Albert's letter to Laura.

Dear Laura.
           I am so sorry to have to write to you this way. I am afraid I have suffered a mental regression of a sort, resulting in a profound change in myself. I want to tell you before I fall down this path, that I will become the way I was many years ago, when I was at my worst. I write this to you for several reasons. I wish to warn you to try and avoid me if you can, as I will not be the man you knew. I will be dangerous. I convey this message by letter, as I fear for what I might say or do once I am gone.
Know that you are my daughter, no matter what. I love you, and Katie more than almost anything else in the world. While I will change, that love will not.
I am so sorry.
