Chapter 1.

The First Day
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- This was my last semester of High School, I was excited to finally go to college, and to add that bonus I finally got my summer job for when I graduate and my life finally seemed to be set for the next few years. Me and my friend Jaki have been best friends since Kindergarten and we literally do everything together. We even went to our junior's homecoming together, even though it seems a bit silly for to girls to go together. We also made a vow to each other that we will not find a man until we both are satisfied with ourselves and can agree to both have boyfriends. This promise is something we made back in the first grade and for some reason we still are keeping our word. I guess I just cherish Jaki that much. For me friendship is what got me through these years of high school, hell even middle school. I was also very academic, I was ranked in the top 10 in senior class, many people including my parents were very supportive of my academic achievements, but I don't know if this what I really want. I have been thinking about a lot things. Is this really what I want for my future, have I made the right friends, will I make it all ok? Am I...am I doing the right thing...

Chapter 2.

The day we met

- Once again I got really boring classes, but they are what the school I want to go to want, so I just have to put up with it. English went pretty well, and so did history, I met a really nice girl named Lauren. Calculus was really boring, maybe it was just the teacher. And I got biology again with Mrs. Woodrich but she is a really nice lady, as well as my future adviser.But then I saw someone, he was tall and so...handsome, how come I never seen him before. He was in the weights class this period so I only got to see him for a short glance. He also looked back at me! I don't know if this means something but maybe it does! But I shouldn't put any hopes up from simple glances, since what if he is a complete jerk. Anyways I decided to hang out at lunch with Lauren and Jaki

Jaki: Hey guys, did any of you guys bring some extra lunch I forgot mine!
Lauren: Yeah I did, do you want some?
Jaki: Yes that would be lovely, thank you so much! Anyways how did your guys' classes go?
Lauren: Mine went ok, just a few boring. What about you Lady? Uh Lady?

I was just looking off in the distance, I could hear them calling out to me, but all I could think about what that one guy I saw in p.e, I don't even know his name yet I'm so flustered just thinking about him, is something wrong with me, I-I never felt this way before about a boy!

Lauren: Um, Lady are you ok? Do you have a fever, why is your face all red?
Lady: Oh,uhh, its n-nothing, it's just a bit hot you know?
I said with a small smile on my face.
Jaki: Oh well, if it's too hot, maybe we can go into the library and get out of the heat and just hang out.
Lauren: Sure I'll go!
Lady: Uhh, thanks guys. (I guess)

We sat down near the side of the library near the computers, and I was still looking away while both Jaki and Lauren were just talking about what their day was like, but near the corner of my eye... I-I saw him!

Lady: Um, I'm gonna go to the bathroom ok! I'll be right back!
I rushed off the other side of the library.

Lauren: What was that about?
Jaki: Well Lauren, when a gal's gotta go, they gotta go.

My heart was pounding as I was approaching him, I kept my cool and I said hi.

Lady: UH HI! (I'm so stupid I yelled it)
Boy: *Chuckles* Um hi, who are you I believe we met earlier today.
Lady: I'm sorry, that was really awkward, but I promise I'm not that awkward!
Boy: Haha, trust me it's fine, everyone makes mistakes. Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Kyle.
*He said with a smile*
Lady: Kyle..., uh hi Kyle, I'm Lady.
Kyle: Lady, What a pretty name.
(Oh my god, I'm blushing I can't even control myself)
Lady: Uh, yeah, uh what classes are you in?
I said very shaky.
Kyle: Well, I don't think we are in any classes as far as I'm aware of, but I think we do see each other near your biology and of course in our p.e class.
Lady: That is true, and that is quite unfortunate.

*The Bell rang*

Kyle: Oh well I guess I should get going to the last class, but it was nice meeting you.

He rushed off. It felt surreal, I never really talked to a boy like that, I was so nervous, and I only felt really nervous when taking tests. Am I really trying to fall for this guy?... No, of course not, I have much more dignity than a simple girl, I am more sophisticated and will not fall for this guy so easily.. but he really is nice. UGH WHY ME!

