Darkened Skies

Welcome to Darkened Skies, a Steampunk-esque room, involving elements of the Supernatural, and the Occult.

The setting itself takes place within our own world, with two major deviations in history. The first, was during the Napoleonic Wars. As he was expanding his territories, French engineers were innovating new technologies that they would hope would steamroll the rest of the war. However, this only caused an arms race between the counties involved in the war, and soon after the war had ended in France's defeat, it seemed this technology was here to stay, and be improved upon.

However, the second event that played a large part of the deviation was the Anglo-Persians Wars. While the Russians were supplying munitions and such to the Persians in the war against the British Empire, they also sent a division of troops as well. These troops were a number of individuals who were part of an organization within Russia, who planned to use and exploit Supernatural and Occult phenomena. While the British Empire had managed to wrangle victory in this war, it seemed now that every country was interested in expanding their knowledge of the otherworldly, due to the success of this Russian organization.

Great Britain's answer to this, was their own organization, helmed by a veteran officer of that war, Commander Henry Lyons. Each member is handpicked by the Commander, for a number of factors, but no one agent is more important than the next. With an airship prepared, the newly founded Order of the Scythe embarks to ensure that supernatural and occult goingson are catalogued for further investigation, and suppressed or neutralized if the threat requires so.

While the Order's main purpose itself is to ensure that the Supernatural doesn't get out of hand, Commander Lyons is not opposed to fighting fire with fire, so to speak. Characters interested in join are for the most part, free to bring in any cultist, supernatural being, soldier, etc into the Order, so long as logic and reason can be explained for why they would be part of the organization. Currently, at this moment, I am not looking for anyone opposing the Order to join. This is not to say that I am not interested in such, but, until a more concrete plot-line can be established, I am currently only looking for members to join the Order itself. Please PM or mail Captain Lyons for any questions/concerns/etc.

As for any rules, standard room rules apply. I will not tolerate spam, lurkers who aren't interested in joining, and anything smutty will be moved into PM's.
