  1. Ariel has led a lonely life. It makes her vulnerable. Where others would listen to common sense. She's desperate enough for company she doesn't listen to it. Having spent far too long to think by herself. She finds her greatest escape is pleasure. A personal bad habit is indulging her escapist urges to stubbornly ignore the problem at hand. Her family taught her repression. She's been used and abused. Left to use her manipulations to survive a long time ago.
  2.
  3. Her father was a full blooded local elf mercenary. Aristar 'Dominator' Pristil took an excessive interest in a local prostitute. He was known for forcing his way with women. The town was afraid of him. He grew up to be the perfect example of a heartless mercenary. His father would assault him. If he couldn't defend himself. He didn't get any respect. If he didn't get any respect. He didn't eat.
  4.
  5. Ariel's mother was a full blooded elf. She was also a local prostitute, Sileria Noromara. She was pushed into the role out of sheer desperation. Beaten down and abused her entire life. She saw no other alternative. She felt she deserved to be the victim. This caused Aristar to take a particular liking to her. Sileria became trapped in the victim role; with no sign of escape to be seen. She accepted her fate.
  6.
  7. Aristar desperately wanted a son to help his legacy grow. Instead, he got a daughter. He blamed Sileria for not giving him the child he wanted. The abuse grew worse over the years. He resented Ariel and ignored her completely. She spent a lot of time practicing moving silently around the house. Always trying to avoid any direct conflict.
  8.
  9. She grew up seeing her father come home with battle wounds. Blood on his body from various victims. Sometimes his own. She'd worry about her father's safety. Only to get slapped and beaten. She has repressed memories of her mother being raped in the room next to hers. A childhood that consisted of avoiding her father and tuning out the cries of her mother. Stricken with fear.
  10.
  11. Puberty got the better of her temper one day. She waited until her father was in a drunken stupor. Her mother was unconscious from being beaten. She stabbed the knife into her sleeping father's throat. Scared and not sure what to do. She ran to hide from what she did. The next day, her mother was thrown in jail. Charged with the murder her daughter comitted.
  12.
  13. Ariel had slept in an alley that night. Alone, cold and filled with fear. She went back home the next day. When she saw no one was there. She waited, living in the house for a week. Wondering, would she ever see her mother again? Where had she gone? By the time she knew what had happened it was too late. She woke up to the town forming a mob. She followed the mob and saw her mother getting paraded off.
  14.
  15. Her mother glared at her before the rope snapped her neck. Mouthing to her daughter the heartbreaking words, 'despicable child'. She stared at her mother with shock. The image of her mother's dead eyes burning into her memory. Left with no one to look out for her. No survival skills had ever been taught to her.
  16.
  17. She ran into an older human called Sirius The Shadow. He offered to teach her how to survive. She learned what she could from him. He started small with what he taught her. First, teaching her about stealing to eat. Then, teaching her how to lie. Convincing her that her sex was another dangerous weapon in a woman's arsenal. Convincing her how dark and dangerous the world really was.
  18.
  19. This led to some real tense moments between her and her teacher. However, Sirius was also very gay. He had no interest in women. When he first explained some of these ideas to her. She reacted with anger. Then, when she cooled down. Sirius told her to observe people from the roof tops.
  20.
  21. Ariel reluctantly decided to try observing people. She saw people having sex through windows. Thieves running the streets. Prositutes making more profit than people would think. Cut throats surviving and thriving. She told Sirius what she saw.
  22.
  23. Sirius asked her if she cared about any of the people that died. Then, asked her if she noticed when people were most vulnerable. Ariel replied that she noticed people wre most vulnerable when distracted. Sirius then pointed out that if you were to kill someone during sex. Would they see it coming? If you could make a profit killing, would you? It wasn't like she cared for the people that died.
  24.
  25. Ariel was intrigued. She wanted to know more. Sirius taught her everything he could. She picked up the art of assassination rather quickly. With her psychological hatred for fighting fairly, directly or face to face. The career spoke to her. It began to call her more and more. She actually found it rather therapeutic.
  26.
  27. Unfortunately some of Sirus's old rivals came for him one night. While he fought bravely. Ariel fought beside him. He died, Ariel nearly died. When Ariel woke up. She found three men piling on top of her. They forced her to submit. Beating her black and blue.
