Puzzle Master Edition

Hey guys, how’s it goin?

The Tetris Attack tournament has reached its conclusion and, as a result, I now reign supreme. FFR got a game off me (barely) to show his prowess, but every run I had in the entire tournament was less than 10 minutes. No one else was able to do that. That kind of performance is unreal. I just wish that Yoschimidtsu could have been around for the entire thing. Maybe we can resolve the question of who’s a steadier hand with some stakes behind it some other time. I would LIKE to organize the next Pokemon Puzzle League tournament in a few months so that we can have both a PPL tournament and a TA tournament every year, but whether I am ABLE to do that is another story entirely. We shall see. Thanks again to all of the participants for putting on a good show all tournament long!

Since the tournament is now over, I will shift my focus back to what I was doing before the tournament was announced. I will resume my quest to recapture the Pokemon Puzzle Challenge Intense mode record this week. On the side, though, I will likely attempt to route Tetris Attack V-Hard so that I feel like I’m accomplishing something. I’m not prepared to leave the game alone just yet.

I also started my playthrough of The Grinch for the Game Boy Color for a donation incentive. I had seen some of the PlayStation version previously so I was expecting the worst. It’s actually a fun arcade-like action game where you collect all of the presents in each level while avoiding detection by the residents of Whoville. No jank platforming shenanigans to be had here. There are still perspective issues at times, but it looks very promising as a speedrun. Also, Max is an alpha dog. Never forget. I accidentally spoiled myself looking for a proper description of this version in terms of how many levels there are. I’ve actually made it to the final set of levels (I think) so perhaps the next stream of it next weekend will be the last.

In other gaming news, I am in the process of gathering the necessary tools to stream from my “new” NES… when I can power it on. It’s strange because I have one of those third-party AC adapters that’s supposed to work for NES/SNES/Genesis and a few other things (the NES came with the exact same adapter) and the adapter works for the SNES, but the NES refuses to turn on with it. I will have to wait for my original adapter to come in the mail this week to try it out.

In real life news, I did find a way around my oversized bed issue. I actually had enough room to turn the entire bed sideways compared to its original orientation. Now I have more room at this desk than ever before! I was able to put my cameras back to where I had them before, too. Incoming Wii Fit streams! (Or not.)