Chapter 3

An unexpected surprise

I have no idea, but whenever I wake up with my hair all messed up, I really just don't have the energy to make it all look pretty, why am I so lazy. But I guess it's what I gotta do cause it's what society wants. So I put on really nice clothes for this school day, and I can hardly believe it has already been 3 weeks since I have seen Kyle, even during P.E, I was always trying to see if he was there, but I could never see him. Or biology like he said. Maybe he just said that stuff to make me feel better and try not make me feel bad to reject me and not want to see me. I said goodbye to my parents and carried on with my day. And something caught my attention in the middle of biology class...

Mrs. Woodrich: Wow Lady, good job with this week's test, you scored very high. Lady... Lady!
Lady: Huh,Oh.
*Everyone in class let's out a small chuckle cause I had a bit of drool on my lip*
Lady: Sorry Mrs. Woodrich, I didn't mean to space out... I just have a few things to think about...Sorry
Mrs. Woodrich: Ah don't worry about it too much about it Lady, just please pay attention, this lesson is very important for next week's quiz ok. Anyways....*My mind begins blanking*

Why is Kyle still on my mind, maybe I should go back to the library and see if he is there, maybe like last time. Will I ever see him again. Do I even like this guy....

Well towards lunch I completely forgot that I had band practice after school, so I just spent lunch with Jaki, Lauren, and another friend named Tara.

Lauren: Hey Lady, have you been alright, you have been looking pretty sad these past few days.
Tara: Lauren, don't you know it's rude to ask people how they feel, you shoul-
Lady: No Tara, it's fine, I've just been thinking about a lot of things.... and I don't know if I can share it with you guys.
Jaki, Lauren, and Tara: Well, just tell us!
Lady: OH, um, well it's- it's regarding...boy issues!
*Tara begins laughing*
Lauren: TARA!
Tara: Oh, I'm sorry, I thought it was something serious.
Jaki: Tara, this could be serious. Go ahead Lady tell us.
Lady: Jaki, you aren't mad?
Jaki: Why would I be, that promise was when were kids, it doesn't matter now.
Lauren: What promise?
Jaki: Basically we promised that we weren't gonna fall in love until we both agreed to get boyfriends.
*Tara began laughing again*
Lauren: Tara!
Jaki: No, Lauren, trust me I even think this promise was silly, only because we were so young when we said it and of course we all change right. Hell even... Tara has a boyfriend...
Lauren: WHAT, really Tara?
Tara: Well, yeah duh, how could a man resist a charm like mine, besides Phil really loves me.
*Lauren looks at Tara with a bored expression*
Lady: Um, anyways, I don't know if anyone knows him but his name is Kyle, and I haven't seen him in a while, and I sorta wanted to say hi to him but I rarely see him around campus. I was just curious if you guys have seen him.
Jaki: Well, I never have.
Lauren: Neither have I.
Tara: I think Phil does know Kyle a little bit, I think they had history together, but he said he left the class after the 2nd day.
Lady: Oh, well I guess it really doesn't matter than. Thanks for the help anyways guys?
Tara: Do you like this guy? Hmmm! Does little miss top 10 have a crush!
Lady: Well, it't not l-like that Tara!
Tara: Well, your blushing face says otherwise!

Everyone was mocking me but in a friendly way, I'm really glad I had somewhat decent friends to help me. After I was done with Band, I stayed behind to practice. Everyone else left, but I usually stay here anyways and the director actually gave me a key to close after I finish, so it's nice that he trusts me with such responsibility. I unpacked my flute and tried to play, all that came out were sounds of spit on metal... my mind is a mess, I can't stop worrying. Why do I worry for a stranger who I thought was simply handsome and just felt infatuated for. Maybe I'm not as strong as I thought. I simply shouted out

Lady: I can't play while thinking of him... this is frustrating
Someone: Thinking of who?

