  1. Covet: Kelsey was sitting at the counter, Connor sitting next to her coloring one of the kids menus witht he four colors of crayon they offered. She was sipping at a mug of tea and kind of lost in her own thoughts. After having the discussion with her parents today she was feeling a little down and distracted.
  2. Alexithymiaa: -Brad was relieved that Evan was returning to work tomorrow, finally easing up on all the extra work he'd been doing over the last week and a half. Sitting down at the counter beside Kelsey and his waiting plate of food, he grabbed his fork and stabbed at a piece of wedged potato, bringing it up to his mouth to take a bite. "What're you coloring over there?"-
  3. Covet: Connor looked over at Brad, " It's a dog that's an astronaut." He said coloring the dogs space suit. "Can I have one of your potato wedges Dad?" He asked looking over at him. // Kelsey leaned back aso that Connor could hold his hand out. She hadn't said much of anything , but did speak up to remind Connor for his manners. // Connor looked at her, "Oh right, Please, Dad?"
  4. Alexithymiaa: "Yes you may." He said as he picked up a potato wedge, holding it out to him and then pausing to wait for a thank you since they were on that manners thing right now. "I really like your astronaut dog. Right Kels? He's really cool looking."-
  5. Covet: "Thanks Dad." He said with a smile and dipped it into the ketchup on his plate. // Kelsey looked over and smiled, "Yeah, it's really nice kiddo. I like the color of his suit." /// Connor stopped and looked at her, "Well it's not like I had a lot of choices." he said pretty flatly.
  6. Alexithymiaa: "You're welcome." He said as he stabbed his own potato wedge with his fork, taking a bite. "What are you talking about? You need to think outside the box. You may only have those four colors, but that doesn't mean the whole suit needs to be one color. Maybe you can make it striped. Or outlined in one color and filled in with another."-
  7. Covet: "Dad, it has to be blue because it's harder to see in the dark space, so the aliens can't get him." Connor said looking at him. "If it was stripped they'd definitely see him" // Kelsey smiled and shook her head, " Well you can't really argue with that logic now can you."
  8. Alexithymiaa: "Hey, logic beats creativity sometimes. I concede." He said as he held up his hands, looking to Kelsey. "Have you been teaching him about space and astronauts and the rules they have with aliens?"-
  9. Covet: "No, my friends and I at school have been reading about aliens." Connor said as he went back to coloring. // "Sorry, I can't take credit for that. That's all him." She said then let her face drop a moment sipping from her cup again.
  10. Alexithymiaa: "Wow. Reading about aliens, huh? That sounds like it would be fun and interesting." He tried, but realistically the moment Connor said he was reading, Brad was going to have to lie about how interesting that was. He looked at Kelsey again, furrowing his brows. "Doing okay?"-
  11. Covet: "They're really good books about space adventurers." He said with a nod. "They're exciting." // Kelsey looked over at Brad, "I'm holding on... Still kind of in shock of the flip flop of emotions from them. I never thought my mom would be the one to hold this against me, and for my Dad to be completely forgiving."
  12. Alexithymiaa: "Thats really cool, Buddy. You'll have to show us." He said to him before returning to Kelsey. "Well realistically... your dad probably doesnt think he has as much time to hold a grudge as your mom does...."-
  13. Covet: "I will." Connor said getting distracted with his coloring. // "If that's supposed to make me feel better it doesn't " Kelsey said with a look at him. "And I did lie to my mom... so there's that. It's just a whole different kind of shame when your mother says she has nothing she wants to say."
  14. Alexithymiaa: "Don't be ridiculous, my mother has said that to me loads of times. They always get over it, trust me. Actually, I think other people's moms have said that to me too. It's not as big of a deal as I think you think it is. This is just the first time it's happening to you so it seems harsher. No one goes through their entire life without having their parents be disappointed in them at least once."-
  15. Covet: "Yeah but I've pretty much done everything possible that would disappoint a parent, and this is the one that sticks?" She said. "It's fine... I'm sure it will hurt less later. It's not like I can go back and take any of it away. " Kelsey said.
  16. Alexithymiaa: "I mean, it's not to say this isn't a pretty big deal. What you did isn't exactly something most people would brush off so if this is what sticks for them... I get it. But it was bound to happen eventually and at least this way it came from you and it lessened the blow than them finding out accidentally, right?"-
  17. Covet: "Yeah, I guess." Kelsey said with a sigh and finished off her tea. "Well at least nobody can say I'm perfect." She said to him. "Evan's coming back tomorrow?"
