  2. Student voice: Under the blood-red moon, you whispered gentle seduction to me through the window pane.
  3. Student voice: Whispers of the eternity we would spend together.
  4. Student voice: I was bewitched. I wanted to be like you, I wanted to stay by your side forever.
  5. Student voice: I was willing to give you my everything.
  6. Student voice: I never imagined the tragedy that was awaiting me...
  7. Student voice: That with your betrayal, our eternity would be shattered...
  8. Student voice: You took everything from me, and then you cast me aside as I slept. Did you think you could continue to live happily after that?
  9. Student voice: And then you died, leaving behind one last tiny sliver of hope. Even death was too good for you.
  10. Student voice: And so I will destroy that final hope of yours. I will tear apart everything you left behind and take back what I'm owed.
  11. Student voice: This is how I repay you for that cheap love you once gave me.
  12. CHAPTER: CHARACTER STORY
  13.
  14. Hatred Blooms Red
  15. Location: Taranor, Pale Sunset Plains
  16. Melissa: After awakening from my long slumber, I wandered from place to place gathering information. And I finally managed to track him down...
  17. Melissa: I didn't think he'd be sent so far away. It took forever to get here.
  18. Melissa: But what is this place? There's no sign of anyone living here at all, just meadows. Where is the village?
  19. Melissa: Though I guess I should be thankful there are no Humans around. My emergency supplies are running low.
  20. Melissa: Shall I get started on a little hunting, then?
  21. From: sb_c1096_001_3.json.txt
  22. Melissa: Urgh! What are those ugly things!? I feel disgusting just looking at them! They must taste awful!
  23. Melissa: Don't they have any real game around here?
  24. Melissa: Hmph, I was once a noble lady, how did I end up roaming around in the mud struggling to find something to eat?
  25. Melissa: I never imagined I'd fall so far.
  26. Student voice: ...nothing here...
  27. Student voice: Don't think...right place...
  28. Melissa: ...! Voices!
  29. Melissa: Humans! Men!
  30. Melissa: This is my chance! I should get a closer look at them before charging in, just in case.
  31. Honest Taranor Soldier: I definitely heard a voice somewhere over here.
  32. Taranor Soldier: We've searched all over, twice. Nothing. It's been a long time since anyone ever set foot here.
  33. Taranor Soldier: I don't think it's them. Probably just some animal. Or you were imagining it all to begin with.
  34. Honest Taranor Soldier: I swear, I heard it. With my own two ears.
  35. Taranor Soldier: Let's just go back. There's no sign of any tracks at all, let alone some kind of hideout.
  36. Honest Taranor Soldier: *sighing* Where could they be? I guess if anyone would be good at hiding, it would be assassins.
  37. Melissa: Armor? They must be soldiers. They seem to know the area well.
  38. Melissa: Fantastic. I'll have to tweak my plan a little.
  39. Melissa: H-Help me!
  40. Taranor Soldier: Whoa! You hear that!?
  41. Honest Taranor Soldier: Look, over there! A girl!
  42. Taranor Soldier: What are you doing here? Are you hurt?
  43. Melissa: Please help me. I got lost, and all these scary monsters...
  44. Melissa: I haven't even been able to find anything to eat... I feel...dizzy...
  45. Honest Taranor Soldier: Look how pale she is, I really think she might collapse.
  46. Taranor Soldier: We should take her back to the village. Don't worry, we'll help you.
  47. Melissa: Thank you so much. You're lifesavers.
  48. From: sb_c1096_001_4.json.txt
  49. Taranor Soldier: Are you feeling better?
  50. Melissa: I am. Thanks to you, I don't feel so hungry anymore.
  51. Melissa: A single piece of bread!? You may as well have given me nothing at all!
  52. Honest Taranor Soldier: But what were you doing out there? Not many people come here because of all the monsters.
  53. Melissa: Oh... Well, actually I'm not from here, so I don't know much about this area.
  54. Taranor Soldier: You're not from Taranor? Then where?
  55. Melissa: Erasia.
  56. Honest Taranor Soldier: Erasia? Isn't that really far from Ritania? It's true that Taranor is getting a lot more visitors lately...
  57. Taranor Soldier: But you're the first I've seen to come from so far away. What brings you here?
  58. Melissa: There's someone I'm trying to find.
  59. Taranor Soldier: Oh?
  60. Melissa: Over a decade ago, my entire family was chased from our homes and murdered. During that time, a newborn baby was sent out to sea in an attempt to save it.
