Rustlemania 2013 in MADison Square Garden

<DamienLunas> <DamienLunas> The city is quite a sight to behold. The waterways and canals run all throughout selbina, with high bridges needed to cross over. There are small boats floating along the water ferrying passengers across the city.

<DamienLunas> <DamienLunas> Some decorations are already set up. They're generally festive, but you can't exactly tell what they're for. Some street musicians seem to be practicing studiously, perhaps in preparation of what's to come.

 Morty is walkking along Niki and Ms. Feathers. The little moogle is bug-eyed at the little metropolis. "I wonder what they're celebrating, kupo?"

<Niki> "There must be a holiday or local festival..."

<Morty> "We've been doing so much fighting lately, kupo... I think this is a good chance to just kick back and relax a bit... So whaddya wanna do, Niki?" he takes her hand, excitedly.

 Niki blushes and lowers her head, looking a bit too flighty to give a good answer. "A-ah..."

<Morty> "You're so cute when you do that, kupo~" he says lightheartedly. "Come on, let's go do something!"

<Niki> "C-cute?" She shakes her head, looking even more embarassed.

<Morty> "What's wrong?" he frowns, looking up.

<Niki> "Nothing!" She hurries forward, awkwardly looking for somewhere to distract Morty from her.

 Morty peers off one of the bridges as they start to pass. Distraction obtained?

<Morty> "Wow, the way this place is built over the water is amazing, isn't it?"

<DamienLunas> Morty spies a Gondola off the edge of a bridge, floating along the canal. There's a hume steering it, and a red-haired gria sitting back as a passenger.

<Morty> "How many tribes of Gria are there, Niki?" he asks, curiously. "I wonder which corner of the world that one's come from..."

<Niki> "The tribes united many years ago... Unless there are ones i don't know about."

 Niki approaches Morty, noticing the Gondola. "...Huh."

<DamienLunas> As Niki goes to look, the Gria turns around, their eyes meeting. She smiles as she takes flight from the boat, much to the driver's surprise as he tries to steady it. "Well well, isn't this a small world?"

<Niki> "...Lumi?" Niki frowns at the red-haired girl, crossing her arms. "What are you doing here?"

<DamienLunas> "Aww, who's this?" she asks looking down at Morty, disregarding Niki's question. "I didn't know you got a pet, Nick. He's a cute little thing."

<Morty> "Pet?" he looks around.

<DamienLunas> She puts her hand on morty's head and tousles his fur.

 Niki slaps her hand out of Morty's head. "He's my... B-boyfriend." She even struggles to let that out!

<DamienLunas> She tries to supress a smile, but ends up bursting out laughing. "Ahahahahaha! Oh my gosh... if I thought you had a sense of humor, I'd think that was an amazing joke!"

<Morty> "It's not a joke, kupo! What's wrong with that?" He's genuinely confused, not quite upset yet.

<Niki> "What are you even doing here? You were supposed to be with the rest of the Tribe!" She gives a deathglare to Lumi, looking quite angry.

<DamienLunas> "Speaking of the rest of the tribe, does Labbu Khan know? I wonder what she thinks of this..."

<Morty> He scratches his head, looking to his chocobo and back.

<Niki> "I told Grandma what i was doing, don't give me this crap!" She holds Morty's hand closer, keeping it tightened.

<DamienLunas> "So she knows about your choice of a mate then?"

<Morty> "I don't get it, kupo, is there something wrong with dating a moogle?" his ears flick a bit.

<DamienLunas> "Well, the title of Khan has been passed down by family for more than hundreds of years... but who knows? Maybe they'll make an exception just for you, Nick. Oh my gosh, maybe I could be the next Khan of the Dragon Scale Clan!

<Morty> "Wait, are you two related?"

<Niki> "She's just from my tribe, Morty... And..."

<DamienLunas> "As if. Just clanmates~"

<Niki> "I know i'm not worth of that."

<Niki> "I'm not strong enough to protect the Clan... But i'm working towards it." A flame flickers on Niki's eyes. "That's why i killed Scareye. With the help of this Moogle you think it's not a suitable mate!"

<Niki> "That's the reason about why i left... To become worthy of leading the Clan, and to find a way to get a home for all of us!"

<DamienLunas> she takes a moment to react, but settles on a smirk. "Well good for you. Congratulations on killing a bird that attacked us once like ten years ago."

 Morty glances between Niki and Lumi. Awkwaaard. He's starting to get a bit agitated, too. His ears are twitching a bit more frequently, though he's trying to hold it in.

 Niki looks like she's about to fume! However, she just turns her head and walks away, taking Morty along. "And yet it's more than anything you have done."

<DamienLunas> "Well I mean it's nice and all, but you need to think ahead a bit more. Think about the bigger picture."

 Morty is dragged off, still confused as heck to why this chick is being so nasty to Niki. Ms. Feathers waaarks and begins to follow, glaring at the other Gria.

<DamienLunas> "For instance, what happens to the clan when you and that little winged rat can't concieve a child?"

 Niki stops, tightening her hold even harder on Morty's hand. "...He's not a rat."

<DamienLunas> She grins as she seems to have gotten a rise out of Niki. "Well rats don't usually-"

<DamienLunas> she gets cut off mid-sentence as someone approaches her from behind and puts a hand on her shoulder.

<DamienLunas> Their face is concealed by a tightly wrapped blue turban, and they're wearing heavy dark robes. Lumi spins around, drawing her knife as the person touches her, but calms down after she gets a look at them.

<DamienLunas> "Oh, it's you. Really? You're wearing THAT in this weather? Whatever..."

<DamienLunas> "Looks like I'll have to put our little chat on hold. Think about what I said though. Toodles, Nick~"

<Morty> "I don't know why you're being so mean to Niki, but you're worrying about something that hasn't happened yet! I'm going to do whatever I can to help her! I may just be a moogle, but I'm not going to give up just because of that! I-" ...he sees she's going to leave and frowns.

<Niki> "Morty, don't."

 Niki tries to stop him, but she still looks quite tense! "She... She's probably from one of the competitors."

<Morty> "You think so, kupo?" he says quietly.

<DamienLunas> She heads off with the mysterious figure. All you can really guess is that their build is about the right size for a hume.

<Morty> He's just left mostly confused about things.

<Niki> "That's the only reason that i think she would be here."

<Morty> "Kids..." he mumbles quietly, thinking on that a moment.

 Niki remains silent.

<Morty> "Well... I'll stick by you no matter what you decide, Niki!" he perks back up. "A little thing like race isn't going to get in MY way, kupo. And besides, that seems like it'd be a long way off, anyway... Let's just deal with things as they come at us, okay?"

 Niki looks down... and HUGS Morty hard. "Yes... Yes we will."

 Morty hugs back!

<Morty> "So don't let her get to you! Let's just enjoy ourselves!"

<Niki> "All right then." She nodnods at Morty.

<Morty> "So, where to? This place is biiiig..."

<DamienLunas> (not that big actually.)

<Morty> (Oh)

<Morty> "This place has a lot of things just waiting to see!"

<Niki> "Ara?"

<Morty> "Ara ara?"

 Morty drags Niki to go find something interesting. :D

<DamienLunas> (do you want to keep going or are you waiting for me to end it?)

<Niki> (Well is there something else? i'm okay with it ending here :3)

<DamienLunas> (well if you still want to play out a date you can do that. I'd be more than up for it.)

<Morty> (Up to Plut)

<Niki> (Hmm i'm a bit busy atm, think we could end it right now)

<DamienLunas> (all right then)

<DamienLunas> Niki and Morty spend sometime seeing the sights until they meet up with the rest of the party again.
