rnw chapter 21

OKAY SO CHAPTER 21 starts off talking about how murashige's left his wife and kids behind in the castle and gone out for the first time in a year

nobukatsu says I WANT YOU TO KILL THAT MAN HE'S FUCKIN CRAZY FOR GOING AGAINST MY DAD I WILL BRING MY DAD HIS HEAD SO THEN HE WILL LOVE ME AGAIN etc etc and ARE YOU LISTENING, NINJAS?!

nobody answers but he's positive they're there so he says LOWLY CATERPILLAR and then gets a kunai thrown at him I think LMAO

the response is "did you say something, mozuku?" (which is a type of seaweed smdh) and nobu says IF YOU'RE THERE THEN AT LEAST ANSWER ME

the ninja says "well sure as long it's okay people know you brought a ninja along", nobukatsu's like "with the likes of a ninja... I AM YOUR MASTER YOU KNOW"

ninja's like whatever, the point is killing murashige right, even nobunaga's having trouble... he's losing his touch

nobukatsu's like lol uh actually dad's just busy HE CAN CRUSH YOU INSTANTLY YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW STRONG HE IS etc etc I'm not gonna bother with all of this bc sakichi isn't here and it's pretty obvious from the imagery LMFAO tl;dr "HE HAS A GIANT ARMY AND HE WILL MERCILESSLY DESTROY LITERALLY ANYBODY HE FEELS LIKE and murashige's been on the front lines for it", nobunaga shows up behind murashige like BOO

cut to sakon and sakichi, sakon throws a bunch of passagg shade at murashige and eventually sakichi's like okay wtf are you trying to say

sakon's like "I'm just wondering if somebody like him is really worth saving" and sakichi says "I don't like it when people beat around the bush, shut up. no matter what type of person it is, it'd weigh on my conscience if I let them die in front of me. that's all it is"

murashige wakes up and immediately starts searching for something, sakon says "looking for this?" and murashige's like GIVE IT BACK!!!

sakon says he peeked inside and "when did you..."

murashige says "WHAT? it's just tea utensils!!" and sakon says "surely it's something more valuable than that? something more important to you than even your family and the troops in the castle"

sakichi says "murashige-dono" and murashige says "please leave me alone... it's just as that man said, I'm a coward who ran away and left everyone behind"

sakichi says "but isn't it because you're calling for reinforcements? you were in that castle for a year, until your food and your army and your willpower ran out. but even though you sent out letters and messengers, no reinforcements came. you've exhausted all your resources, so you left the castle to go negotiate yourself."

sakon says "so that expensive-looking tea set is a gift he's bringing to them?" and sakichi's like sure let's go with that

murashige says "that's... why..." and sakichi says "on the front lines under nobunaga, on countless occasions you saw the deaths of your people. you wouldn't abandon your troops and your family, right?"

murashige asks his name and sakichi gives it, murashige asks why he's there and asks if he's heard the rumors about the scroll as well and tells them to give up, that's a cursed demon's document

he says "if you read it, you'd understand... the terror of the orochi"

then I can't quite read it but I think sakon's pointing out that they heard the orochi was sealed away three hundred years ago, murashige's like yeah but that's an imperfect vessel and that the demon called the orochi isn't a natural disaster or a superstition, it's a giant wicked monster that consumes even mountains. "if something like that's resurrected, the country will die"

sakon's like okay but we heard the orochi's under control?? and murashige's like BUT STILL... that kind of power absolutely cannot be here, if it got into nobunaga's hands then literally no one would ever know happiness living under the demon king

sakichi's thinking about how dokuro hozuki said that the vessel will show signs (I think) and that with the three scrolls you've got the orochi in your grasp

sakon's like well in that case isn't it best to just destroy it? and murashige says he feels the same way but that it's no use, it won't be destroyed no matter how much you cut it or burn it or anything like that

sakichi's like "so that's why nobunaga keeps targeting you, he won't stop until you die you know" and murashige says he knows, that's why he can't rely on anyone else, that aside from his castle nobunaga's people could come after him any time, anywhere and starts yelling about how he's gotta protect it with his life and won't hand it over to anybody, not nobunaga or ieyasu or hideyoshi

sakon's like "that's enough talk, something's here. get back"

sakichi's like ???? is it night robbers again??? and sakon says "no, something quieter... ominous..." and then nobukatsu starts yelling AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'M FALLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HELP MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

sakichi's like "that's... nobukatsu-sama?!"

nobukatsu says WTF IS THIS PLACE THERE'S LIKE NO FOOTHOLES HELP MEEEEEEE

sakon wonders wtf he's doing here and murashige's like WTF HE CAN'T HAVE FOUND ME ALREADY

then BOO A NINJA and sakichi starts to yell out but sakon nyooms on over between them

sakon's like wow attacking from behind huh w o w and then ninja man disappears, sakichi's like ?!?!? but murashige's injured... he says "murashige-dono" and some shuriken come flying at them but sakon knocks them away

sakichi thinks "he disappeared again! ...no, not disappear... this guy makes no sound at all"

sakon's like well shit if he's silent and it's this dark out we might be fucked

sakichi's trying to guess where he'll come from but then nobukatsu starts yelling again lmfkj he's like I'M SERIOUSLY FALLING HERE FUCKIN NINJAS WHAT ARE YOU DOING MY HANDS HURT DO YOU NOT WANT TO GET PAID YOUR MASTER IS GONNA DIE HELLOOOOO"

then it looks like tanba pops up and yanks him up by the hair... while he's throwing a fit sakon's like "they're aiming for murashige we gotta gtfo" so sakichi calls for nadeshiko

he gets murashige on the horse and then asks sakon "what about you?!" and sakon says he's gonna stick around a play a little bit

he tells the ninja to entertain him and then says "shimakiyo oki, entering!" (or however you feel like translating MAIRU, it's what they say when they announce themselves before a battle and also I just now noticed the giant thing of sake on his waist wtf)

ANYWAY murashige is like SHIMAKIYO OKI??? and sakichi's like "d'you know him?"

murashige's like um yeah he's only THE FIERCE GOD OF THE TSUTSUI CLAN and then... if there's a good way to translate this then I'm too tired to figure it out but he says that sakon's called "both wings" and that he's ukon/sakon, which is written with the kanji for right and left respectively--ukon/sakon is an edo period legend about some foxes, I'll translate it for you if you want but basically murashige's just saying HOLY SHIT IT'S THAT GUY

meanwhile sakichi's like wait a second, if he's from the tsutsui house then what the hell is he doing here

cut to fighting, sakon says "let's end hide and seek here" and then it's kind of too blurry for me to read, from what I can tell the ninja's just plotting the best way to attack and not die

FIGHTING FIGHTING FIGHTING and it looks like a draw?? sakon’s like WELP and the ninja says "the fierce god... shimakiyo oki?" and then wonders if 'that gramps showed up' lmfao

back to sakichi who's like "what's that noise? a bell? I've heard this somewhere--" and then tanba's like HI THERE MURASHIGE I'll be taking that scroll thanks

sakichi yells at murashige to not let go, tanba picks him up and throws him off the horse... bye sakicchan

he tells murashige that the scroll used to be in iga, but that it was stolen by some vixen... and says he doesn't know how it ended up in murashige's hands but that he's taking it back

he picks him up by the face and says "where is the scroll?" AND THAT'S THE END OF CH 21 I'll get 22 tmr!!
