General

Please contact one of the staff managers should you have any staff related issues or requests such as problems with another staff member or wanting to stepdown.



Information:

Do not use the wrong punishment types. This includes banning for hacks when there was not enough evidence.
Do not promote other servers in-game our outside of the game to DC players.
Do not disrespect players or other staff members in any way.
Do not defame players or other staff members in any way.
Be mature at all times.
You are an example for other players, act that way.
Stay out of flame wars. If you do end up in one, stay neutral.
Work together with other staff members. If you've got a problem with another staff, solve it.
Do not give anyone else access to your account.
No using AdminBan under ANY circumstances unless permission has been given by an admin.
If you decide to stop stepdown you will have to wait 2 weeks and reapply to have a chance at getting your rank back. This applies to everybody, no matter who you are.
Do not leak anything sensitive said in staff chat.
Do not punish other staff members.
Do not change the title or profile picture of staff chats.
Do not create unofficial seperate staff chats.
Do not take part in unofficial staff chats.
You must know the staff guide. Almost everything is answered on here.
No being dutch. If we find out you are dutch you will be sent to our BKL.
When in doubt, allahu akbar.


Requirements:

Check at least 1-2 ban appeals a day.
Be online for at least 30 hours/month (1 hour avg./day)
Not following these set of rules/requirements will result in a warning or instant demotion. You will only be warned twice. The third time will be a demotion. Warnings expire after 6 months. Depending on the situation and severity, breaking these rules can lead to a server or hub ban. This applies to everybody, no matter what rank you are or how long you've been staff, everyone will receive the same punishments.


Reminder:

As a staff member, you will be given much higher punishments (punishment severity, NOT punished multiple times) than regular players should you break any rules. This even applies after you step down. If you do not agree with how DC is run, whether it's rules related or how staff is managed, then deny your promotion because should you defame or damage DC in any way, you'll be permanently removed from the server. You are a staff member and people look up to you. If you do not agree to this or any other staff rules, deny your promotion.





Cooperation


Being able to cooperate with other staff members is one of the most vital requirements to be eligible for staff. Should you have any problems with other staff members, whether it's when you first get promoted or along the way of being staff, work together and solve them. You do not have to be best friends with every person that is staff but you should not have any hate or be biased towards another staff member. If you are not able to cooperate with all staff members, you will be warned and/or demoted on spot or in the future.
Skype staff chats


There are several Skype staff chats that you will be added to upon promotion. You do not have to stay in these chats. However, if we need to announce something important, which will usually be by forking a staff chat or putting it in the title of it, and you do not see it because you are not in the chat, you will be responsible for missing it and thus may receive warnings or even a demotion. If the chat notifications are bothering you, you can use the command /alertsoff to turn them off. Do not create or take part in unofficial seperate staff chats. To know if a staff chat is official, use the command /get creator and the creator and admins of the chat should only be DesiredCraft admins.





Contacting upper staff


It is very likely that the upper part of staff may not respond to your private messages or reports/requests in staff chats. This is not because they dislike you or because you aren't important. DesiredCraft is a big server and has a big staff team thus upper staff has a lot of things to do and is not able to deal with all of the messages from staff. Should you need to message or report something to higher staff, please contact a staff member that is one level above you.



Staff ladder:
Moderator > Global Mod > Developer/Admin > Owner


Example:
If you are a Moderator and want to report a bug to the Owner, contact a Global Mod. They will forward it to a Dev/Admin who will forward it to the Owner. If the Global Mod or Dev/Admin can fix the bug themself, they will do it instead of trying to forward it to the Owner.
Punishments


FilterBypass:

Bypassing any sort of chat filter such as: caps filter, word filter, etc.


WeakSpam:

Sending too many messages in a short period of time, but stopping afterwards.


HardSpam:

Sending too many messages in a short period of time with no intention to stop.


Improperness:

Anything that is not appropriate such as porn links.


