  3. Samsung Experience 9.0 Upgrade

  5. The Samsung Experience 9.0 Beta has been released, with new features provided by Samsung and Android Oreo and various improvements based on customer feedback.

  7. Here's a list of what's new. As the beta continues, updates will add and improve features.

  9. We'll also fix the inevitable errors that are part of test versions. We recommend that you back up your important data to keep it safe from any unexpected errors from the Beta or during upgrades.

  11. Some apps have to be updated individually before you can update your OS. If these apps aren't updated first, they might not work correctly with the new OS. These apps include Samsung Pay, Samsung Internet, Samsung Notes, Email, and others.

  13. Downloaded themed content may not be installed properly in the Beta version, and service provider apps (applicable to Korean-market devices) may not function. You'll be able to use the content after the official release of Samsung Experience 9.0.

  15. Quick Panel
  16. - Manage notifications for each app with notification categories (supported apps only).
  17. - Icons will be shown at the bottom of the notification panel for notifications that aren't currently visible.

  19. Home Screen
  20. - Touch and hold an app to display shortcuts to common or recommended tasks within the app (supported apps only).
  21. - Notification badges on app icons and in the notification panel are synced. Clear a notification in one location, and it will show as cleared in the other location.

  23. Samsung Keyboard
  24. - The Samsung keyboard toolbar gives quick access to useful functions.
  25. - GIF keyboard lets you send GIFs using Samsung keyboard.
  26. - More high-contrast keyboards are available.

  29. - Background services are limited to improve performance and battery life.
  30. - Currently running apps will always be shown in the notification panel.

  32. Edge screen
  33. - Improved font size, color, and other settings for better Edge panel visibility.
  34. - Touch and hold the Edge panel to change its position.
  35. - Added 3 more Edge lighting effects and color customization for apps.

  37. Samsung Cloud
  38. - View and manage photos and notes stored only in Samsung Cloud.
  39. - Store any type of file in Samsung Cloud Drive.
  40. - Select specific items to delete or restore from backup data.
  41. - View the size of all your backups and see how many items they contain. Samsung Dual Messenger
  42. - Install a second copy of a messaging app so you can use two accounts at the same time. For apps that verify accounts using phone numbers, you'll need a different phone number for each account.
  43. - Touch and hold a messaging app on the Home or Apps screen to install the second account or go to Settings —> Advanced features —> Dual Messenger.

  45. Find My Mobile
  46. - Back up Secure Folder remotely in Samsung Cloud when your phone is lost.

  56. - Flag Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync emails in Email.
  57. - Samsung Pay has improved speed and security.
  58. - A sticky notification tracks your steps in Samsung Health.
  59. - Clock offers Landscape mode and timer sound options.
  60. - Tap the digital clock widget to go to Clock directly.
  61. - Manage usernames and passwords in third-party apps using Samsung Pass.
