- Sergeant Azumi Emily Ian.
- A Mother To Her Men: Once someone's in her squad, she WILL fight as hard as she can to keep them all alive. She's a tough mother to them, but one none-the-less.
- Absolute Cleavage: Her Spy Catsuit, to her chagrin. It doesn't zip any further up. Check the entry on that below.
- Absurdly Sharp Blade: As per Metal Gear rules, this is actually subverted with her high-frequency blade. It is the heat generated by the high level of vibration rather than the edge of the blade that cuts through things.
- Action Girl
- Ain't Too Proud To Beg: Type 2 when her Morality Pets are threatened.
- Always Second Best: To Kynthia, Greg's dead girlfriend, except in strategy.
- Animal-Eared Headband: In her Spy Catsuit against her will.
- Anti Hero: Type III.
- The Apprentice: To Batman. Sort of to Ezio Auditore da Firenze, but only tangentially.
- Appropriated Appellation: Was given the title of Huntress from a dying simulation of Ra's al-Ghul. Also "the Wraith", given by the insane cultists of Fairport.
- Arch Enemy: Yuki "Rikka" Masami, though the feeling has only become mutual recently. Also a Friendly Enemy in some very minor degrees on some cases.
- Armor Is Useless: Subverted somewhat, in that the armor does deflect certain blows, but she can still take damage about as easily as anyone else. Also, she always looks for ways to upgrade her armor.
- Asskicking Equals Authority: How she initially rose in the ranks to Lance Corporal, and technically how she rose to Sergeant.
- Aura Vision: Her Visual Intelligence System, Reconnaissance (VISR) acts this way, giving a red outline around enemies; a green around allies; an orange around scenery, neutral targets, and invisible enemies; yellow around objectives; and blue around unmanned weapons. Standard issue for ODSTs, and technological, not magical, it also acts as an Enemy Detecting Radar.
- Bad Dreams: Does have them, most often about the Collective, the Flood, and/or glassing, with more facets with different experiences. Though not every night, frequently.
- Badass: Time will tell if this gets across, but she's meant to be a deconstruction of the concept. Yes, she can do a lot of things that are cool, and are usually in the realm of things a normal person could do. However, you do not want to go through the pain she went through to get there. Respect, yes. Wanting to emulate, no.
- Badass Creed: "Jump feet first into hell." Also variations on the same, such as simply "feet first," which is a borderline Catch Phrase.
- Badass In Distress: Her time with the Collective counts. Less her time with M. Jess, since she wasn't really sane enough to be considered "badass".
- Badass Normal: Reconstructed and self-enforced. She begins as incapable of holding her own against villainous Interferences, but has imposed self-induced Training From Hell in order to be able to still fight. The self-enforcement comes when she wants to prove she doesn't need powers.
- Baddie Flattery: Recipient from Rikka.
- Beauty Is Never Tarnished: Averted. Azumi does get severe head trauma at one point, messing up her face. Though potions do fix it, the change does have a definite impact on how some viewed her.
- Being Good Sucks: Oh yeah, definitely. Depending on the situation and which villains are involved, sometimes dips into No Good Deed Goes Unpunished.
- Berserk Button: Do not endanger Greg Zivaku or his family, or her crew. Also, do not imply or state that she is weak willed. Just...don't. People who do don't end out well.
- Bi The Way: Is attracted to both genders, but is reluctant to engage in "fraternization."
- Big Good: Granted, the Assassin Order operates on a Gray morality, but she is one of, if not the leader of the Assassin Order sect of Interferences, and her methods are decidedly more in the way of "good" than "evil". Also qualifies as a Badass In Charge.
- Bottomless Magazines: Averted. Azumi reloads or checks her ammunition whenever she has a spare moment, or if she can get behind cover to do so.
- Boyish Short Hair: Often, though she isn't above showing a feminine side. She just prefers to show herself as capable of things beyond a stereotype.
- Broken Bird: From her homeless, family-less nature to what she saw in the Human-Covenant War to her frequent humiliation, she has been turned to this out of necessity.
