BACKGROUND : When her parents met, her mother was two months pregnant, however, that didn’t stop them from falling for each other and marrying six months later. Heejin was born a month after their marriage and a year and a half later her sister, Yoomi, was born. Growing up wasn’t very exciting, she always lived in her sister’s shadows. Her mother didn’t care for Heejin and basically blocked her out of the family for most of her life because just looking at Heejin’s face was a reminder of her past. Her step-dad was fine, he let her live but just like her mother, his main priority was always Yoomi. She eventually distanced herself from them, stopped trying to impress them or make her mother love her. She minded her own business, and hoped they did the same. By now she doesn’t care anymore about them, except for maybe Yoomi. The only reason she keeps seeing them every day is because they live under the same roof, but Heejin prefers to eat by herself while they eat together like a happy little family. One day she casually stumbled upon Kang Towers when they needed a new chef, and she needed a job.  She was old enough to get one and she’s been wanting to have her own house since she was fifteen, so she decided to give it a go. Admittedly, she was rejected. Multiple times. But Heejin really, really wanted the money they had to offer and after many rejections, they gave her a chance (she thought they’d reject her without even trying her food), and she finally got the job. So far so good.

PERSONALITY : Heejin is someone who doesn’t speak unnecessarily or unless being talked to first. She has the liberty and ability to speak her mind and share her viewpoints, but usually she doesn’t unless asked to, simply because being straightforward is her natural inclination, which logically leads to an opinion that won’t be openly welcomed or pleasant to hear. She has feelings, that she does, but even if she is a very sensible person that knows and feels lots of emotions, she fails to express them in a way that doesn’t sound harsh or aggressive. That’s why she prefers to stay in silence and unnoticed. She does not mind the little attention she gets, on the contrary, being invisible to others makes her feel free. Nobody can hurt her, and she can hurt nobody. She’s clever, cunning, perceptive; she always knows when trouble’s coming. Her mouth is shut but her eyes aren’t, and they’re always aware of her environment. While the power of words is brutal, she gets far more knowledge by just observing than by speaking. She only helps and gives her allegiance to those who ought to have it.  She has a strong mentality, but little patience. She’s charming in a unique way; a way that some people can’t comprehend nor appreciate, but charming nevertheless. HIS PERSONALITY : He’s a laid back person, down-to-earth, kind and a humorous guy. Sometimes a little too careless and clumsy. A lot of people tend to think that he's never serious because he likes to get rid of tension and awkwardness with jokes, but he knows how to take a step back when he feels like there really is no room for laughing. Can come off as a little bit naive or innocent, but he's just kind, respectful and conservative.

HOW YOU ACT AROUND HIM : B: Heejin liked her job primarily because she didn’t have to interact much with people, and now she has to be stuck with a newbie and train him. Needless to say that she was not thrilled, at all. She kept him at arm’s length and never really talked to him, except for when necessary.  M: Then she realized he might actually not be that bad… He was nice and he respected her (for the most part, his jokes were not appreciated all the time), and he was a little bit funny.... Not that she would let him know that, she knew him enough to know that he would NOT let her be if she told him that. E: It took her a long time to realize and accept her feelings. Heejin, who was never really loved that much at home, who was never enough for her mother despite all her efforts, whose sister was always better without trying… Heejin knew what it was like to give your all and get nothing in return, she wasn’t ready -and would never be- to go through that again. She was scared of her own feelings what they would mean, but at the end, she couldn’t help them. She was used to him, she liked him and his lame jokes, his annoyingly good manners and his smile, Oh boy.

HOW HE ACTS AROUND YOU : B: He actually enjoyed being around her, even though she was quiet. She seemed interesting, albeit really kept to herself, and he was rather curious about why she was so reserved. M: Then he got to know her sharp tongue, and understood that she’s just like a Jack-in-the-box She’s got that attitude hidden, but once you provoke her, she lets go. Not that he minded, though, it was quite funny and he was always wanting to see what kind of comeback/remarks she could come up with. Soon enough, he found himself like her company and personality more than he should, but he knew there was no use in trying to fight his feelings so, instead, he tried to get closer to her. E: At the end nothing changed much after they got together, he kept being himself (i.e., annoying yet kind and funny, it seemed to work, for he caught her smiling discreetly more than once)

RELATIONSHIP TRIVIA :
     » You know when people are so bad at something that they actually think they’re good? Well, he’s like that. He is good at cooking, but his skills are veyr, very limited.
     » Despite everything, Heejin is actually nice; so once he got through her rough exterior, Heejin was the one making jokes sometimes, and was smiling more often.
     » Basically everyone expected ‘them’ to happen.
     » Heejin actually takes her job seriously because it’s her only source of income, so she gave him super spicy ramen for telling her -albeit jokingly- that her food wasn’t that good.
     » That spicy ramen gave him diarrhea for 2 days and she, still not forgiving, hid the toilet paper (I swear I don’t have a fetish or anything with toilet paper lmao).
     » He challenged her to eat 3 burger in 15 mins (since eating is something they’re both good at) and if she failed, she had to write his name on her forearm for a week. She failed.

SUGGESTED SCENES :
     » He tried to help her at her job and she refused, but he eventually added ingredients to the food when she was not looking and her dish ended up being tragik. Guess who got complaints for the first time ever, and who got a mad woman yelling at me for ruining the recipe.
     » Heejin kind of just snapping at one of the girls when they were being too intrusive or annoying.  Later she’s slightly regretting it. While the girl was indeed annoying her, Heejin actually didn’t mind her company that much (Maybe midsummer night’s dream?).
     » Heejin is not that bad with customers, but she is indeed awkward and doesn’t actually know how to handle them for too long, so maybe a scene where she’s basically fckng up and Yuta kind of just saves her a$$.
     » While she’s a good cook and makes delicious food, she’s not a professional and doesn’t know how to make every single dish in the world, so one day they ask her to make something challenging, something she’s never done before and well, she failed lmao. Maybe it could be a dish off the menu, like a super important customer with an expensive taste that wouldn’t take no for an answer.
     » Again me and cheesy scenes, but you know, some cute scene in which she teaches him how to cook and he just starts a food fight.
