- Couldn't get any of the manips to work for BLUE+A as fast as A+A, just go with that for now I guess
- Don't really remember if playing on Red causes issues right now, used to be a problem for getting self-destruct, does it change connection warps? I think so. Not worth looking into right now, have blue Ditto.
- marowak kinda works, but either use a bunch of digs, or risk some bonemerangs
- but get thrash, not sure how helpful that is in an IT world
- also thrash is a range on arcanine (86% with 15dv), beedrill only has 80 attack in gen 1

- Connection strat is 1 sec faster, close enough that it depends how it affects later menus
- Koga Erika works the same, warps you directly above Erika, fine as long as we quickwarp to Surge
- May want to swap Sabrina item and erika item, since we get an extra textbox on every pokemon after changing TID
- Could also put HoF into TID, and get Erika from money (Sabrina doesn't work with money)
- Or just toss 61 from j item for Sabrina, but that might be slower
- Surge Quickwarp:
- Need 92 quantity, closest I can find is the 111 tm50s from earlier
- Can get a 91 during Sabrina warp, so close.
- Tossing to 92 before Gio is fine for Sabrina warp, but not Erika sadly
- Does mean can toss up to 22 from the TMs without timeloss though
- Also need to toss 3 from JACK, and get a high value into tileset.
- Ideally would do as much of this setup as possible before Gio, but requires things to align for both Sabrina and Erika warps

- Really wish Erika would work with TM50 x92, but cannot walk up after the fight :(
- Tossing the ultraballs saves a tile of movement on Blaine and Sabrina, but loses a tile on Erika
- Also need to find a new tm50 toss that works
- (toss 4 works up to Erika, cannot walk up after)
- (toss 6 works up to Erika, can only walk up 1 tile after)
- (toss 16-17 work on erika, but very slow, not worth)
- (toss 20-21 might work on erika without the ball toss)

- No, the exit is blocked
- Swapping JACK and TM50 early also seems to fail
- How long does a toss take? currently lose 7 tiles of movement on Sabrina,
- can save 5 tiles by tossing 6 at Gio, 14 before erika warp, then 2 to set Surgewarp
- Toss seems to take ~1.6 seconds, around 6 tiles of movement
- Working TM50 tosses for Blaine-Erika:
- 3 (7 tiles lost)
- 6 (2 tiles lost) (LUURURDDDRRRDDDR) (Can walk 1 tile up after Erika)
- 7 (0 tiles lost) (can walk up 2 tiles after Erika) (doesn't work, click item on Blaine menu)
- Toss 3 seems like only value that saves a toss, nothing saves enough steps to be worth a toss
- HoF from money:
- Buy 2 ropes, toss 6 after Blaine, swap out after Koga
- (Also need to buy 2 potions, so can toss. Haven't checked for click items yet)
- Could buy 1 rope and a burn heal instead if need only 1 rope
- Erika from Money:
- Need 0x69 (105) before Gio, or 0x72 (114) after Blaine to get it after Koga
- Need 0x83 (131) before Gio to get it after Blaine
- None of these look too likely unfortunately
- Surge from Money:
- Impossible directly, 0x60 is closest possible
- Not possible with current HoF money, ignore for now
- Dig from Blaine:
- Swapping away the JACK used for surge quickwarp isn't ideal
- No value for the potion stack lets you move up 3 tiles after Erika
- Tossing 20 TM50s works, same as before, as does tossing 3
- How to leave after Surge though?
- Not seeing this saving time even if I get it to work
- Adds an extra swap at minimum, I think this is slower :(
- Gio PC:
- Weird jingle plays even on Gio PC, annoying
- Not sure if better than Blaine PC, assumed Gio PC didn't have that, must be consequence of new glitch
- Very bad menu after Gio, since it seems we can't do the tileset swap before changing maps
- Or maybe I messed up there

- Naming time? 80 frames is a number i have in my head, no idea how accurate
- 70-80 according to Gifvex, so BLUE is faster
- How many times does player name print?
- 2 in intro
- 1 in oak starter talk
- 1 in starter manip
- 1 in rival pre-battle
- 2 at end of rival fight
- 1 from rival post-battle
- 1 getting parcel
- 6 in pokedex chat
- 1 getting antidote
- 2 at end of weedle fight
- 1 from ditto catch
- 1 from kadabra catch
- 20 total, so should be ~20 frames faster to go with BLUE
- Pre-manip route used A though, so maybe not correct
- Need to recheck for Ditto yoloballs now, yay
- Couldn't find any that idn't just lose all the timesave, good for now I guess
- Squirtle manip needs doing, don't have one on Blue with 1 character player name
- However, it may be worthwhile to just take the longer player name and use an existing fast manip, e.g.

- Different preset names
- Different manips, unknown which is currently faster
- Different "gym" layout for sabrina, surge, and brock warps
- Therefore different TM50 tosses (toss 3 no longer works, for example)
- Red menus:
- toss 7 tm50 for Blaine should work (saves all Sabrina movement too, but has a turn frame) (RUUUDRRDDRRDDD)
- Then toss 15 before warping to erika
- nope, click item on Blaine
- toss 20 works up to Sabrina (UUUDRRRDDDDRRD)
- then toss 2 on Erika
- No click item, just our good friend 9f
- Brock-HoF quickwarp idea:
- Step left 1
- Swap []F[] to warping
- Swap Great ball with HM04
- Swap glitch item to north connection, toss 18
- Walk up 2
- Swap North connection with warping, then tileset
- Swap ????? with []G[]
- Swap potion with HM05, toss 6
- Walk left 2, fight brock
- After fight walk 2 up
- Adds 2 swaps
- Saves a toss, 10 steps and a warp
- Seems faster by a couple of seconds, neat
- But also doable for old route, so not an advantage for kadabeedrill
- HoF from TID idea:
- Saves boosted exp textboxes on Erika, Surge and Misty (8 total)
- Rival name: ~~~s-hR (~ is any character) Aaas-hR should work? Aajs-hR technically optimal I think
- Swap 1st rival name into money after Blaine
- Swap it out (and use it) after Koga
- Get 76 from TID, a little awkward, can't swap directly to north connection
- Could swap it to warping, but that just loses all the time saved doing the quickwarp
- Can't get this to work sadly, post-misty menu is just too busy as is
- Put d6 in TID, swap warping to TID (Must be that order unfortunately)
- Can't see anything better without redoing the whole menu
- 20 inputs for this rival name, 18 for the old one, but not all inputs are equal
- (I think the new one might actually be faster with tas inputs)
- Rival name appears 17 times, so lose 17 more frames
- Save 4 scrolls on Gio menu
- 6 extra scrolls on Blaine, and an extra swap, but save a toss
- Save a swap on Koga
- Save 8 textboxes on Erika/Surge/Misty
- Lose 8 scrolls on the Brock menu
- Overall save 8 textboxes and a toss.
- Lose 10 scrolls, 2 rival name inputs, and 17 frames
- Definitely worth it, time to make another TID manip video I guess.
- The menus do still work