  61. Melissa: I was the only one who managed to survive, and after a while I heard about a boy far away who sounded a lot like that baby.
  62. Melissa: I thought it could be the same person, so I got on a boat and came all the way here...
  63. Honest Taranor Soldier: That's so sad. But if they were still a baby back then, it will be hard to recognize them now.
  64. Taranor Soldier: We'd love to help you. But thanks to the war, there's no shortage of orphans running around...
  65. Melissa: I know... I was stupid to think I could find him...
  66. Honest Taranor Soldier: But now that I think about it, there is that one kid. Nobody knows his name or where he's from.
  67. Taranor Soldier: Really?
  68. Honest Taranor Soldier: Remember? The rumor about the bloodstained boy in the woods.
  69. Taranor Soldier: That's right!
  70. Melissa: Bloodstained?
  71. Melissa: Could you tell me more?
  72. Honest Taranor Soldier: There have always been plenty of rumors about those woods since they're so secluded and dangerous. Recently, people started talking about a young boy who can be seen wandering around them.
  73. Honest Taranor Soldier: Some of the crazier rumors say he even hunts and eats Humans.
  74. Taranor Soldier: The army looked all over trying to find him but had no luck. Since then, the rumors started dying down.
  75. Taranor Soldier: Nobody knows what happened to the boy after that.
  76. Melissa: I see...
  77. Melissa: Hunting and eating Humans? It must be him.
  78. Melissa: Would you mind taking me to the woods he was seen in?
  79. Honest Taranor Soldier: If you want... But do you really intend to try looking for him?
  80. Taranor Soldier: Even without the rumors, the path is hard to walk and could be very dangerous.
  81. Melissa: But he's just a boy. Maybe the rumors are wrong. Like you said, nobody knows anything about him...
  82. Melissa: Please?
  83. Taranor Soldier: Fine, we'll show you.
  84. From: sb_c1096_001_6.json.txt
  85. Taranor Soldier: This is the only path from here on. If you keep following it straight, you'll reach the woods.
  86. Melissa: Thank you so much for all your help. If it wasn't for you, I would have starved to death all alone.
  87. Honest Taranor Soldier: It was nothing. I hope you find the boy you're looking for soon.
  88. Taranor Soldier: We still have some scouting left to do, so we can only take you this far.
  89. Melissa: But...would you mind if I asked one last favor?
  90. Honest Taranor Soldier: Just name it.
  91. Melissa: I was starving for so long, I'm not sure if I'll even have the strength to get back to the village.
  92. Melissa: So...would you mind giving me a little more food?
  93. Honest Taranor Soldier: No problem.
  94. Taranor Soldier: It can't be easy for you to find food in such an unfamiliar place. I'll give you the rest of our leftovers.
  95. Melissa: Really?
  96. Taranor Soldier: Of course, we'll have no trouble finding some more for ourselves later.
  97. Honest Taranor Soldier: Now, where did I put that last piece of bread...?
  98. Melissa: I don't know how to thank you for all the help you've given me. Thanks to you I'll be able to eat well today.
  99. Melissa: But...to tell you the truth, I don't really like bread all that much.
  100. Honest Taranor Soldier: Oh, but bread's all we have...
  101. Melissa: That's not true. You have something even more delicious.
  102. Honest Taranor Soldier: Huh?
  103. Melissa: It's a shame you have to die here, but I'll never forget your kindness.
  104. Melissa: I'll pay you back by making sure I don't waste a drop!
  105. Honest Taranor Soldier: What are you tal--arghhh!
  106. Taranor Soldier: H-Hey! What do you think you're...!
  107. From: sb_c1096_002_1.json.txt
  108. Location: Taranor, Gentle Breeze Woods
  109. Melissa: I've definitely had better, but I've tasted a lot worse, too. That was lucky, I was so sure I was going to starve to death out here.
  110. Melissa: I was even able to restock my emergency supply. It would have been nice to have a little more, but it's better than nothing.
