If you own Eset Smart Security 8:
Install software VueScan
Run the software and click on "Help" and then "About" and enter the serial:

Then click "Continue" and then close the software
then
1 - Open the Advanced configuration of Eset Smart Security
2 - Network> Personal firewall> Rules and zones
3 - In Editor Zone and rule> click [Setup ...]
4 - Select Rules pane> click down on [New]
a - In the General pane give a name to the rule (eg vuescan)
Direction: Both
Action: Reject
Protocol: TCP & UDP
b - In the Local pane click [Browse ...] and select "vuescan.exe"
(eg C: \ Program Files \ VueScan \ vuescan.exe)
5 - Click OK and OK and OK.
Then start the VueScan software.
The software will now definitvement registered :)
