  1. Now that Yasuyoshi finally comes to a halt, Nathan looks up at the kitsune, eyeing him up and down- he was probably coming down from some very heavy drugs to be moving fast like that, or he naturally had a talent, but...
  2.
  3. "So you're back."
  4.
  5. "And you forgot my fire magic lessons... though, I think I already grasped the very basics anyway, I'll be working for something else."
  6. (Nathan Cruor)
  7.
  8. "Right, I did, sorry. Life has a way of keeping me bothered simply because I have a wife that I love and I have to spend my time with them, simple." Much emphasis on love, for love was important.
  9.
  10. Only second to hate.
  11.
  12. "Flames? I want you to practice the flames in a way that is rather, close to how I did it."
  13.
  14. "I want you to focus on the things you hate, and I want you to let that hate raise your flames high until it is capable of setting flames to a single tree. Then after you set fire to it, control it to a single part of it and keep it concentrated."
  15.
  16. "When you control it that way? You'll be -more- than capable of doing a lot of things with fire, from Cauterizing wounds to being able to burn a layer of skin off quickly and swiftly."
  17. (Yasuyoshi)
  18.
  19. A squint. What Nathan certainly knew is that fire magic is often driven by passion and emotion, being one of the most symbolic magics out there- he's been doing his homework regarding that sort of stuff. Though, once he's told about hatred in particular, his lips idly purse.
  20.
  21. "Does it really have to be hatred though?" A glance at Kitsune.
  22.
  23. "No offense to certain individuals, but... I'm not looking to become all gloom and doom, and remain as boorish as ever."
  24.
  25. It's a fair point when you look at how some people carry themselves.
  26.
  27. "But, ah- I wasn't looking for just basic magic anymore. I was looking to begin training for something more advanced. Figured I'd be starting early on."
  28.
  29. "In fact, I already have an idea, and I might use your help."
  30.
  31. Though, he only acknowledges him spending his time with wife. That's his own business, after all.
  32.
  33. "It's fine, don't worry."
  34. (Nathan Cruor)
  35.
  36. "Oh, no, you don't become gloom and doom about it when you utilize 'hate' for your flames. 'Hate' can come as many things as you want. For example, you can simply hate the fact that you have homework and a test on Friday." He beamed, slightly. He looked over to them as well.
  37.
  38. "When you utilize that 'hate' to be productive, you're capable of doing amazing things with it. For example, I hate the Phoenix Cult, so every time I see those people in red, I just use it to be productive with my heat and flames and simply do tricks with my flames.
  39.
  40. For example..."
  41.
  42. A circle appears around his iris as it turned red, letting his left hand come and letting a single ball of flame come across it. However, that flame separated into three, and that three turned to six as it wrapped around his figure in a perfect circle. It was like necklace.
  43.
  44. "Little tricks, but it's productive to what you want it to do. However, it's an option, a strong option.
  45.
  46. Just don't be edgy..."
  47. (Yasuyoshi)
  48.
  49. So long as he wouldn't be drifting down that path, he should be fine.
  50.
  51. It's one thing to simply utilize whatever you have at your disposal, and it's completely another to allow such things to swallow you- based on what he's seen certain people become, he never really intended to let it overwhelm him. That'd ruin many things, actually.
  52.
  53. "Hm."
  54.
  55. Though, at the display given? He clearly enjoys observation of how fire magic could be cast, how it spirals in bizarre, myriad forms and is shaped into geometric figures by Yasuyoshi. Odd how it could be controlled like that - but he takes it as a note.
  56.
  57. "Makes sense, I suppose. And no, I'm definitely not looking to become edgy. Had few unfortunate experiences with that folk already."
  58.
  59. A pause. Before they get any further, he had another question.
  60.
  61. "Have you ever had experience combining flames with something? Not ordinary magic, like that fused with holy or occult energies... but, uh, different thing entirely."
  62.
  63. "Turning it something else, you know?"
  64. (Nathan Cruor)
  65.
  66. "Combinig flames are possible, I never did it. I don't feel like protecting, that takes effort. I don't feel learning from demons, they're boring. The best fire, is pure fire."
  67.
  68. That was his opinion, anyway. Don't listen to him, but there was something that he had to get across. "My flames burn more than an occultist, because they're blessed by the great Jiuweihu, so you do you, in the end."
  69.
  70. That was when he leaned in, of course. Eyes going wide as he seemed to lean in closer.
  71.
  72. "What is your idea of combination? You're going to be a filthy occultist?"
  73. (Yasuyoshi)
  74.
  75. Upon the question asked, he shook his head quickly.
  76.
  77. He never really enjoyed the idea of being either Occultist or Holy magi, really, no matter how much he looked at it. If anything, he was thinking of entirely something else- something original, to a degree. Or at least so he believed.
  78.
  79. "No, no. I don't want to be Occultist."
  80.
  81. "You see, the other magic I was going to study would be cosmic. Considering its known for its raw mana flow and power..." He trails off for a moment, then speaks further.
  82.
  83. "I was thinking of infusing my fire with stardust. Rather than letting this excess of mana empower me over time, I would let it pour into excess of flames immediately."
  84.
  85. "Something like... a huge spark, one that burns hotter than anything else."
  86.
  87. And with the strength of the stars, too.
  88. (Nathan Cruor)
  89.
  90. "That's different...
  91.
  92. I like that. DO that, your final exam is finally mixing the two together. Your mother is a cosmic mage, I guess you learned fire down the line on your volition." He was amused.
  93.
  94. "My wife, she used occult magic, sometimes she goes insane so I have to put her in a headlock and tell her to calm down. That's probably the only occultist I will accept as anything above a 'acquaintice.'
  95.
  96. Other wise? Occult people who utilize those flames are the WORST because they comebine their destructive capabilities and notions and make it magnify, it's annoying."
  97.
  98. Stardust with flames, making them burn hotter.
  99.
  100. "Is that what you want, then?"
  101. (Yasuyoshi)
  102.
  103. The purpose was to make him bear the flames stronger than any other.
  104.
  105. So much so that the reality around him would seemingly seethe with warmth and threaten to be set ablaze any moment- of course, it's just his own approach to this practice, but he imagined that so long as he could master the infusion with stardust, then it should be fine.
  106.
  107. "Pretty much."
  108.
  109. "I feel as if I should get my fire magic better first, before I actually try and infuse flames with stardust, but... one step at a time, right?"
  110.
  111. No city was built in a single day. Just like the effort over time, this would require him to be considerate and careful in his approach- and thoughtful, too. You can't make it far without a plan.
  112.
  113. "Yes. By infusing stardust in fire, it'll be quite... explosive, and a lot more dangerous. I will redirect every single ounce of mana that comes from the stars - rather than letting it restore me, I'll have it feed my flames."
  114.
  115. "And feed them endlessly, resulting in powerful fire."
  116.
  117. It didn't sound bad in theory. At least to him.
  118. (Nathan Cruor)