  111. Melissa: So...a mysterious bloodstained boy who hunts living things...
  112. Melissa: Humans' rumors are always being stretched and twisted, but it's worth looking into.
  113. Melissa: It certainly does sound like him.
  114. Melissa: Are these the woods they were talking about? Is he even still here?
  115. Melissa: I hope he's the boy I'm looking for.
  116. Melissa: Ah! Ouch!
  117. Melissa: Oh no! My legs! My beautiful, beautiful legs! They're cut!
  118. Melissa: Urgh, what did I trip on? Dammit!
  119. Melissa: Huh... That's...
  120. Melissa: Oh, phew, it's only a dead body. It's all wrinkled up and ugly looking...
  121. Melissa: Wait a second, this scent...!
  122. Melissa: Ha, I knew it. There are bite marks here. And by the looks of it, they're not long dead.
  123. Melissa: That scent, too. I know a Vampire when I smell one.
  124. Melissa: But what are these tiny wounds? They look like they came from a knife. And only on the vital points.
  125. Taranor Soldier: Let's just go back. There's no sign of any tracks at all, let alone some kind of hideout.
  126. Honest Taranor Soldier: *sighing* Where could they be? I guess if anyone would be good at hiding, it would be assassins.
  127. Melissa: Right, those soldiers were talking about assassins. These wounds would make sense if they were the work of a skilled assassin.
  128. Melissa: The marks of a Vampire and assassins both found on the same body...
  129. Melissa: What a strange coincidence... *giggling*
  130. From: sb_c1096_002_6.json.txt
  131. Location: Taranor, Near the Dagger Sicar Headquarters
  132. Melissa: I couldn't find any tracks around the area near the body.
  133. Melissa: The only clues I have are the scents they left behind. Fortunately, I have my Vampire sense of smell to rely on.
  134. Melissa: It's taken me this far, but...
  135. Melissa: Is that house what I'm looking for? It's...gloomy.
  136. Melissa: Just walking straight in there will only antagonize them. I should wait out here until I have a better grasp of the situation.
  137. Melissa: The boy must be here, right?
  138. Student voice: ...
  139. Melissa: It's so quiet. Is it because they're assassins? Is there really anyone inside...?
  140. Melissa: Kyaa! Where did you come from!?
  141. Phillies: Are you an intruder?
  142. Melissa: E-Excuse me!? I'm just--
  143. Phillies: I don't need your excuses. I don't care who you are, either. All intruders are punished appropriately.
  144. Melissa: At least hear me out first!
  145. From: sb_c1096_002_7.json.txt
  146. Phillies: How can someone so small possess so much strength?
  147. Phillies: I swear I've felt this kind of power before...
  148. Phillies: Who are you?
  149. Melissa: Oh, so now she wants to hear what I have to say?
  150. Melissa: Please calm down and listen to me. I don't want to fight.
  151. Melissa: I'm not an intruder, I'm just...looking for a boy.
  152. Phillies: A boy?
  153. Melissa: A terrible thing happened, and he was sent away without even a name.
  154. Melissa: Almost his entire family died. He was sent across the ocean in the hopes that he alone may survive.
  155. Melissa: But I was able to survive as well, the only one. And I've been searching for him ever since.
  156. Melissa: I'm not sure if he's here either, but I heard some news that makes me believe he might be. He won't recognize me, though--he was only a newborn when we were separated.
  157. Phillies: ...How do I know you're telling the truth?
  158. Melissa: I swear. I've lost everything, I have no proof. Please...just believe me.
  159. Melissa: What if I told you that boy has...a thirst for blood?
  160. Phillies: ...!
  161. Phillies: No name... A thirst for blood... There's no doubt she's talking about Haste.
  162. Phillies: Is she...?
  163. Hast: What is all the noise about? Is there an intruder?
  164. Phillies: Haste...
  165. Melissa: ...!
  166. Melissa: He looks just like him! That must be the boy!
  167. Melissa: This is him! The boy I've been looking for! It's clear just from seeing his face!
  168. Hast: ...Me?
  169. Melissa: You won't have any idea who I am, but I've spent years looking for you.
  170. Melissa: I've waited so long for this day.
  171. Hast: Why?
  172. Hast: Pyllis, do you know this woman?
  173. Phillies: I think she might be your...family.
  174. Hast: Don't be absurd. I have no family.
  175. Melissa: Of course you have a family, how else were you born? Even if they did nothing but send you away...
  176. Melissa: They call you Haste? What a wonderful name. I'm so glad you grew up well.
  177. Hast: I have no idea who you are. Please leave.
  178. Phillies: Don't be like that, Haste. She's been trying so hard to find you.
  179. Melissa: It's okay, I expected something like this. This must be a big shock, it's only natural that he might resist.
