The cliff is not shy of handholds, but there are no ropes conveniently places for you. Small trees and rocks jut out from the side, and you could grab those, or try to toss a rope up to a ledge.

Nick:
"Hey, lady, you still gotta climb this thing too. You think your crutches are gonna help?"
Thrice:
There are also rocks sticking out of the falls, but...really, dude? You wanna risk climbing the falls?

The Scyther isn't strong enough to lift Nick much more than a foot off the ground, and he slips off the scythes. He's almost stabbed by the pointy bit(that's the part you stab with) as he falls off

"Aw drat, so close." Eliza walks over to Nick and inspects the package boy's underarms.

It is in fact rather steep. But so are trees, and people climb htose all the time

The handhold doesn't budge, it's a rock jutting out of the wall. Pretty sturdy things, rocks. And this one's not even loose! Gotta get higher up for that.

"Eliza, just come down. Let me down it first so I can see if it's even possible for you, okay?"
Thrice:
The handholds don't seem to have any pattern, or maybe they do? It doesn't look like an intentional one. Just a coincidence of nature. They don't seem to have been put here by hand, if that's what you're thinking.

Ivan:
"I'll just throw down the rope."
Ivan: (( can't type ))

"It's five stories! That's a hell of a way to fall... Hold on, let me set something up. Did you bring Tidus with you?"

"Tch, fine. That's probably a better idea. It feels sturdy enough at this level. Can't say that about what might lie above it." She pushes off the wall and falls (hopefully being caught).
Eliza: (( though to be fair she wasn't that high off to begin with ))

"Yeah, what's he good for? Not like he can fly."

Nick:
"We can dig some of this out, make a pool, or a pile of dirt to fall in if we do screw up."

"It'd take days for him to make a tunnel, but..."

"If you intend to spend -days- digging under it then I might actually leave you behind."

Nick presses his ear against the wall of the cliff and knocks. 9 Perception, trying to hear if it's hollowed out at all

"Our destination is at the top of this cliff, isn't it? Going around it or under it's not going to do any good anyway, right?"

It'd have to be pretty thin rock to tell a difference. What is this, the legend of zelda? You can't really hear it over the sound of the falls, anyway.

"Fuck it, I'm just going for it. This is getting silly at this point. Enya, Baraka, back me up in case anything happens."

Nick wanders over to the waterfall, checking behind it halfway as a joke

"I can probably bring you back to life if you like crack your skull in." She hands the tank her Utility rope for more ropes.

And afterwards, checking the pool.
Ivan: (( yes I am trying to do whole climb, not grab one fucking handhold. ))

He calls Fefe over from helping to make the smol pool by their climbing efforts

You whisper to Agi: Can't see much with the whitewater rapids, but behind the falls looks like pretty solid rock. Water's crashing over it, at least. The pool of water below is similarly difficult to see through, and fraught with rocks as well. There is a spot without any such rock spires, however, on the right side of the falls.
Thrice:
Ivan gets about a fourth of the way up the wall, some 12 or so feet, before he has to pull himself up onto a ledge and catch his breath. The ledge is...sturdy-ish, but it's made primarily of dirt, not rock, and won't hold for long. There...seem to be roots growing out of it, too.

"You okay up there?" she hollers from the ground level.
Thrice:
NOt actively so, no. But they do writhe occasionally.
Nick whispers: Can I head over closer to it to get a better look?

He huffs and puffs. "Not sure if I can do this, guys." He notices the plant growing out of the side of the wall. After taking a break to catch his breath, he orders his Dusclops to see what it is. "Enya, tell me if there's a Pokemon or something on the other side of the wall..."

All around the cliffside is just more cliff my man. There are areas that are more greenery than rock, but they've still got their fair share of dirt - just a lot of moss and tree roots, as well.

They might be easier for certain people or Pokemon to climb, but moss can be slippery..
Chloe whispers: I'll try one thing before sending Fefe under. Nick instructs Chloe to use Air Cutter in an attempt to scatter the water so he can see through in the brief moment

You whisper to Agi: The thrashing rapids are cut in twain, parted like the red sea! Hopefully this sea doesn't turn red any time soon. Nick can see something when the water splits, something shiny and unnatural, stuck on the wall beside the falls.

Eliza:
Eliza jumps as the sound startles her, "The fuck?" She runs on back toward Ivan's side of the cliff.
Thrice:
The instant Ivan takes his leg off his resting area, something wraps itself around his foot and tugs at him, trying to drag him down!

Nick:
"Doesn't look like what I was hoping for, but maybe... Alright, Irwin, go yank that out for me!"

Nick whispers: Nick points to the area and gives Irwin instructions to swim as far down as he can before swimming up to check on the object

Nick eventually reaches the end of the tunnel - losing a Tick of HP and gaining another Injury due to nearly drowning. He coughs up water as he surfaces, and finds himself facing a huge, narrow rock staircase, with green light shining through the top

Going around it is certainly possible, but the rope wouldn't be able to help you much there

The colors of Giratina, as it turns out. A purple-haired boy stands in front of a blondie, questioning her, "Now come on! You're not the one I'm lookin' for! Tell me where that chick in the hoodie is, I know she's gotta be around here somewhere! I'm not gonna hurt you, promise!" The blondie, who you recognize, panics and falls down, then scrambles away. "A-agh! Get away!" Why she's so afraid is clear - around the boy are six phantasmal, clawed arms, moving independently of one another. The blonde girl doesn't have any of it, and launches not one, but three flares into the sky. This confuses the shit outta the boy, but after a minute, the purpose becomes clear. Two other figures phase in, one holding onto the other.
Chloe has received initiative.

The entei's shadow fades away, and is replaced by a familiar figure!