- Broken Faceplate: Twice so far. First, her form's mask in "Shadow of the Bat" was cut by Talia al Ghul, then her actual helmet faceplate was shattered with a few bashes from a Brute War Chieftain (second-highest rank for the entire Brute military, behind the leader of the race).
- Brown Eyes
- Cannot Spit It Out: To Greg about her feelings until it was too late, why she does not want others to make the same mistake.
- Canon Immigrant: Of a sort. She was originally a plot character based on interactions between two users, but was applied for in its entirety.
- The Chains of Commanding: Really feels these as the Mentor of the Interference Assassins.
- Clothing Damage: Non-fanservice. Her armor has been torn up a lot in "Prepare to Drop" in preparation for her acquisition of a new set. Sort of a variant on Trash The Set.
- Code Name: Hotel Kilo Two, formerly simply Kilo Two. Means "HK-2" in the Military Alphabet. Signifies her Red Baron name (Huntress) and her old unit (Fireteam Kilo).
- Cold Blooded Torture: Literally in a sense once. Mirrorverse!Jessica used repeated "Pressure" spells to asphyxiate her until her mind snapped into two different personalities, one of which ("Zumi") was her total puppet until her death. The effects still linger.
- Collapsible Helmet: In Space Paranoids after "The Game Has Changed", a'la TRON: Legacy and TRON: Evolution, the latter of which has some tech usable. Also, in a variation, she can control the opacity of her normal helmet through her neural uplink to make her face visible or invisible behind a mirrored lens.
- The Combat Pragmatist
- Cool Helmet: Her ODST helmet, complete with a Helmet Mounted Sight when opaque.
- The Cowl: Growing into the role. See Terror Hero.
- Crazy Awesome: As the Halo character page says, it takes a special kind of crazy to be an ODST. For example, she skyjacked (hijacked in midair) a flying plane going for a bombing run after jumping off of an ATV with no driver moving at a speed of around eighty miles per hour.
- Crazy Prepared: Is trying to become this just to cope with the worlds. Unsuccessfully thus far, but training works either way.
- Dark Is Not Evil: Keeps to the shadows as much as she can and wears dark armor, but is definitely a good person.
- Deadpan Snarker
- Deal With The Devil: First with Mirrorverse!Jessica to protect Greg and Kynthia at the expense of all freedom, then set to be with Rikka and the Collective at the expense of personal pride.
- Death Seeker: Has shades of this. While she is reasonable and does try her absolute best at everything, she still truly does not care if she dies as long as the people she cares for will be looked after, seeing as her family is dead and she is legally dead.
- Defeat By Modesty: Her method of obtaining her first victory against Rikka Masami was....not the nicest.
- Did You Just Flip Off Cthulhu: Her insults to the various Collective members seems to fit into this scheme, though they have yet to work.
- Doomed Homeworld: Her planet, Jericho VII, was glassed (rendered uninhabitable) in the years that she traveled through.
- Drill Sergeant Nasty: Only when she is trying to hide how she feels about something, or when she is extremely angry. More often the former, as she tries to keep her true emotions in check.
- Drink Order: Takes the strongest thing in the house when she goes drinking, which isn't often.
- Drop Pod: What she comes down in as part of her ODST job.
- Drowning Her Sorrows: Upon learning of the fate of her homeworld and likely her family, she engaged in this. Intoxication Ensues with Rose due to having such strong drinks, causing a rapid Mood Whiplash.
- Dye or Die: Kind of. She dyed her hair with bleach in order to make her way into the military at a young age.
- Easy Logistics: Averted as far as is needed. Many Interferences don't eat, so food is a nonissue, but extensive effort is made to make plans work out correctly when she is in command of a unit of Interferences.
- Elites Are More Glamorous: Averted. Azumi will not hesitate to say she has had to do some pretty nasty things as a shock trooper.
- Elite Army: A member of two of these at the same time. Mostly an ODST, but the InterAssassins sort of count based on how they do missions.