  180. Melissa: I can wait a little longer until you've been able to process it. I won't lose you again this time.
  181. Melissa: I'll always be by your side.
  182. Hast: ...Strange woman...
  183. From: sb_c1096_003_1.json.txt
  184. Location: Taranor, Dagger Sicar Headquarters
  185. Assassin Cedar: Well, that certainly is a dramatic story. To think you came from so far away.
  186. Assassin Collie: So she really is Haste's family? And the only one left?
  187. Hast: So what? I told you, I have no family.
  188. Assassin Cedar: You've said yourself you have no clear memories. You don't know whether it's true or not either.
  189. Hast: Hmph, whatever. Why should I care? I'm going.
  190. Assassin Cedar: Going where?
  191. Student voice: Work.
  192. Location: Taranor, In Front of the Dagger Sicar Headquarters
  193. Melissa: Good evening, Haste.
  194. Hast: ...
  195. Melissa: Where are you rushing off to? Let's go together.
  196. Hast: *sighing* Why do you keep following me around? It's been several days already.
  197. Melissa: Yes, and I've still barely been able to see your face. Why do you disappear every time I try to talk to you?
  198. Hast: I told you, I don't care who you say you are.
  199. Melissa: But I care very much who you are.
  200. Hast: Ugh...
  201. Melissa: Do you have work to do today, as well? Can I join you?
  202. Melissa: I want to know how you live.
  203. Hast: You're still going to come even if I tell you not to. Just don't get in my way.
  204. Melissa: *giggling* I won't.
  205. From: sb_c1096_003_3.json.txt
  206. Location: Taranor, Ruins of Light and Shadow
  207. Hast: Urgh. Wherever we go, there are monsters.
  208. Melissa: It's a little scary.
  209. Hast: ...
  210. Melissa: But you're a really good fighter. Have you been training here this whole time?
  211. Hast: It's not like I was doing all the work. You fought a little as well.
  212. Melissa: Of course! I can't just stand by without helping.
  213. Melissa: I'm not used to fighting so roughly, though, so I really was a little scared. But you, you're amazing.
  214. Hast: ...
  215. Melissa: Oh, do you get embarrassed when people compliment you? I really mean it, though.
  216. Hast: Listen here, old lady...
  217. Melissa: ...
  218. Melissa: Who does this little brat think he's talking to?
  219. Melissa: Ha...haha... Old lady? I've never heard that one before. How can you call somebody with a body and face like this old?
  220. Hast: It's not how you look, just...a feeling you give off.
  221. Melissa: Oh, you mean my aura of refined maturity? In that case, wouldn't it be more fitting to just drop the "old" and call me "lady?"
  222. Hast: So how much longer are you going to keep following me for, old lady?
  223. Melissa: ...
  224. Hast: If you don't know how to fight properly then go back. It'll be inconvenient for me if you get hurt.
  225. Melissa: Hmm...
  226. Melissa: He really has an attitude. How immature, trying to act so cool. It's clear he hasn't spent much time around other people, I can see right through him.
  227. Melissa: Stop being so cold and let me go with you. I told you I'm scared!
  228. From: sb_c1096_003_7.json.txt
  229. Melissa: Wow, you're incredible! You take them all out so neatly!
  230. Hast: ...
  231. Hast: She's very calm for someone who says she's scared of fighting. She must be doing something to make this easier...