  18. Alexithymiaa: "No ones perfect. Anyone who says someone else is perfect, doesn't actually know them very well." He started before nodding his head, picking up a piece of chicken on his fork. "Yeah, thankfully. I dont know how much more of this I can handle without him."-
  19. Covet: "Well at least you aren't pulling your hair out and freaking out yet?" Kelsey said giving him a light nudge.
  20. Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, knowing he's going to swoop in and fix everything tomorrow helps with that." He started to laugh, taking a bite. "And I'm going to talk to him about a raise tomorrow, too."-
  21. Covet: "Good, I'm sure he'll appreciate it. It's a lot easier to come back into a job that's got a small bonus for it." She said to him.
  22. Alexithymiaa: "That and knowing how much I appreciate what he does for me probably helps." He looked down at his plate, picking it up to offer the last potato wedge to Connor. "I'm just a little concerned with the dudes that jumped him. From what I understand, no one was arrested."-
  23. Covet: Connor took the wedge without even so much as a thank you, shoving it into his mouth in proper boy fashion. // "Yeah I've seen there's a lot of crime going down around Portland. A lot of petty crime stuff." Kelsey said to him.
  24. Alexithymiaa: "Hey, what do you say?" He asked Connor in a more serious tone, holding his gaze on the boy for a moment before jumping back to Kelsey. "Yeah, I've been more mindful about locking doors and such. I talked to Noah briefly at the wedding and he said his bike was stolen, too."-
  25. Covet: "Thanks Dad." He said off handedly with a mouthful. // "Jeez, Yeah definitely keep the doors locked. Maybe I'll pick up some pepperspray just to be safe." Kelsey said to him.
  26. Alexithymiaa: "I think that's a really good idea. From what I understand, a lot of it is happening close to Central. We might be okay on campus." He leaned back in his chair, adjusting the beanie on his head.-
  27. Covet: "So we just stay away from central when it's not daylight." Kelsey said to him. "And hopefully the police are at least looking out for the crime."
  28. Alexithymiaa: "Knowing Portland PD?" He asked her with a raise of his brows. "I dont even know which is worse anymore, Portland PD, or the campus security. At least campus security isn't real cops. What's Portland's excuse for being that bad?"-
  29. Covet: "That is a good question that I do not have the answer to" Kelsey said with a yawn. "Maybe the PD gets the Security people after they're done at the college, or vice versa?"
  30. Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, that's unsettling to think about." He started to laugh, shaking his head. "I know where I went to high school, all the campus security were just retired cops. I don't think that works for college campuses though."-
  31. Covet: "Probably not, I know the school has a law thing though, so some of the security guards aren't even officers, just students wanting to be an officer." Kelsey said. "Which is kind of even more unsettling."
  32. Alexithymiaa: "See, it's all starting to come together now. We've got more pieces. I didnt realize they let the criminal justice students just... police the campus. That feels kind of unsafe, for the students on both ends."-
  33. Covet: "True, but really it's no different than rookie cops, patroling central." Kelsey said with a shrug. "Nobody said the job was safe.. which is funny because they're supposed to ensure safety."
  34. Alexithymiaa: "This whole thing just seems backwards to me. This is probably why so many bad things have happened on campus. No one experienced is around to handle things before they get out of control." He took his last bite of chicken before leaning back again. "Do they go around supervised or anything?"-
  35. Covet: "I'm not sure. I imagine they have at least one experienced adult with them." She said with a shrug. "But you're probably onto something there. A good amount of students don't care about their homework, let alone their fellow students, let alone ones that have some sort of authority."
  36. Alexithymiaa: "I feel like we should talk to someone about this. Not that it's going to do anything because Ive talked to admin numerous times about things and they never change." He let out a deep sigh, slipping down out of his chair.-
  37. Covet: "True, I'd say that we could talk to the news, but That doesn't sound anymore likely to make change happen." Kelsey said then looked over at Connor, "You about ready to go home kiddo?" She asked him.
  38. Alexithymiaa: "How reassuring." He grumbled, slipping off his stool to his feet and grabbing his jacket from the back of his stool to slip onto his arms. "C'mon, get your jacket on."-
  39. Covet: "Okay..." Connor said reluctantly because he new it was bedtime and kids never like bedtime. // Kelsey got up and watched the two of them making her way to the door to open it up for them so they could make their way back to the dorms.
  40. Alexithymiaa: "School tomorrow." He reminded him as if bedtime wasnt enough to make the poor kid sad. Walking out with their group to head home.-