- Embarrassing Middle Name: Sort of. Dani calling her "Emily" tends to annoy her.
- Embarrassing Nickname: "Zumi". Initially an Affectionate Nickname from Liv Stevens, its use as a literal Pet Name by M. Jess turned it into this.
- Emotions vs Stoicism: Wavers a lot.
- Everyone's Dead Dave: She is the only surviving member of Fireteam Kilo. Greg was revived, but nobody else on her squad survived and made it back to their ship.
- Expy: An unintentional one of Riza Hawkeye in some extents. Comparisons can also be made to Agent Washington of Red vs. Blue, or, as was in a slight case intended, to Captain Veronica Dare of Halo 3: ODST. Also has growing similarities to Mark Spector, the Moon Knight of Marvel Comics and an Alternate Company Equivalent to Batman himself.
- Fantastic Racism: Of a sort. She hates SPARTAN IIs for a different reason than many other ODSTs, but if she could find out that they aren't completely emotionless and do actually care about people she would likely change her opinion.
- Fatal Flaw: Azumi will do whatever it takes to protect the Zivaku family and her team. This tends to get her into worse situations than she normally would be in.
- Fear Leads To Anger: She has admitted that she is afraid of Dani and Rikka, and also shows extreme hatred toward them, so this is likely implied.
- The Fettered
- Field Promotion / You Are In Command Now: How she rose from Lance Corporal to Corporal, taking Greg's position.
- Fiery Redhead: Zigzagged. She is only angry because she forces herself to be as such to hide her emotional instability. However, because she does so in so many situations, she does become angry, partly as a result of said training.
- Fire Breathing Weapon: Briefly used a M7057/Defoliant Projector when in New Mombasa.
- Foe Yay: With Rikka Masami. See Villainous Crush.
- Foil: To Rikka, Urd, Zero, Cetea, eventually Kitten, and probably others.
- Four Man Band: Her Fireteam Kilo. She was the Normal one.
- Four Philosophy Ensemble: Again Fireteam Kilo. She was the Realist.
- French Maid: Has visual elements of this in her maid attire, though she doesn't act it unless instructed by her "lady", Rikka.
- Fridge Brilliance: Her homeworld is called "Jericho VII." Jericho in Greek means "Moon City." This means that she came from "Moon City 7," placing a lunar affiliation on a second woman who likes Greg Zivaku. This was completely unintentional.
- Genius Bruiser: Not quite a genius, but a combat-oriented version of The Strategist might fit.
- Genre Savvy: Does know a lot about how a villain would or would not act based on fiction and research, though she doesn't really know Batman comics personally due to them possibly not existing in her time, and if they did, she didn't bother with them. Also has enough basic intelligence to be a fairly successful black operations soldier.
- Girls With Guns: A soldier, after all.
- Go-Go Enslavement: Her catsuit she is given by Mirrorverse!Jessica fits the bill. Her maid uniform to come is a minor example of this.
- Gone to the Future: Was caught in a temporal ripple in the year 2531 (Halo Wars) whilst in Human Popsicle storage, sending her to Radiant Garden while her universe moved forward to the year 2552 (Halo 2 and more recently Halo 3: ODST).
- Good Is Not Nice: Sometimes.
- Good Looking Privates: Well, she was drawn by Umiyuri. Also explicitly stated as attractive, and has certain physical traits of Selina Kyle of the Arkhamverse (mainly the hindquarters).
- Good Old Fistcuffs: Proficient in hand-to-hand combat. Was the best on her fireteam at it, but that doesn't necessarily mean she's up to par with Interferences. As of her extensive training with Batman, however, she probably is better than many Interferences at it.
- Green Eyed Monster: Admits that she is jealous of Kynthia for having Greg's love, but doesn't push it, only trying to make sure she doesn't break his heart again. Sort of justified, seeing as she is Always Second Best to Kynthia in Greg's eyes, and he talked about her very often.
- Grey DeLisle: In her Azula voice, and her Catwoman voice when on the rare occasion of her trying to seduce someone for a plan (the latter of which has only very rarely happened).