  28.
  29. Left as a broken down bundle of tears. Dirty, used and beaten. Then left in a corner to rot. She couldn't do anything but cry some days. Then, she found herself wanting the company. She wanted people to be with her. She felt like she had to be the sexual ideal for people to want to be with her.
  30.
  31. She began to practice with weapons to ease her anger. One of the local merceneries watched her grow. Observing how she would sleep with strangers simply for the company. Noticing how she never truly let anyone inside. Watching how the entire experience made her that much tougher. After some time he asked her why she didn't consider using a real weapon. Why didn't she find herself a man to look out for her?
  32.
  33. She saw the grin on his face. With horror, she realized much she had been following her mother's example.Rather appalled by the idea. The last thing she wanted was to become like her mother or father. But, she had been following the example of her mother. Much more than she cared to admit. She wondered if she could be stronger and smarter than her father. She sneered at the mercenary and began lashing out with a string of insults cutting to his core.
  34.
  35. In a fit of rage caused by her harsh words. He slapped her. Then, Ariel snapped. Bringing her own blade out. The mercenary tried to apologize but it was too late. Ariel thought of this stranger the same way she thought of her father. A measly piece of scum who deserved to die. In self defense the mercenary slashed out with his sword. Ariel made quick work of him.
  36.
  37. With a scream of psychotic rage she cut him down. Word of her skill had spread. She was offered a very worthwhile amount of coin to kill a stranger. She felt with no attachment to her target. There was no reason to care if he lived or died. She killed him; then brought his head back. She collected her payment and left.
  38.
  39. Now, a feeling of confliction began to overcome her. Was she being her mother's disappointment or daddy's little girl? Deciding it felt much better to do what she wanted. Only when she wanted. It was only a matter of time until the chaos and constant confliction consumed her.
  40.
  41. She went through a period of finding herself. Killing others to make her way in the world. Since the local criminals knew who had taught her. Everyone tended to step lightly around her. While on the job she was professional. But if you ever saw her alone in a tavern or listened to her cry in her room. It was obvious she wasn't alright.
  42.
  43. Eventually she worked through all of those emotions. She is now known for her cold hard attitude. Also rather feared due to her unpredictable nature. Her reputation has made men twice her size fear her. She doesn't like using her strength to fight. Seeing this as a fool's game. She focuses on what works. What works for her is killing for relaxation and profit.
  44.
  45. After she worked through these emotions. Her employers felt it neccesary to test her. They were planning on killing someone that was a lot like her. They introduced the two of them. Sitting back and watching patiently while Ariel and Richard bonded. Richard was a male half elf who needed love. He found the connection he sought with Ariel. Or so he thought...
  46.
  47. His neediness bothered Ariel. After a week of legitimate bonding. Ariel grew sick of him. She heartlessly got her pleasure riding him. As soon as she got her orgasm. She brought the blade she'd hidden in the sheets out. Slashing it across his throat. When her employers asked her why she did this. She simply responded that she felt like having sex. He was a useful tool for her need. She simply got what use she could from him before silencing him.
  48.
  49. She did what she had to for survival. Unlike many others who buckled under the pressure. Each action done solely for her survival only toughened her up more. Each disappointment that would lead up to the next only made her more distant. Wearing a stone cold neutral gaze as comfortable as a bathrobe.
  50.
  51. She takes pride in her work as an assassin. Known for being calculated and professional. She began to work for her father's old employers after a time. A cold hearted stern woman who hides her insecurities. She doesn't trust anyone. She keeps the two worlds seperate. As Death's embodiment she has no reason to mourn for the deceased.
  52.
  53. Knowing full well each attack against her could be her last breath. She has come to terms with her need for survival. She takes too much pride in herself to prostitute again. Plus, she made a lot more as an assassin. Deciding it felt good to actually be truly wanted. Even if it meant her last breath.
  54.
  55. A cold hearted and paranoid woman. She refuses to acknowledge her psychological need for company. Rather bitter and distrusting. She holds to a civil politeness for sake of good business. Refusing to admit how much she hates what she does. Consumed by her need to survive. She's made friends, enemies. People who have thought they were friends but in reality enemies; and vice versa.