  232. Hast: Are you sure you're not good at fighting? You don't look scared.
  233. Melissa: Why would I be scared when I have you here to protect me?
  234. Hast: I'm not protecting you.
  235. Melissa: If you say so. I'll just keep hiding behind you.
  236. Hast: Hmph.
  237. Melissa: So...why are you working as an assassin?
  238. Hast: It's my job.
  239. Melissa: You know that's not what I meant. Why did you choose to become one?
  240. Hast: I'm no good at doing anything else.
  241. Melissa: Is that all?
  242. Hast: Yeah.
  243. Melissa: Hmm, I have a sneaking suspicion there might be more to it.
  244. Hast: Like?
  245. Melissa: It couldn't have anything to do with your cravings for blood, for example?
  246. Hast: ...!
  247. Melissa: I was able to find you because of the traces you left behind on your hunt for blood.
  248. Melissa: Us Vampires cannot live without it, it's a craving we'll carry with us our entire lives.
  249. Hast: You're a Vampire too?
  250. Melissa: You really had absolutely no interest in me, did you? Your friend seems to have worked it out days ago.
  251. Melissa: I'm a Vampire, just like you. We're practically family.
  252. Melissa: Although the only thing that connects us is that horrible man.
  253. Hast: "Practically" family...?
  254. Melissa: I came from Erasia, and so did you. Your father and I shared...special feelings.
  255. Hast: I had a father?
  256. Melissa: Of course, how else could you have been born? I know it's hard to believe since I look so young, but Vampires don't age, so...
  257. Hast: ...
  258. Melissa: Why are you staring at me like that?
  259. Hast: That must be why you gave off the feeling of an old lady.
  260. Melissa: Ugh, just put up with it. Now isn't the time...yet. This rude little brat's days are numbered, anyway.
  261. Melissa: As I'm sure you know, Humans despise Vampires, so we always had to be on the run.
  262. Melissa: Your father and I were separated after we were suddenly ambushed one day.
  263. Melissa: And while we were apart, he had you...
  264. Hast: Sounds complicated.
  265. Melissa: And yet he had no choice but to part with you as soon as you were born, for your own sake.
  266. Melissa: After sending you across the ocean, the Humans found him and his new family, and...I think you can work out the rest.
  267. Hast: ...
  268. Melissa: After hearing the news of what happened to him, I was too overcome with grief to do anything.
  269. Melissa: But after hearing he had a son that he had sent far away, I knew what I had to do. And now here I am, finally.
  270. Melissa: Since we've both lost the same person, I thought we might be able to share our pain.
  271. Hast: I...
  272. Melissa: Haste, we're all we have left.
  273. Melissa: I want to be the family you never had.
  274. Hast: Family...
  275. Hast: Doesn't that mean you need me...and I need you?
  276. Melissa: That's right.
  277. Hast: I see.
  278. Melissa: I knew you'd understand me, Haste.
  279. Melissa: Just as gullible as I expected.
  280. Melissa: Emotional appeals always work on children who grew up without being loved.
  281. From: sb_c1096_004_1.json.txt
  282. Location: Taranor, Dagger Sicar Headquarters
  283. Phillies: You weren't in your room yesterday. Were you with that Melissa woman?
  284. Hast: Why? Is that not allowed?
  285. Phillies: I didn't mean it like that. You're just spending a lot of time together lately.
  286. Hast: She tells me lots of things. Things about where I was born, and what happened there...
  287. Hast: Thanks to her, I learned I was born to a noble family in Erasia.
  288. Hast: And...it seems like she was very close with my father.
  289. Phillies: Oh...?
  290. Hast: Either way, I finally have a chance to find out who I really am.
  291. Phillies: I know, but still, you should be a little more careful.
  292. Hast: Why...?
  293. Phillies: If she's a Vampire just like you, her power is nothing to be ignored. You don't know what she could be thinking. You barely even know who she really is...
  294. Hast: She's strong, but she's a coward. Fighting scares her.
  295. Phillies: ...
  296. Student voice: Haste, are you in there?
  297. Phillies: Melissa...
  298. Hast: I guess she's come to tell me more things.
  299. Phillies: It's late, it's dangerous to go outside.
  300. Hast: Don't worry about me, I can deal with any monsters easily.
  301. Hast: I didn't have any requests today, so I've been bored all day anyway. I'll see you later.
  302. Phillies: ...
  303. Location: Taranor, Entrance to the Dagger Sicar Headquarters
  304. Melissa: What did you do today?
  305. Hast: Rest.
  306. Melissa: You must have been so bored. The weather's nice this evening, shall we go for a walk?
  307. Melissa: I always love going for walks at night, but I don't know this area very well, so it's a little scary to go alone.