- Grievous Bottley Harm: Once defeated a Heartless using only a Potion bottle.
- Groin Attack: Several done, once to her in a training simulation.
- Guilt Complex: If anything goes wrong on a mission that isn't deliberately the fault of a third party except for the death of a teammate, she automatically puts all blame on herself. She also takes the fall for anyone else in terms of punishment as much as possible.
- Gun Stripping: A habit when she gets anxious. Given she's a soldier, she kind of has to know her way around a gun aside from just how to shoot.
- Hair of Gold: Subverted. Tried to bleach her hair blonde, but it ended up going orange.
- Hammerspace: Her rucksack on her back has it due to Merlin, to justify how she is able to carry so much equipment as a kind of Bag of Holding.
- Hammerspace Arsenal: Though she can hold as many healing items as others, she can only hold and use two guns at any one time unless she constantly holds a third instead, slightly averting this trope.
- Handguns: The M6C/SOCOM "Automag" handgun.
- Heartbroken Badass
- Helmets Are Hardly Heroic: Averted. If she is ever in combat, Azumi will make sure she has her helmet on if possible.
- Helpless Good Side: "Zumi" after "Reflections in a Mirror". If she's choked with water or otherwise asphyxiated for a lengthy time, she becomes completely subservient and will do anything to stop the pain.
- Heroic BSOD: Goes through one almost immediately after her initial Interference upon learning that her homeworld was glassed, her parents likely dead. Also, set to have several more over time.
- Heroic Vow: She will never abandon her team or Greg's family (that including the men's girlfriends). This has proven to be more trouble than its really worth, but the fact that she still sticks to it does place her as some form of martyr.
- Heroic Willpower: The only reason she managed to escape her hypnosis by Dani, though it did take a long time, and left her with lasting psychological scars, including her case of I Kiss Your Foot. Aside from that, she has no magical resistance whatsoever.
- Hollywood Silencer: On her M6C/SOCOM "Automag" pistol and M7S Submachine Gun.
- Hope Spot: "Steel and Light" functions as this for her. She did pretty well against Rikka, and did win, albeit underhandedly. However, she also went on a crash course for Fairport courtesy of the Light of Destruction herself soon after, and her life is set to get even worse.
- Human Popsicle: How she traveled around in slipspace before Interfering, and also how she made her way to Radiant Garden. She had freezer burn as a result of wearing clothes in there.
- Hurting Heroine: See Broken Bird.
- I Kiss Your Foot: Twice, both a complete cleaning of the foot with her tongue, or a polishing of the boot in the case of Dani. Only once was it without hypnosis thus far.
- I Surrender, Suckers: Uses Rikka's arrogance against her in "Steel and Light" this way in her first Batman Gambit.
- I Want My Beloved To Be Happy: Well, a crush. She admits she's jealous of Kynthia, and hates some of how she acts toward him, thinking he deserves better, but she lets him live through it because it's what he wants.
- I Will Punish Your Friend For Your Failure: Pretty much the terms she's under when she's forced to work for someone, mostly Greg and/or Kynthia. More prominent with the alliance with the Collective, though.
- Improbable Aiming Skills: Generally averted. She doesn't always hit, nor does she always get headshots.
- Improvised Weapon: Will use anything she can get her hands on. Including a Potion bottle once.
- In Space Everyone Can See Your Face: Can depolarize her armor's visor for communication, but polarizes it for combat. See One Way Visor.
- Incompatible Orientation: Given her CO was completely Kynthiasexual.
- Infrared X-Ray Camera: Her upgraded VISR for her Wraith suit has it, albeit more realistically than some, since it's harder to get a good feed on their heat signature through walls. Still can see increased heart rate and falling heart rates, though.
- Instant Expert: Averted as much as I can. Unlike many Interferences, she has trouble doing some skills until she gets weeks of training at it.
- Iron Woobie: See Broken Bird.
- Irrational Hatred: Of Jessica Mireu. Not entirely irrational, considering the face, voice, clothing, and weapon are the same as the woman who tortured her near insanity with water boarding, but definitely out of proportion. Measures are being established to fix this in the future.