I looked behind me.... is that really...

Chapter 4

Him

Lady: Kyle, is that really you? Where have you been?!?
Kyle: Oh, I must have never told you, but I've actually been transferred to the wrestling team this semester so my schedule has been changed, but I actually switched my science class to my old one again, so I can actually see you a bit more too. Also I'm staying after school a bit cause of training you know?
Lady: Wow I've been missing you so much.

I ran off out of my chair and embraced Kyle.

Kyle: Oh..umm this is really awkward dude...
Lady: I'm sorry...I-I just really missed you... is all
Kyle: oh really, haha well maybe if you'd like we could get some lunch after you're done.
Lady: Well, I'm actually done here.
Kyle: Really, didn't you just st-
Lady: No, I finished!
Kyle: Well, alright, I guess I'll wait outside the band room for you then.
Lady: What did you come here for anyways?
Kyle: Hm, oh no reason in particular, the band room always seems pretty cool to me, I don't know...
Lady: Oh, well I guess that's a good reason.
Kyle: Anyways, I'll step outside, I'll wait for you.
Lady: Ok see you outside!

Oh my goodness... does Kyle really love me back. Am I dreaming? No, of course not, but where was he and why didn't I see him around? Maybe I could ask him, anyways I should pack my stuff and get going!

Kyle: So Lady? How about some subway, I heard they finally decided to accept Coke Zero into their shop and I wanted to get some. So how about it?
Lady: Sure, that sounds fine... um Kyle can I ask you.. Why didn't I see you around campus these past few weeks? I should have at least seen you around at lunch.
Kyle: Ah, so you didn't hear, but I got the flu and I just fully recovered from it.
Lady: Oh really?
Kyle: Yes, I don't usually get sick, how about you?
Lady: I can't really remember, but maybe in middle school... maybe once
Kyle: Huh, you seem like a pretty healthy person than to only get sick once.
Lady: Haha yeah....

Why can't I remember how or when I got sick? I guess I shouldn't think about it too much, it probably was the flu anyways.
I was really happy to eat with Kyle, he is a really sweet guy, but I do have exams coming up to think about, I hope he doesn't mind.

Chapter 5

Old Memories

It's been almost 4 months since the semester started and our semester is roughly 12 months long and finish around July. Not to mention that me and Kyle have been dating for nearly 3 months now too, and we have been getting along really great, I mean yesterday we went to the mall together and we got some really cool games and clothes. Maybe it's just me but why does Kyle feel so familiar. Maybe it's just my imagination. It was my 18th birthday a few days ago too, and me and Kyle were pretty excited, but for no reasons you perverts! Anyways, I plan to spend this whole weekend with him, and he says he wants to come to my house, so I called off the plans I had with Jaki and she said it was fine. Will my family like him?

Mr. Espeon: Lady... who is this...
Lady: Daddy, this is my boyfriend I was telling you about....Kyle
Kyle: Nice to meet you Mr. Espeon!
Mr. Espeon: I'll be watching you like a hawk Kyle....
Mrs. Espeon: Oh Kyle nice to meet you!
Kyle: Nice to meet you too Mrs. Espeon. Thank you for letting your daughter go to the festival with me, I promise to have her home safe.
Mr. Espeon: You better, your life depends on it.
Lady: Don't worry Kyle, my dad likes to joke around a lot, RIGHT DAD(I began pinching my dad)
Mr. Espeon: OW, uh yes of course I was kidding!
Lady: Anyways, thank you, Kyle will take care of me, anyways we'll be going, bye Mom and Papa!
* I wave at them as we leave*

Mr. Espeon: Karen, was that boy....
Mrs. Espeon: Yeah he was... I hope Lady will be ok this year...

We got to the fair and We actually saw Tara and Phil! I don't know if Tara liked me cause she was always laughing at me and makes fun of me occasionally. But regardless I decided to say hi.

