return to Corellia. Unless of course another team called for Knox's assistance.