- It Gets Easier: Giving herself up, though she hates herself for it.
- Its Raining Men: From orbit as part of her job description.
- Jack Bauer Interrogation Technique: Sometimes applies this to get quicker information, but has no reservations about calling it what it really is. That, and she normally uses it to keep someone from talking, since she knows that torture does not always work.
- Jerk With A Heart Of Gold: How some might view her. She's more of a "professional who doesn't want to have unnecessary setbacks" than a jerk, though. She's just hard about it.
- Jerkass Façade
- Just Friends: Unfortunately with Greg. She's aware that it's one-sided, but it doesn't really hurt less.
- Kinetic Weapons Are Just Better: Subverted. She doesn't only use kinetic weapons by any standpoint, but just has a preference for them out of familiarity.
- The Kirk: Of the InterAssassin leadership trio, to Zero's Spock and Cetea's McCoy.
- Kissing Under The Influence: What happens in Port Royal stays in Port Royal, especially when heavily drunk. Rose, for the record, and it doesn't really mean anything for either of them aside from that Azumi will try her best to stay away from her.
- Knife Nut: Has her UNSC issue combat knife for close combat aside from her unarmed skill, though it isn't too effective except in the case of assassinations or some Heartless.
- Knight In Sour Armor
- Know When To Fold Em: While a Determinator, she will consider trying to escape a conflict if it is impossible to find any benefit in continuing.
- Le Parkour: Proficient as of "Edge and Flight".
- The Leader: Type II with some very thin shades of the anger of a Type III.
- Lightning Bruiser: In close combat, she is fast, but strong, to the point that people are sometimes surprised at how fast she can be. Being pretty brutal doesn't hurt either.
- Limited Waredrobe: Averted, a rarity in the forum. She regularly changes between her armor, a casual outfit, her maid uniform, or a modified Assassin outfit, in addition to her upcoming Wraith armor.
- Living With The Villain: A variation, in that both of them know exactly who each other is, but Rikka does not know about Azumi's "Wraith" activities. And, after a fashion, neither does Azumi.
- Love Is A Weakness: Not exactly, but her philosophy for herself is based on this. She doesn't impose it on others, but tries to avoid romantic attachment for this reason. It kind of fits into a Paralyzing Fear of Sexuality, though not overtly.
- Luckily My Shield Will Protect Me: Her Kig-yar point defense gauntlet projects a shield that is invulnerable to kinetic weapons, though it can be knocked away, and plasma, fire, and photokinesis to take it down for a time.
- Machete Mayhem: Her newer Jiralhanae combat knife is more of a serrated, curved version of this than a knife for a human.
- Made a Slave: Briefly to Mirrorverse!Jessica as part of a Deal With The Devil. Technically, her upcoming "employment" to Rikka counts as well.
- Madness Mantra: At times of stress after Fairport was escaped, she delves into repetitions of "Instinct, training, discipline, control." It's a little creepy and sad.
- Martial Medic: Though not to the degree of an expert, she has some degree of medical training, including some drugs and bonesetting.
- Master of None: Had no real specialty in her old fireteam aside from perhaps strategy.
- Mildly Military: Generally won't tell someone not to call her by a rank, but usually has no problem with it being given. That said, she's not afraid to pull rank when necessary.
- Military Maverick: If she does not believe in a mission, she will not follow it or will change it to something more beneficial.
- Military Superheroine: As of her training with Batman.
- Mind Rape: Suffers it at the hands of her post-traumatic stress disorder, her time in Fairport, and her time in the hands of the Collective. Due to her fragile mental state, she is easier to crack psychologically than the average UNSC officer.
- More Dakka: Is a fan, though she realizes the issues with a stationary turret, and so usually relies on her M7S.
- The Musketeer: In a sense. She prefers guns, but is learning her way at close combat. She is very good with unarmed combat, and has both a machete and a combat knife.