  308. Hast: ...You're always scared. Where should we go?
  309. Melissa: I found somewhere really nice during the day. Follow me.
  310. From: sb_c1096_004_4.json.txt
  311. Location: Taranor, Crimson Dusk Forest
  312. Hast: So dark... I don't think I've ever seen this place before.
  313. Melissa: Why do you think I was so scared to come alone?
  314. Hast: If it scares you that much, then just don't come at all.
  315. Melissa: But then I would be missing out on quiet nighttime walks in the forest.
  316. Melissa: The deeper and darker it is, the better it is for carrying out the plan.
  317. Hast: Such a pain...
  318. Melissa: Oh, by the way, have you ever heard about something called a "Vampire Lord?"
  319. Hast: Of course not, how would I?
  320. Melissa: Fair point. It's just, it has something to do with our family.
  321. Hast: Tell me more...
  322. Melissa: Us Vampires are born with much greater strength than Humans.
  323. Melissa: And that's why they're so scared of us. I'm sure you've noticed as much yourself.
  324. Melissa: But there is one Vampire more powerful than all the rest. The Vampire Lord.
  325. Hast: More powerful than all the rest...?
  326. Melissa: The Vampire Lord is capable of turning Humans into new Vampires, and gifting them with new power and near immortality.
  327. Melissa: And those powers are largely passed onto those who share his blood.
  328. Hast: Did he come here with you as well?
  329. Melissa: I'm afraid not. Have I caught your attention now?
  330. Hast: Of course. You said he's the most powerful Vampire alive.
  331. Melissa: As expected, you wish to become stronger as well. I suppose that is the nature of Vampires everywhere.
  332. Hast: So is he back in Erasia then?
  333. Melissa: No, not anymore. He died long ago.
  334. Hast: Died!? How?
  335. Melissa: Do you remember what I told you before, about the ambush?
  336. Hast: Someone so strong was killed by mere Humans?
  337. Melissa: When faced with so many enemies, if you have something precious you wish to protect, it inevitably puts you at a disadvantage. No matter how strong you are.
  338. Hast: He died all for some kind of trivial sentimentality?
  339. Melissa: I suppose emotions can be seen as trivial...
  340. Melissa: But isn't it fascinating how something so trivial can drive someone to throw away everything they ever had?
  341. Hast: ...?
  342. Melissa: The Vampire Lord may have died, but he had a child. I've been trying to find that child ever since.
  343. Hast: If you ever do, tell me. I'd be interested in meeting them.
  344. Melissa: *chuckling* Of course. I'll find them very soon, I'm sure.
  345. From: sb_c1096_004_6.json.txt
  346. Hast: How much farther are we going to go? I can barely see my own feet in this dark.
  347. Melissa: Almost there!
  348. Hast: I'm never going on a walk with you again.
  349. Melissa: Don't worry, you won't have to.
  350. Melissa: Okay, we've arrived.
  351. Hast: ...There's nothing here?
  352. Melissa: That's right. Which is exactly why I brought you.
  353. Hast: Huh?
  354. Melissa: Remember the story I told you on the way here? About the Vampire Lord.
  355. Melissa: Well, he had a lover, until they were separated in an unfortunate incident.
  356. Hast: Why are you going on about this again?
  357. Melissa: As they were separated, they promised they would be reunited some day. But he betrayed his lover and had a child with a new woman.
  358. Melissa: Soon after, he sent that child out to sea to save it before dying himself.
  359. Hast: What...?
  360. Melissa: Ignorant of the circumstances of his birth, that poor child lived a lonely life of wandering.
  361. Melissa: It must have been so hard to hide the intense thirst for blood, or the incredible strength unfitting of his size.
  362. Melissa: Of course, these things are only to be expected from a son of the Vampire Lord.
  363. Hast: ...
  364. Melissa: Think, Haste. Doesn't it remind you of someone?
  365. Hast: Well, sure. But isn't it inevitable they'd have some similar experiences to me in a situation like that?
  366. Melissa: *giggling* Are you really so naive? Or maybe just stupid? What did I tell you I've been looking for this entire time?
  367. Hast: Me. And the child of the Vampire Lo--...
  368. Hast: ...What is it you want to tell me?
  369. Melissa: Because of his betrayal, I lost my family. I lost the love I cherished so much. I lost everything I had.
  370. Melissa: He may be dead already, but that will not stop me getting my revenge. I will take away everything he sacrificed himself for.
  371. Melissa: And that's why I need you. Or rather the power of the Vampire Lord within you.
  372. Hast: Why...?
  373. Melissa: Haste, you poor little thing... Blame it on that cursed blood that runs through your veins.
  374. Melissa: Don't be afraid, just think of what few pleasant memories you have. I'll try to make sure it's a painless death.
