- So after my last jump it was good not to start out on the bad guy side. I was a bit anxious as Super hero stuff can get a bit crazy and I didn’t know how Yukari and Mizore would take it. Mizore who had memories of a life here took it rather well. She was still a bit shy when it came to working with heroes other than us.
- Yukari is bit of a show off so she just took it as an opportunity to show how awesome she was. Also she really enjoyed having comic book magic. In addition to that she struck up a rivalry with Zatanna.
- It was amazing being one of the founding members of the Justice League. It was great to be a hero and help people. Not that I hadn’t helped others in my other jump but to be so open about it and not have to hide it.
- There were a lot of disasters not covered by the cartoon, stuff like natural disasters or monster attacks (because why not) It seemed like I always had some way to help to save the day. It’s funny I had intended to be DC’s answer to Dr Doom power wise but I actually felt closer to The Doctor, Saving the day with technobabble or magical BS.
- Then there was Doomsday… Let me just say Doomsday is pure BS. I had dozens of ways to take care of the bastard without killing him like sticking him in an illusionary maze in another dimension… that only made him come back immune to illusions. I thought you had to kill him to get him to adapt but apparently not.
- Anyways things seemed to be going well. Despite Doomsday popping up a lot more often than he should have ( once a year, my behind.) Things were going good. I was able to solve problems with future knowledge and an obscenely versatile array of powers.
- Then came the Justice Lords…
- Now I was ready for them I knew they were setting a trap. I had made suggestions that the rest of the league have their suits insulated just for this trap. The idea was they try and electrocute us it fails, we pop out of the box and turn the tables on them. We had the numbers advantage after all… I thought.
- Instead of Electricity alone however we are bombarded with gas, debilitating sonic waves and blinding light. They threw everything at us. That should have been my hint something was wrong.
- Well we woke up and were each in special prisons customized for us. Strangely it wasn’t Batman keeping an eye on us… but me.
- I was a little dumbfounded; she seems keenly interested in me as well. I asked her why she was doing this, she told me that I already knew. I explained I was asking about her specifically. She just told me they are making a difference but I was unconvinced.
- I asked her how we are here. I Said I didn’t think there would be other versions of me out there without drawbacks. She admitted she is confused about that too. She didn’t know how I existed either.
- It wasn’t very long until we tried to escape our prisons, our first attempt didn’t work out as she knew the flash could speed up his heartbeat to appear to flat line.
- We finally managed to get out and convince their Batman that he they were wrong. So we went back to our own world. Now I knew things were going to be rough. They wanted to get help from Luthor. I informed them that they would actually be expecting that.
- It was decided instead we would do what they wouldn’t expect because it was relatively stupid. We would assault the watchtower directly. However to tilt things in our favors I used the super speed and a hidden cache of Batman’s to rig up a bunch of gadgets that complement their powers and covered their weaknesses.
- So Yukari and I work together using a spell to open a portal directly in to the watchtower. We arrived to alarms going nuts and it’s was not long before we had the full justice lords team on top of us.
- It turned in to a fairly brutal fight but during it I was talking to my counterpart. It was a tough fight because not only did she have all of my abilities she knew how to counter them and I her. It quickly turned in to a stalemate. The only thing that was having any effect on her was my words.
- At first she was quite hostile to me (we were fighting after all.) but I started asking her why she went so far, I hadn’t killed before this jump and assumed she was the same.
- It touched a nerve in her and she admitted that she had felt responsible to some degree for the flash’s death because she had knowledge of the future but still failed to save him. She had gone along with all of this because of her guilt.
- I told her that we do the best with what knowledge we have but sometimes it’s not enough. Things change in unforeseen ways and all we can do is the best we can. I also told her allowing her friends become fascist dictators who lobotomized or killed those who opposed them was wrong. There may have been a legitimate reason to kill Luthor in their world but they had gone far beyond what was acceptable. They had become something just as bad as the people they used to fight against. It didn’t matter how well intentioned they may have started off being.
- She surrendered right there, and with her surrendering so did her version of Yukari and Mizore who I suspected had just gone along with her. Things were then drastically against the Justice Lords so they tried to flee but didn’t make it.
- With them defeated it left us with the problem of what to do with them. Now I remembered what they did in the episode but not only had my counterpart destroyed Luthor’s Energy Disruptor
- Together my counterpart and I managed to rig up something that would work like the Energy disruptor from examining some of Luthor’s notes.
- It didn’t take us long, thankfully because of super speed so thankfully somehow we were able to keep the Justice lords from escaping.
- We returned the rest of the Justice Lords to their universe, now depowered to face justice. My counterpart and her companions wanted to stay in our universe for a while. The league was less than thrilled with this Idea. I spoke on her behalf explaining her situation. If she returned to her world she would be ostracized for the actions of the Justice lords. She had surrendered and wound up helping us.
- This lead to a close vote by the league… She was allowed to stay
- While Superman never told Amanda Waller about the Justice lords… Luthor did. He had deduced enough through their actions to get a general Idea of what was going on.
- Cabmus wound up being just as big a pain in the butt as they were in the main timeline I tried hard to stop Luthor but I honestly underestimated his ingenuity. One good thing though is we did save the Ultimen. I was able to create a genetic treatment to allow them full life spans. Longshadow even joined the league.
- Unfortunately later instead of sending a horde of Ultimen clones later they sent a horde of lesser versions of Doomsday instead. That was a rather nasty change. They were mindless and much weaker than the original but each one was a nightmare to put down and they kept getting back up.
- There were not as many of them but we barely kept the watchtower and then only because my counterpart was able to hold them off long enough for us to get Waller to call them off. Apparently she had some signal that sent them in to a docile state.
- My counterpart also helped out during events like the Thanagarian Invasion and the return of Amazo and other events I couldn’t stop from happening.
- It was great to have someone who knew what I had been through and who I could talk to about being a jumper. Even though I had plenty of friends in the universes I had visited and now had companions to share my journey with it still wasn’t the same.
- Eventually though the time to move on came. It was sad, even sadder than usual. She had to move on too. We wished each other well and promised to visit each other when we got our sparks.
