Ace At AGDQ 2018 FAQ

Starting on September 2nd, I will be doing fundraising for my hopeful attendance of Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) 2018.

Q: What's your goal?
A: $1,000.

Q: When's your cutoff?
A: Midnight on December 31 (the literal end of the year).  I figure if I don't have the cash by then, I'm not getting it.

Q: Are you submitting any runs?
A: I have no plans to submit a run this year, and that is very unlikely to change before submissions close.  I don't believe I am good enough at any of the games that I do run, or that at this time I offer anything unique that I'm good enough at, such that I feel any run I could submit would be accepted.  I will be quite happy with simply attending this year (and maybe getting on someone's couch?).

Q: Do you need transportation or someone to room with?
A: At the time of this writing (August 27), yes, I still require both - I've never been to a GDQ event before, so I have no pre-established roomies, nor transportation to the event.  If you live close to south-central Pennsylvania and would be willing to have me carpool with you, and/or would consider me as a roommate, please let me know as soon as possible - the sooner you let me know, the sooner that's less anxiety I have to deal with.

Q: So how will the money donated be handled?
A: All monies donated between September 2nd and December 31st will sit in my main PayPal account and shall not be touched for any reason during that time.

Q: What happens to any money raised in the event that you cannot attend?
A: I'm hoping that doesn't happen.  However, in the event that I cannot raise sufficient funds, the first priority for the money after an announcement that I can't (and thus won't) be attending AGDQ would be stream equipment and/or games I intend to play on stream, so that the viewers *get* something out of their donations that they can appreciate.

Q: So what happens to the Mario 3 On Dance Pad incentives you were running?
A: Those will run concurrently with the AGDQ Fund, as mini-goals.  Whatever remains for earning World 5 will be the first mini-goal.

Q: Will cheering Bits help?
A: I have no guarantee that any Bits cheered will arrive in time for AGDQ, since I must wait 2 months after hitting the pay threshold of $100 before I will receive payment from Twitch; thus, while cheers are still appreciated, they will not be part of the fundraising.

Q: Will you be doing any specials/marathons/other events for this fundraiser?
A: Yes.  Keep an eye on Twitter and/or my Discord for announcements of any events I decide to hold!

Q: What about the 750 Follower Special?  Surely you're gonna hit 750 sometime in the next few months?
A: It will have to be postponed; the special has several donation incentives, but the main issue is the reason for the incentives - in part, affording to purchase the bonus games.  This would be in direct conflict with my AGDQ fundraising.  Therefore, the 750FS will have to wait until after AGDQ is over.

Q: What happens if you hit 1,000 followers or more between now and AGDQ?
A: We'll make the follower special bigger according to the milestones I hit and make a Mega Follower Special.  (I kinda doubt that'll be necessary, but you never know, so that's the plan if for some reason that happens.)