- Neural Implanting: Her standard-issue UNSCDF neural interface is implanted to the back of her head, giving both identification and VISR capabilities.
- Neutral Good
- Never A Self Made Woman: More or less averted. She gets by on her prowess alone, and, though she did get her promotion to Corporal from Greg, it was entirely due to merit aside from how he was going to die anyway.
- Ninja: More or less. Spec Ops teams like the ODSTs are pretty much modern day ninja, with those being futuristic ninja. Gained even more ninja-like nature in "Shadow of the Bat." And then there's the point when she becomes the leader of a sect of Assassin's Creed style assassins in the southwest areas of Haven City.
- Ninja Maid: Of the Collective, and more accurately, of Rikka.
- Night Vision Goggles: VISR operates like this, along with other functions. As with most nightvision, it is detrimental in strong light.
- Not Wearing Tights: Says as much to Batman during their training. Unfortunately, M. Jess thinks otherwise later (see Spy Catsuit).
- Nothing Up My Sleeve: As of "Ashes of Arkham", keeps one of the sets of Floyd "Deadshot" Lawton's wrist mounted silenced guns on one arm or two, usually armed with nonlethal rounds. These are usually hidden under her sleeves, and are unknown to most if not all villains. Technically also her Shockblade, but that's more invisible.
- Number Two: Formerly literally. See You Are Number Two.
- Of Corsets Sexy: Against her will when in her uniform as Rikka's maid.
- One Of The Boys: To the point where she takes it as a compliment when someone calls her a man, though she also calls being feminine some degree of a compliment.
- One Way Visor: When in combat, polarizes her visor so as to allow her weapon HUD and targeting reticle up. Can depolarize, though. See In Space Everyone Can See Your Face.
- Only Sane Woman: Granted, one of many of this type, but she fully grasps just how bizarre what they go through is, seeing as she does not personally engage in the magic of it all herself. Cheryl is close, but she bluntly talks about biologically impossible processes. Also ironic, considering her Sanity Slippage.
- Orphan's Ordeal: Rather late in her life, yes, but she did run away from home at the age of sixteen. She tries to cope with the probability of her parents' loss by shoving herself into her work and dedicating her life to continuing to protect those close to her, even at the sacrifice of parts of herself.
- Parental Abandonment: In a sense inverted. See The Runaway. She has no idea if they are alive, but it is extremely believable that they are not.
- Parental Surrogate: Bruce "Batman" Wayne of the DCAU to her. Also, she is set to become one to Kitten Arbore.
- Passive Aggressive Kombat: Post-Siren's Call encounters with Rikka Masami tend to go down this route, at least initially.
- Possession Implies Mastery: Averted with her Brute machete and high frequency blade. She is basically just swinging them around as best as she can, using knife training. For that, like anything, she needs to have actual training to be good with.
- Pride: Has a little bit of a problem with this, though not nearly as much as her archenemy, and can swallow it.
- Properly Paranoid: Assumes anyone can be a threat, which has admittedly only caused her any real trouble once, and even then was not too big of a deal.
- Real Women Don't Wear Dresses: Why she doesn't wear one (except when forced by Rikka), but she doesn't hold anything against those who do. It's just preference on her part.
- Reality Ensues: Frequently.
- Really Seventeen Years Old: Sixteen when she joined the UNSCDF, but lied about her age as eighteen.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: Seems to be growing into one in terms of when she has leadership.
- Red Baron: Huntress, as given by a simulation of Ra's al-Ghul as a Legacy Character, though not a Sidekick.
- Red Oni: To Zero and Batman's Blue Oni. Not to the point of distraction, but can be irritated more easily.
- Redheaded Hero(ine): By accident due to hair dye not working right. And it's not natural, and can go away given time.
- Reluctant Fanservice Girl: Not played for laughs at all.
- The Resenter: See Green Eyed Monster.
- Returning War Vet: Replace "returning" (seeing as the war is still going on) with "gone Interfering", and that's totally her.