Lady: Tara! Phil! Over here!
Tara: Oh hey Lady, and you must be Kyle!
Kyle: Yes, nice to meet you Tara, Phil told me a lot about you.
Tara: Really(Looks at Phil), like nice things?
Kyle: Not really.
Tara: PHIL, IS WHAT HE SAYING TRUE.(Tara runs off crying)
Phil: No Tara, of course they were nice things! Come Back!

Lady: Does Phil really talk about Tara like that?
Kyle: Somewhat Phil tells me about how she always yell at them, but they really are happy together.
Lady: Aw how sweet... Um Kyle... I'm kinda busy for the next few weeks cause of exams, so this is really our only time together besides at my practice...so...(I began blushing)..umm.... I was wondering if we could maybe kiss...BUT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO THAT'S FINE!

I'M SUCH AN IDIOT

Kyle: Lady, of course...I really do love you. And don't worry I also have some training to do so I wouldn't mind.
Lady: Really!
Kyle: Yeah. (He gave a smile to me and came close to me)

He gave me a kiss. His kiss was so soft, and I could still taste the coke zero that he had for lunch. I never kissed someone before, I really hope I didn't screw anything up. The whole day was really nice, we played a bit of basketball, which Kyle won me a small teddy bear, and we also went on a few rides, I wanted to go on the Ferris wheel but I don't know if Kyle would really like it.

Lady: Kyle, would you like to go on the Ferris Wheel with me?
Kyle: Sure.
Lady: I'm sorry I'm really nervous, I mean even though we've been dating for a long time, this is our first time alone...
Kyle: Don't sweat it dude, let's go before the line gets too big.

When we were on the ferris wheel, it was so difficult looking down! I was scared of heights, so it was really embarrassing for me, but Kyle was just laughing at me. He has a really cute laugh.

Kyle: Hey Lady.
Lady: Yeah what is it Kyle?
Kyle: Lady... I want to know, have I been disturbing your studies?
Lady: What of course not! Who told you this?
Kyle: Hmm..no one in particular, I was just a bit worried that someone like me would only be getting in your way. Plus I do know you would like to go to a very nice school.
Lady: Just because I want to go to Irvine doesn't mean I can't spend time with my loved ones, and especially with my boyfriend!
Kyle: Ah ok, that's what I've been worried about for a while, so thanks for clearing that up.

Does Kyle feel like a burden to me? I have good time management skills so he should know that I can have time for him and still do good in my school just like how I always have. I hope he doesn't think about that for too long, cause I really do love Kyle... in fact I really love him...

Lady: Kyle... can I ask you something?
Kyle: Sure what is it?

I hope this request wasn't too much for him, but it will make me happy.

Chapter 6

Retribution

It was month 6, and everyone was doing really well, I had a few headaches here and there but all my exams went really great! But then I heard something on the PA.

Voice: Lady Espeon, please report to the Assistant principal's  office immediately.
Lady: Oh, sorry Mrs. Avila! I'll come back as soon as possible.

I wonder what I was called for. I open the door and the assistant principal did not look very happy.

Lady: Um, hi Mr. Shawn, is there something you need.
Mr. Shawn: Well yes that's why I called you in here
*No need to be so rude you jerk*
Mr. Shawn: Anyways care to explain this?
*Hands a piece of paper*
Lady: What is this?
Mr. Shawn: It is a transcript, but not just any transcript, it's yours.
Lady: And what does this have to do with anything?
Mr. Shawn: Your grades have been slipping Ms. Espeon, look at them,  A-B-A-C-C-A, what is going on? Is there an issue going on in the family or something? Irvine contacted me to tell you to improve the grades, or the chance of acceptance is low madame.
Lady: It's nothing, but maybe I thought I could just try and take it easier this semester, besides I can still get B's in all my classes!
Mr. Shawn: Ms. Espeon, that's not how it works, school are very competitive, and if you take a B for your answer, the university may only accept an A, I suggest you make the better choice.
Lady: Well, I of course will improve.
Mr. Shawn: And Lady, I am aware of your relation with Mr. Kyle Grown, that kid is not for the likes of you, he is simply

being a burden to you.