Disrespecting:

Anything that is meant to disrespect another player.
Ignoring the "staff has final word" rule after being warned or made aware of it.


Harassing:

Any repeated attacks towards someone.
Any constant attempts to annoy, bother, disrespect, or create unpleasant or hostile situations for someone.


Impersonating:

Any sort of attempt to impersonate the system, staff, or other players. DOES NOT INCLUDE NAME CHANGES!

ServerDisrespect:

Anything that is meant to disrespect the server.
Does not include good and mature feedback aka constructive criticism.


ChestShopScamming:

Any sort of scam that involves ChestShops.


RegionScamming:

Any sort of scam that involves selling/buying/renting regions.


Phishing:

Any sort of attempt to gain access to someone elses account(s), private/personal information, financial information, or IP.


Advertising:

Any sort of advertisement for another Minecraft server in public chat or on signs.


PrivateAdvertising:

Any sort of advertisement for another Minecraft server in a private message.


ServerMentioning:

Any sort of mentioning of other Minecraft servers.


VIPAbuse:

Breaking any of the VIP rules set for that server.
Exploiting:

Abusing/taking advantage of any sort of unattended bug on the server.
Bypassing bans or mutes in any way.


DDoSThreat:

Any clearly made DDoS threat against the server or another player.
Any clearly made attempts to DDoS the server or another player, this includes attempting to get or share someone elses IP.


AltAccount:

Used for alternate accounts of banned or muted players.
Does not apply for chargeback bans.


Hacks:

Admitting to using a specific illegal hack (includes just having them installed even if they aren't using them).
Any of the following hacks:
Flying
Waterwalking
Speed hacks
Bow hacks
Hitting while consuming an item
No slowdown
Very obvious anti knockback
Sneak hacks (make sure it's not /sneak)
Derp hacks
Phase
Auto fishers
Auto clicking (includes macros, taping down your mouse, or anything that will auto click for you) in PvP
You are only allowed to request a player to screenshare or ban for killaura/forcefield or bhopping if you are a Global Mod or on the following list:

Do not use unless you are 100% sure the player was using hacks.


IllegalTrading:

Any sort of attempt to sell or advertise products, services, Minecraft accounts, or non DesiredCraft related entities. The ONLY exception is the selling of unpurchased DesiredCraft shop products.

AdminBan:

Do not use unless permission to do so has been granted by an admin.
Punishment severities


There are 3 levels of severities; minor, normal, and major. As the names say, minor should be used for minor offenses, normal for normal offenses, and major for major offenses. What you consider minor, normal, and major is completely up to you, HOWEVER, if we constantly see you using a higher/lower severity than what we would find okay, we will private message you and talk to you about it so we can hear your reasoning behind it. If we don't agree with you, we will ask you to change. Should your behavior not change, you will be warned or even demoted. This does not mean that you should be afraid to give too severe punishments as this also applies to not being harsh enough. If you have a good reason for the severity that you are giving, then you have nothing to worry about as we will talk to you before taking any action.
Jail guide


Information:

Rules for VIP custom prefixes can be found at www.desiredcraft.net/rules.
The /clearchat command should only be used to make an important announcement in chat get noticed.
You are allowed to scam.
Always jail players for 5 minutes, no more, no less.
You are not allowed to kill level [I] players in the jail unless they’ve been jailed for more than 3 times.
You are not allowed to jump into the jail and attack jailed players. Only shoot them with your bow from the guard area.
Give players a chance to read the signs at the jail before shooting at them.
You can become corrupt and set your bribe price with /guard [price].
You can only request contraband items if you’ve been on duty (if you’re wearing guard armor, that means you’re on duty) for at least 2 minutes.
You cannot request contraband items because you’ve seen them with one a few minutes ago.
You cannot request contraband items just because you think they have one.
A jailed player using /god or /fly is abusing his VIP perks. Give him a chance to turn them off. If they don’t end up doing anything, punish them with /punish [player] VIPAbuse.
Do not use guard items during purges.