- Revenge: Her overall goal with regards to the Collective, against primarily both Rikka, who has lain "claim" to her as a maid since their first meeting; and Dani, who hypnotized and humiliated her along with Rikka.
- Reverse Grip: Often holds the combat knife this way.
- Room Full of Crazy: The meat locker in Best Save Co. of Fairport during "Little Girl in the World Below."
- Rule of Seven: Sees a lot of things in sevens. Blame Bungie (and Stosh).
- The Runaway: Azumi at a young age. She never forgave herself after hearing that her world was glassed.
- Sacrificed Basic Skill for Awesome Training: A pretty bad cook, though not to Lethal Chef standards and definitely remediable.
- Samus Is A Girl: This revelation has been reached several times by various characters. She actually tries to make this effect through the use of little speech during interrogations so that she can catch people off-guard later.
- Sanity Slippage: Interfering has, I repeat, not been nice to her. Mind Rape tends to do that.
- Screw The Rules, I'm Doing What's Right: The reason she sometimes disregards orders from superiors.
- Secret Identity: "The Wraith", as of "Pale Rider".
- Secret Keeper: For Batman's identity as Bruce Wayne. Highly debatable, since most Externals would know, and the few Internals who would still wouldn't really care one way or the other (except Scarecrow). Only really notable for her among Interferences because she calls him "Bruce" to his face, albeit in relative privacy.
- See the Invisible: Only technologically invisible. Magical invisibility gets under her VISR.
- Semper Fi: Though she doesn't flaunt it everywhere, only where she can actually make her rank mean something. In most cases, saying she's from the Marines is to give a slight bit of background only.
- Sensual Spandex: Latex, actually, and not by choice. See Spy Catsuit.
- Sergeant Rock: She may shout and have harsh discipline, but will not ask anyone to do something she does not know if she can do herself. If only that person is shown to be capable, she will rely on their expertise, only being angry for explicit disregard of orders.
- Sergeant Rough: To Zero's Captain Smooth.
- Servile Snarker: Really takes after A.L.F.R.E.D. once she gives in to Rikka. Well, as much as she can without being reprimanded.
- She Cleans Up Nicely: Whether she wants to or not.
- Shell Shocked Veteran: Only really comes to the forefront when faced with the Flood or glassing, but there none-the-less.
- Sighted Guns Are Low Tech: Averted. Favors sighted weapons.
- Silk Hiding Steel: Forces this façade to keep on Rikka's good side.
- Space Marine: See Semper Fi.
- Sniper Rifle: Her Dead Space universe Seeker Rifle, which she also uses for shotgun breaching.
- Something About a Rose: Has three pink Japanese roses on her maid uniform.
- Spy Catsuit: Her dark blue and black catsuit with a matching headband with leopard ears given by M. Jess, as shown in her journal. She is not amused, not by the necessary Vapor Wear nor by the placement of her etherspace pouch for it as a Victoria's Secret Compartment. While it gives her a more flexible combat range in hand to hand, she still knows what it symbolizes for her.
- The Squadette: In Fireteam Kilo.
- Squick: Has her leg shattered in New Mombasa, with a Sickening Crunch. Earlier, licked dirt and grime off of a woman's shoes while under hypnosis.
- Static Stun Gun: Gets a stun sword. Still is looking for a nonlethal long range weapon, though.
- Stealth Insult: A fan of these. Given her position in the Collective, she sort of has to be.
- Stepford Snarker: What you get when you mix a Broken Bird and a Deadpan Snarker.
- Stocking Filler: Silver nylons in her maid uniform.
- Stuff Blowing Up: Is a fan of explosives, though she still has trouble getting her hands on them. Does have UNSC frag grenades, though she only can bring two to four on any one trip before needing to restock.
- Submissive Badass: To Rikka.
- Teach Me How To Fight: Kind of the point of a vast majority of "Shadow of the Bat."
- The Team Normal: In most if not all of her Interference teams if she has them.
- Technical Pacifist: Forced to a Thou Shalt Not Kill mentality by Batman, but is not above Loophole Abuse, shooting someone and having them Left For Dead, giving a wound that won't kill immediately, or implying to others that she would like them to do the deed instead. Also, this only applies to humans. Nonhumans are fair game.