I couldn't believe my own ears. Do people really think Kyle is a burden to me? He didn't do anything wrong. In fact he has made me the happiest I've been in years. I felt so upset!

Lady: I'm sorry, but Mr. Shawn who I decide to be in a relationship with is my own business, and I'll have you know that I love Kyle very much, and he isn't a burden to me, and his own grades have also been improving!
Mr. Shawn: His grades don't matter as much as yours Lady, how can someone like you, a hard dedicated worked, go from rank 8 to rank 17. It seems almost fictional. All I have to say is reconsi-
Lady: NO! I WON'T, I'm sorry Mr. Shawn but I love who I love, and if I don't go to Irvine because I love someone then so be it, I'm done with this conversation! Have a good day!

I ran out and slammed the door behind me. I ran to my car crying. I didn't know what to do... I-I-I

Kyle: Whoa...
Lady: Ow!
*We bumped into each other.*
Kyle: Why are you going so fast? In a rush somewhere? Oh!
*I gave him a deep hug*
Lady: I'm sorry Kyle, I'm so sorry!
Kyle: Sorry for what.
Lady: Everything, sometimes I think...I think we..
Kyle: Whatever your thinking, don't. People have told me similar things Lady. "Oh she's too good for you" or "She will leave you in the dust", and I used to think it was true, but you taught me that if you really do love someone, then both will be able to overcome and difficulty they encounter. And I do love you Lady. And trust me, everything you have done is really incredible, you are the most intelligent person I have even known, and all I have for me going is my wrestling. Seems silly doesn't it.
Lady: ...yeah I guess...can we go home...
Kyle: Yeah sure, we can go home.

I felt so bad the entire day, my parents were worried about me too, and Kyle was nice enough to bring me home and gave me a get well card. Over the past few days, I tried feeling better about the whole situation, including just writing and drawing, and me and Kyle have never been closer!

Chapter 7

It returns

The headaches came back, I have no idea why they kept coming, but I tried dealing with them, it was our spring break so I got to hang out with a bunch of my friends, and today I decided to hang out with Lauren and Jaki at the mall, and Kyle said he would come too! It was going to be a really nice day today and I was really happy!

Jaki: Hey Lady, long time no see!
Lady: Yeah it has been a while! A few weeks in fact. Can you guys believe we are 8 months into the semester, we are so close to being done!
Lauren: Yeah I think it's really nice, I've been able to find a small job near my house for the summer, what about you guys?
Lady: I also plan on a summer job!
Jaki: Not me! I have more important things to do!
Lauren: Like what...
Jaki: Well of course to pursue my modeling career!
Lauren: Why are you still going on about this! I already told you that it won't work if you don't have money!
Jaki: Oh that's right....
*Jaki became depressed* *Is this really what Jaki and Lauren been up to these weeks*
Jaki: Oh anyways, Lady, is Kyle coming?
Lady: Um, yeah he said that he would, I have no idea when he will though.
Jaki: Well let's go have some fun just like old times, yeah?
Lauren: I'm up for it!
Lady: Yeah me too, let's go!

We spent the past few hours just looking around clothing, and we went to the comic store, and a lot of people were giving us some really weird eyes, have they never seen girls in a comic store before or what? Anyways, it was around 3 p.m for us, but Kyle still hasn't come, maybe he had to do some training, so I guess that would be an ok alibi. I forgot how much fun it was to be with Lauren and Jaki, I really love my friends, they are so nice to be around. But...

Lady: Hey can you guys slow down a bit?
Jaki: No way, the corn dog stand doesn't have a short line Lady, we gotta cheese it over there!
Lauren: Well Jaki, if Lady would like us to slow down, maybe we could, right lady? Lady? LADY!
Jaki: What's wrong Lauren? Oh my goodness! Someone get help, please someone call 911, ca-

I heard nothing, I couldn't feel anything. I just remember having a cough then I fell down. What happened to me. Why do I feel like I felt this way before. Am I ok? Did Kyle save me? I couldn't think straight for the past few weeks, was this what was causing my headaches. I still need to tell my parents before they find out too. I hope I'm not too late. My mind is a mess right now. Maybe...I should get some rest...