  375. Hast: W-What are you doing!? Get off of me!
  376. Melissa: Now, be a good little boy, and give me the power without a fight.
  377. From: sb_c1096_004_7.json.txt
  378. Hast: Urk...
  379. Melissa: This is harder than I expected. I suppose you are the son of the Vampire Lord, after all.
  380. Melissa: Still, I've waited over a decade for this day to come.
  381. Melissa: Even the moon is bleeding red. What better backdrop for the realization of my long-cherished desire.
  382. Melissa: Conwell, revenge is finally mine! Make sure your eyes drink in every last moment...
  383. Melissa: As I drain every last drop of your power from your son and send him on his way to meet you! Hahahahahahaha!
  384. Melissa: Mother, Father... My family...
  385. Melissa: Wait just a little longer. I will become the new Vampire Lord and save you from your torment.
  386. Melissa: I will give you eternal life, and together we will revive our fallen name and live even more glamorously than before!
  387. Melissa: Now, the first bite always tastes the sweetest...
  388. Melissa: Kyaa!
  389. Melissa: This weapon...!
  390. Phillies: I knew it was a good idea to follow you. Let go of Haste right now.
  391. Melissa: Impressive, I never even noticed you.
  392. Melissa: But you can't have imagined you'd stand any chance in defeating me. Have you come to join your friend in death?
  393. Phillies: No. I will defeat you, and I will take Haste back with me.
  394. Melissa: Don't make me laugh. You struck me as smarter than this little boy, you must be aware you have no hope of defeating me alone.
  395. Phillies: That's why I brought backup.
  396. Melissa: What?
  397. Assassin Cedar: Oh, is the fight about to start? Phew, I was worried we'd be too late.
  398. Assassin Collie: When I heard you were his family, I thought you might finally take the little brat off our hands. What a shame you just ended up being a greedy psycho.
  399. Melissa: W-When did you all...?
  400. Assassin Cedar: Swifty here might still be inexperienced, but I can navigate the terrain around here with my eyes closed.
  401. Assassin Cedar: When I saw you coming this way all by yourself during the day I thought perhaps you'd found a new trail. So naturally, I followed you.
  402. Melissa: Ha! As if Humans are any match for a Vampire!
  403. Melissa: ...Except, this Vampire is weak from days of starvation. And if the brat wakes up...
  404. Student voice: Nng...
  405. Melissa: ...!
  406. Melissa: Already!? Urgh, could he really have picked worse timing!?
  407. Melissa: ...Hmph, fine!
  408. Assassin Cedar: Oh! She's running away...
  409. Assassin Collie: Don't just stand and stare! Run after her!
  410. Phillies: Haste, wake up! Haste!
  411. Hast: ...Pyllis?
  412. Phillies: That's right, it's me, Pyllis. I'm so glad we weren't too late...
  413. Assassin Cedar: Ha, we lost her...
  414. Assassin Collie: What are you laughing about? It's your fault we were so late! Although, I don't know what I expect from someone with the brain of a puppy...
  415. Assassin Cedar: Do you always need to be so irritating?
  416. Phillies: Forget about it. She's a Vampire, it wouldn't have been easy even if we did catch her.
  417. Phillies: And that power earlier... Even Haste isn't that strong.
  418. Assassin Collie: Still, we should keep an eye out. Who knows when she might turn up again.
  419. Assassin Cedar: That's right, so make sure you don't go off playing with any more strangers, okay, kiddo?
  420. Hast: ...
  421. Phillies: Hey, where do you think you're going!? Haste!
  422. Assassin Cedar: ...I literally just warned him about doing that.
  423. Student voice: That night, when the crimson moon disappeared behind the clouds, you spoke to me.
  424. Student voice: You promised if I slept quietly in that place you prepared specially for me, that you would come straight back and awaken me.
  425. Student voice: You said we would go far, far away--farther even than here--and live happily ever after.
  426. Student voice: I was a fool to believe in such a wild fairy tale. Those sweet lies left me with nothing but bitter anguish.
  427. Student voice: You may already be gone from this world, but my revenge begins here. Even in death, I will make you suffer.
  428. Student voice: No matter how long it takes, you will pay for what you did to me. I promise you that.