- Terms of Endangerment: Subverted with being called "my dear Azumi" by Rikka. She doesn't actually mean her any harm as long as she does as she's told. Played straight with "Zumi" and M. Jess.
- Terror Heroine: Type 3, as a result of her different types of training. Has been trained as something of a Type 1, however, though not as much as a Type 3. Also a Type 5 of sorts in Nirn only due to Zero helping spread her reputation for two hundred years, though it's not very overt.
- The Dead Have Names: A believer, enhanced by the fact that her entire team died unsung.
- They Fight Crime: With Cetea mostly, as seen and lampshaded in "Risky Business". She's a hardline human with no powers who wants to lighten up! She's a softhearted asari with biotic telekinesis who wants to be tougher! Together, they fight crime!
- Took A Level In Badass: "Shadow of the Bat" encompassed her taking one in close combat and stealth tactics, though she was by no means un-badass before.
- Training From Hell: Has undergone two types thus far: UNSC Marine Corps Special Forces training for the ODSTs and further combat and mental training under Bruce "Batman" Wayne. One might count Greg's training in the ODSTs as a separate level, but that is less known.
- Tranquil Fury: When Azumi is angry, she will start by making annoyed comments, then start shouting... then stop shouting entirely. You do not want to get her to the third stage.
- Trauma Conga Line: With a few rare exceptions, Interfering has not been a pleasant experience for her.
- Try To Catch Me Fighting Dirty
- Tsundere: Type A, only going deredere sometimes around Greg or occasionally around Batman if he can break her down, along with perhaps Kitten. Recently, Rikka also has seen this side of her a few times.
- Twenty Four Hour Armor: Averted, as she is seen with a normal shirt on instead of her chest armor at once point in "Swan Song", and so it is implied that she does not wear it all of the time. She even has several different outfits she uses, with the armor just being the most often seen.
- Two Aliases, One Character: Actually, four aliases. She uses "Lightsworn" for her dealings for Rikka, "Huntress" or "Hunter" for her InterAssassin work and closer Batman work, "Kilo Two" or "Hotel Kilo Two" for her military operations, and "Wraith" for private manipulation and stealth operations for herself.
- Unknown Rival: Sort of with Rikka until "Steel and Light".
- Unphased Everywoman: Well, not exactly an everywoman, but a non-powered Interference who just tends to roll with the weird.
- Vibroblade: Her high-frequency wakizashi is this.
- Villainous Crush: Inverted with Rikka, who she does find attractive, but hates and is...rather unwilling to say as much to. See Foe Yay.
- Vitriolic Best Buds: Sort of a Type 2 with K1-R4 when they partner up. She generally loses snarking contests to the AI, though.
- Vomit Indiscretion Shot: If you were forced to literally eat dirt off of someone's feet, you'd probably vomit too.
- War Is Hell: Firm believer. Even says as much once.
- Warrior Therapist: With growing prominence.
- We Will Wear Armor In The Future: From a Marine Corps in the early to mid 26th century, and still wears body armor.
- What Measure Is A Nonhuman?: Played with. She doesn't believe in this philosophy in and of itself, and will defend anyone who truly deserves it, human or not. However, she does use it as a justification to give her times when she is still allowed to kill while following Batman's orders.
- Why Did It Have To Be Snakes?: Asphyxiation, mostly water boarding or otherwise drowning. Justified by her Cold Blooded Torture.
- With Due Respect: On occasion, though if she is going to disregard orders, she generally does not say so.
- Would Not Shoot A Civilian: Usually. She only attacks any civilian in self-defense, except when under extreme stress.
- You Are Number Six: Kept the numbered alias of "Kilo Two" willingly after her time travel. Subverted in that it's just meant to identify her in military terms, not to marginalize her.
- Your Eyes Can Deceive You: Learns this as a part of her training with Batman so as to be able to still fight if she is blinded mid-VISR use again.