Chapter 8

Reveal

I woke up. Where am I? Why am I at the hospital? Am I really sick? I wonder... wh-

Doctor: Ah you finally woke up I see!
Lady: Um, hi Doctor. I'm sorry, but where am I?
Doctor: Has it set it already, it's only been a few days?
Lady: What?
Doctor: Oh nothing, do you remember who Kyle is?
Lady: Uh, yeah why?
Doctor: Oh thank goodness, it hasn't yet.
Lady: What has set in!
Doctor: Nothing to worry about anymore Lady, I'm just glad you're ok. I'll contact your parents and friends to tell them you're ok, just relax and don't move around too much ok? I'll be right back.

What was he talking about? I was looking around and my room was filled with an array of balloons and get well soon cards. Has is really been a few days? What happened? I should ask the doctor or maybe he will tell me... oh they are coming back.

Mrs. Espeon: Lady! You are alright, we were all worried about you.
Mr. Espeon: Yes, I'm also really glad you are alright. Your friend is also here to see you
*Kyle walks in*
Lady: Kyle! Ow.
Doctor: Try not to move to much, you are still recovering.
Lady: Yeah sorry, Kyle I'm so glad to see you!
Kyle: As am I.
Doctor: Well, if I may have a word with all of you. I want to say something. Your daughter is actually pregnant.

Oh no. I looked to my parents.
Lady: Dad, I can explain.
Mr. Espeon: Don't bother Lady.
Mrs. Espeon: Is this true doctor?
Doctor: Yes, for almost 5 months already. Her baby is due for around early July, maybe even before her graduation. I suggest she take it a bit easy especially watch what you eat, for the child.
Lady: So, I'm really having a kid?
Doctor: Yes, and Kyle is the father. And Kyle, I must know are you ready to even have a child?
Kyle: Yes, I have been working very hard at my job and I do get a decent pay and hopefully help support our future kid.
Doctor: Haha, that's the spirit! Mr. and Mrs. Espeon, I say she should stay for 2 more days here before going back to school, especially since she can still be back home before spring break ends. But I shall part from here, thank you for your patience.
Lady: Mom...Dad... I'm really sorry...
*Tears began falling down from my face*
Mrs. Espeon: Oh honey, it's fine, me and your father have had this discussion, and we thought it was fine if it did happen. We consider you an adult in our eyes, and you are smart enough to make your own decisions.
Mr. Espeon: And as much as I hate to admit it, Kyle would be a somewhat decent father.
Lady: Really Papa? Do you mean that?
*He nods his head*
Kyle: I'm sorry Lady, I couldn't be there for you, but I'll do my best now. I will try to be the best father I can.
Lady: Thank you Kyle I love you so much.
Mr. Espeon: Anyways we better get going, we don't want to bother you too much and you should rest too.
Lady: Thank you Papa, I love you all, bye!
*They exit*

I really can't believe they took me being pregnant so well. I am so glad, everything is going so well, and Kyle is going to be such a great father! I was ready to go back to school to give it my all and finish out strong, not only for me now, but for our kid and Kyle too! I will do my best!

Chapter 9

A promise
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Me and Kyle have been spending a lot of time together and its already May, and my stomach has finally been kinda getting large, and a lot of people have been wishing me good luck! How nice is it that everyone is so supportive of me and Kyle when only a few months ago, they were all against us. But we showed that we truly do love each other. I was still feeling a bit light headed but nothing to serious. After school instead of practicing, we just sat down in the field and just talked.

