  1. Lemon let out a long sigh. “Just let me be edgy!” He exclaimed, fixing his hair for what must’ve been the hundredth time that day.
  2. “But you’re such a cutie!” Orange said.
  3. Lime snickered. “The cutest”.
  4. “I am not! I’m cool! Look at me!”
  5. Grapefruit looked over at him, squinting a little. “All I see is a dork.”
  6. Lemon let out a groan as the girls giggled at him, thoroughly amused by this.
  7. “Oh yeah great to see you’re all having fun,” he mumbled, stepping away from the mirror now that he was content with how his hair looked. “Soon I’m going to have to start making fun of you guys!”
  8. Lime snickered. “You can try.”
  9. “I can and I will!” Lemon insisted, although when he actually went to think of something to tease her about he blanked.
  10. “Right. You have fun with that,” Lime teased.
  11. Oh well. At least they were having fun.
  12.
  13. It wasn’t very bad. In fact, this sort of scrape would be fixed up just fine with a bandaid. A big bandaid, yes, but it wasn’t that big of a deal.
  14. Yogurt seemed to think otherwise.
  15. “Aaaah, it hurts!” He whined loudly. He tried to squirm out of Lilac’s grasp, but their grip on his ankle was too tight. He let out a cry as they poked and prodded at it, putting on a cream that would help the wound heal better. “Nononono, don’t touch it!” He insisted, kicking him away with his other leg.
  16. It didn’t do anything and Lilac didn’t bother signing anything that he wouldn’t listen to anyway. They slapped a few bandaids on his leg and turned their hearing aids off so they wouldn’t have to listen to his whining any longer.
  17.
  18. Ted was an old plushie, and he was one that Walnut took with her EVERYWHERE. He was bound to tear at some point, but that didn’t mean that it didn’t distress her.
  19. She bit her nails as she glanced down at the tattered toy bear. What could she do? She didn’t have her sewing supplies anymore, she’d given it to Mint when she moved in and now she had no idea where it was.
  20. That meant she’d have to ASK for help.
  21. The idea wasn’t something she liked too much, but it was that or deal with Ted having a missing arm.
  22. She scooped him up, careful not to let any stuffing fall out. Slowly she headed down the stairs. “Rogue..?” She asked quietly. They were the only one home at the moment.
  23. “Hm? Can I help you?” They asked, glancing over at her.
  24. “Can you fix Ted for me...?” she asked quietly, hesitantly handing over her stuffed friend.
  25. Rogue smiled, gently taking the plush from her. “I certainly can! It should be simple enough.”
  26. A small smile came to her face. It was nice not having to do all these things herself.
  27.
  28. Sometimes it all grew to be too much.
  29. The ghosts screamed and howled and never shut up. Why did they swarm her like this? Why!?
  30. Blackberry glanced up when she heard the door open. “Good afternoon, sir,” she said, her voice as clear and empty as always.
  31. “Hey, Berry, we’re married. You can drop the formalities,” Adventurer said, coming into the room and sitting down next to her on the seat.
  32. “Yes, sir-“ she paused. “Yes, Addie. I apologize. It’s a habit at this point,” she said. It was nice to have a distraction. She stepped over into the real world, letting the ghosts fade into nothing. It was stressful to just be on one side, she lost contact with her friends and who knows what the ghosts might think if she stayed in the world of the living for too long?
  33. Still, it was nice to take a break sometimes.
  34. Adventurer began to talk about his latest plans. Blackberry was already planning her next rescue.
  35.
  36. Mint had brought him a gift.
  37. Dark was almost hesitant to open it. What could it be? He knew his brother well enough- at least, he thought he did- so he knew it couldn’t be anything bad. He was still a bit nervous, though.
  38. “What’s inside?” Cream asked. He knew that he didn’t mean to rush Dark or pressure him to open it, but it certainly felt that way.
  39. “I don’t know,” he mumbled, slowly fiddling with the ribbon on the top of the box. Once that was off he carefully tore into the wrapping paper, but soon found it pointless and just shredded it. Tossing the scraps aside, he now had just a little box.
  40. A music box, painted in blacks and grays and golds. It was pretty, with a special little key to go with it.
  41. The key opened up a little slot with a single switch, letting Dark turn it on. It was nice, really. He didn’t need to keep it wound.
  42. “Ooh, there’s a card in here too!” Cream commented, pulling it out of the box. Dark had missed that.
  43. He set the pretty little music box aside and took the card, reading it over a few times.
  44. A music box with Mint’s enchanted music. It was a thoughtful gift for sure!
  45. “I like it,” he said. Cream smiled, knowing full well that he absolutely adored that special little music box. It played a relaxing tune, one that would soothe him for years to come.