Kyle: Hey how you holding up?
Lady: I'm doing fine, how about you, how's work going?
Kyle: It's being going pretty good, in the summer they're actually promoting me to manager position for the shop so it's a nice raise.
Lady: Ah that's really nice to hear! Um Kyle, can I ask you something?
Kyle: Sure what's up?
Lady: Can we head to my home... I really want to be home right now...
Kyle: Sure, I'll drive us there
*We got to my house and neither of my parents were home, so I was a bit nervous to be around Kyle*

Kyle: Hey Lady, I wanna show you a wrestling move. Wanna try it?
Lady: Um, sure as long as I don't get hurt ok?
Kyle: Of course not.

He began grabbing my leg, but we both fell down, and his face was right towards mine...

Lady: Oh, I'm sorry I'm so clumsy!
*My face was blushing again*
Kyle: It's alright...
Lady: Your eyes..are so green...
Kyle: Lady, I need to tell you something. I didn't think we would be friends again. So I think it's really important to tell you this.
Lady: Again?
Kyle: Around middle school, you fell ill, I was so worried that it happened again...that...that I would lose you.
Lady: Kyle, what are you talking about.
Kyle: You couldn't remember who I was, I was keeping my eye on you since you came back in the 7th grade, I was always trying to make sure you were alright and nothing bad would happen to you. We've been friends since our early childhood, I've known your parents for a long time too. They trusted in me for you to be ok, and I made a promise to you that I would protect you no matter what. I didn't know if would ever meet again after middle school, I never saw you until this senior year, but I'm glad I have, and you have made my life for the better.
Lady: Is that why I thought...you seemed so familiar?
Kyle: Maybe, I'm sorry that it seems a bit weird, but I really do love you, and I want us to get married in the summer.
Lady: Are you proposing to me?
Kyle: I hope I can keep my promise this time.
Lady: I love you so much Kyle.
Kyle: Me too.

He gave me a gentle kiss, his skin felt so smooth and his hair was rough yet nice to the touch. I never really thought of myself in this position, first as an intellectual and now a mom to be. My life has definitely has changed...a lot, and I get to be with the one I love, and has been taking care of me, even when I fall ill.

I got a call later that night after Kyle left, and it was actually from the doctor.

Doctor: Hi Ms. Espeon, how have you been?
Lady: I've been really good, I haven't been really sick at all, and the baby is also really doing well.
Doctor: Ah that's good to hear, uh listen, I have some bad news...
Lady: Um, what is it?
Doctor: We have actually been looking at what got you sick... and there no really good way to put it, but if you do decide to give birth, the child will be perfectly healthy, however you might die in the process after the birth. I'm sorry to deliver this news. Lady? Are you there?

I put down the phone. I was heartbroken. I apologized to the doctor and told him thank you for letting me know what will happen, now I have to decide, what will I do. My parents aren't home and all I can do is cry in my room, and I couldn't call Kyle since it was too late and he is already asleep. What should I do...

Chapter 10

Summer

It was June, the news was given to me in May, should I tell Kyle, I mean I told Jaki and Lauren and even Jaki, and my parents too, everyone is supportive regardless of my decision. But what will Kyle say.

Lady: Kyle I need to tell you something.
Kyle:...
Lady: I have some bad news...
Kyle: *Lets out a sigh* I know already Lady.
Lady: Do you really*coughs*?
Kyle: Yeah, I do, I know that the sickness will only let one of you live. And...whatever you decide to choose, I will love you.
Lady: I want to give birth Kyle.
Kyle: Are you sure about this?
Lady: Yes, I only have 4 more weeks before I give birth to our kid. And I would like our baby to have a wonderful life. Are-are you crying?
Kyle: Yeah, just a bit. I'm sorry...
Lady: I love you Kyle.
Kyle: I love you Lady.

July was here, and graduation was near as well, but the week before graduation I was hospitalized. I was giving birth to our baby. I wonder how our little girl will grow up to be. I hope she plays nice with the kids, and that she is smart, and she does the right things. I'm sure she will. Kyle was grabbing my hand stronger than I was holding his, and I was the one giving birth.

Lady: Everything will be alright Kyle. Just please don't forget about me ok?
*I smiled at him*
Kyle: I promise I won't. What should we name our child?
Lady: Let's name her Rose.
Kyle: Why Rose?
Lady: Because I think that she will bloom into a beautiful child when she grows up, and she will have the thorns of her father protecting her at all times.
Kyle: I guess, Rose it is then.
Doctor: Kyle, may I ask you to step outside while Lady will give birth, or would you rather stay and keep her company, after she may not survive...
Kyle: It's fine, I want to be with her. She is my fiance.
Doctor: Alright then, Lady just relax, breathe slow, and push ok, and hopefully you will be alright and so will Lil Rose.
Lady: I love you Kyle...*cough*
Kyle: I love you too Lady, and so does Rose.

I heard a short cry, and I saw her, it was Rose, she was so pretty, and I got to hold her for just a bit, and so did Kyle. I love Rose, and I'm glad I got to meet her. I felt light headed again.... I....I.... I'm trying to stay awake, and Kyle keeps crying, but I couldn't talk, all I could do was smile at him. My life was something lovely, great friends, Jaki, Lauren, Tara, Phil, and Kyle, I was accepted to Irvine after all that, scoring very good on my AP exams, I was graduating and I was going to get married. I really wish I could have been there for the summer, everything was going to go so well, we even found our own place. Hope*cough* Hopefully Kyle and Rose can be happy in our little home... I...I... love you Ky...le....

*Lady's hands fall down off of Kyle*

Kyle: I'm sorry Lady...
*sobs*

Regardless of what happened in life, I was never sad, I was never unhappy, I always felt satisfied, and even in the afterlife, I hope everyone can too....

Chapter 11 (epilogue)

Father Figure

Rose: Daddy, it's time for school!
Kyle: Oh that's, it's your first day in kindergarten right?
Rose: Yup!
Kyle: Do you have your lunch all packed up!
Rose: Yeah, cmon Daddy let's go!

*Rose runs out the door towards the car*

Kyle: Oh Rose, you are so silly...like your.... mom...maybe I should give another quick prayer before I go.
*Goes towards the picture of Lady, and closes eyes*

Oh Lady, I wish you could be here with us right now, I miss you a lot, and so does Rose, and I've been doing a good job of keeping her happy. I hope you're also happy where ever you are. We will continue being a happy family, and you will always be with us...in our hearts Lady. I love you and so does Rose. Take care ok?

Kyle: Rose, don't go into the streets!

Me and Rose get along very well, and she does miss her mom...a lot, but she knows that she will always be with her no matter what. I want to protect Rose, and I will keep that promise.

Kyle: Ok Rose have fun at school!
Rose: Bye Daddy!
Kyle: Lauren...is that you?
Lauren: Oh hi Kyle, it's been a while!
Kyle: Yeah it has, are you a kindergarten teacher?
Lauren: Yeah, I always wanted to be this since I was young. And I see you've taken well care of Rose right?
Kyle: Yeah...
Lauren: Does...she know about Lady...
Kyle: Yeah, but she took it well, and knows, and we pray to her every night so that she will give the both of us strength to move forward.
Lauren: That's really sweet, well it was nice meeting you Kyle again, take care at work ok?
Kyle: Will do, bye!
Lauren: Say bye to daddy Rose!
Rose: Bye Papa!
Kyle: Bye Rose, I love you.
Rose: I love you too Papa!

I left her in good hands...I know she will be alright... Thank you Lady, for everything you've done for me, even if you can't be with me right now, I still feel your presence with me and so does everyone else. I will be a strong parent for Rose. So thank you, and I love you.

Boy: Hey you!
Rose: Huh?
Boy: You...you look pretty...
Rose: Oh! Um thank you!
Boy: Um...I-I promise when we are older, we can become really great friends!
Rose: Haha, sure!
Boy: The name's Joden, nice to meet ya!
